Thrawn wants to praise the officer with a citation not slap on the wrist. The definition of a citation is that its a mention of a praiseworthy act or achievement in an official report, especially that of a member of the armed forces in wartime.

It’s weird that a lot of people thought he meant a punishment, which would be so out of character for Thrawn, he respects sacrifice and in some twisted way, he cares about his crew.
@@Manx36probably because they think of 'traffic citations', which is the most generally modern usage that I see for that word. Commendation is a little more generally used term.
We tend to think as a citation as being bad like a traffic ticket but in the military they are like medals. That was what Thrawn was referring to with the Tie Fighter Captain. It gives Thrawn more depth as a leader when you think of it this way I think, and produces deeper loyalty from his troops.

Yeah, a bunch of reactors have been misunderstanding that line.
Citation, Cited, Cite :- to mention or refer to in praise or recognition of. In this case, Thrawn is giving an official recognition of excellent service on the officer's record.
A lot of us current or ex-military types have been making the rounds to various reactions to clear something up:
A citation in the military has a VERY different meaning than a citation in most other scenarios. You may assume (not incorrectly) that a citation is a negative write-up or disciplinary action. However, in the military, a citation is essentially the exact opposite. It's a formal honorary mention of exemplary service marked on a soldier's, sailor's, airmen"s etc. permanent record. So here, especially knowing how Thrawn values loyalty and we know from various novels that the men/women who serve under his command actually are proud to do so (unlike many other Imperial Officers), Thrawn is praising the Commander of the squadron those two TIE pilots originate from and the pilots themselves for fulfilling their task.

Let's be real, we've seen force users pick up random light sabers and use them just as well as they'd use their actual sabers with their chosen crystal. I don't think it makes any real difference.
The first time is just Jedi ritual it’s not a necessity to go hunt down a crystal each time you have to replace a lightsaber. It’s just part of the training process.
Yea but for someones own personal lightsaber, it just seems weird. They just completely glossed over where the crystal came from.

@@emanymton713not necessarily. Either we don’t see someone make there second lightsaber, or we see a process for getting another crystal. Ahsoka was drawn back to Raada because of the 6th brothers crystals. Cal Kestis goes through trial after trial on Ilum to get another crystal. It’s not just training, they are always meant to be apart of them because they are a conduit for that individuals force
Somehow think that this might actually be his first Crystal. Because while the first lightsaber was destroyed on malachor the crystal was fully intact. We see it in the shots when he's on the ground right before Ahsoka comes in
When Ahsoka's blade gets cut, you said they were given to her by Anakin. That one was left on the planet that Ahsoka and Rex landed with the crashed Imperial Star Ship after the attack of Order 66. She lost one saber during the fight and left the other at the clones they buried. And isn't the daughter a part of Ahsoka now.

Padawan candidates go on a spiritual journey to acquire their first Kyber crystal but I would think the equivalent of a Jedi Knight would not be spiritual by training and able to adopt or adapt crystal they come across.

The term citation in the military verbiage refers to an “award” if you will. To give the fighter pilots captain a citation would mean kind of an official at-a-boy for commanding such galant pilots
As far as Sabine and the force, Kanan said that Sabine had ability but was blocking, Ahsoka abandoned Sabine because of fear of Sabine’s potential. Huyang did play done Sabine’s display of her potential but I always felt as more of a goad than deterrence.
And Sabine is supposedly a descendant of Tarre Viszla, which could also explain things.
Sabine was pretty much the third person right after Kanan and Ezra where she able to sense something in Rebels.
She kicked a "boulder" not knowing that it was Bendu in disguise.

About Abeloth, I thought the exact same thing. If she's meant to be imprisoned, why build a giant statue pointing right at her? Wouldn't it make more sense to have those statues with their backs to her, arms extended and palms facing outward, warding people off? Or better yet, have nothing at all, because those statues really signal there's something out there, and would do so even if the father wasn't pointing right at it.
in the mortis ark, the fathers temple has the same beacon light as the one Baylen saw
The sabers that Anakin made/modified for her (blue) are long gone. She got rid of them when she faked her death after order 66. Vader picked one up at the crash site. These blades she made from the crystals she purified from the inquisitor she killed in tales of the Jedi (white). The same blades she used in rebels 😎
The blade of talzin mcguffin reminds me of how maz kanata got luke skywalker’s lightsaber. Basically for the sake of fanservice, the plot chooses to bring back a famous existing thing without stopping to consider how that thing ended up there. Star Wars is full of such things. It’s kind of the “somehow palpatine returned” of in-universe objects and things.
Now to be fair in some cases, you do get a proper explanation down the line. We did eventually learn how Gideon ended up with the darksaber for instance.
Ahsoka's lost sholto in this episode wasn't from Anakin, she built new ones after purging the crystals. Vader found at least one of the blue blades at the crash site after the end of CW s7.

Assuming the the Mortis gods had anything to do with building the statues, for all we know the mad Zeffo leader could have built them to mock the three Mortis gods trapping Mother and he couldn’t open her tomb or cage because he was not balanced, so he left a marker for someone who could.
Skeleton screw is next. I can’t wait to see what they do with that. They as well went more practical with miniatures with their ships.

Thrawn is once again underestimating the Force where Ahsoka is concerned…her connection to the Daughter of Mortis…this miscalculation may come back to bite him in the end…so he only knows the information on Ahsoka that the Inquisitorious had on her…THAT one oversight will again hurt him in the future.
could it be that ezra found the kyber crystal from the gates of the WBW same place where Baylan was looking at? And also this pose another question, Did ezra see that same mountain before. Surely being stranded on that planet he would've encountered the same force that was calling Baylan. And if so, wouldn't he shared that info with Ahsoka? It just seem too odd for a strong force user like ezra not able to see that place.
This is my go to channel for analysis. 👍 Shin’s story arc doesn’t get much of a discussion though. I think there is a sort of symmetry with Sabine - her own sort of nemesis - which is fascinating.
I would say Anakin/Darth Vader is the father, Ahsoka is the daughter (apprentice of Anakin), Baylin is the father (apprentice of Darth Vader, Dave's version of Starkiller?). I think Shin is going to be possessed by the Mother.
I think the statues were initially built to point to something good, but then the good thing was corrupted by the Mother. The Mother stayed, the Mortis three left to the main galaxy.
I have said it before, and I will say it again, because the Empire would have made getting new kyber crystals difficult, Huyang and Ahsoka probably collected them, because they knew that anyone in need of a new saber may need a crystal.
Fanfic also has a concept, probably based on canon like Ahsoka's white crystals, and Luke using his father's saber, that a handed-down crystal can grow used to a new owner, through exposure, and meditation.
While I think Phasma was an uderwhelming character, it is at least a grounding for there being women in the stormtroopers.
I think the relationship between Thrawn and the Witches was one of mutual usefulness. Thrawn is willing to transport them, of they call for someone to bring the equipment to get them home, andd the Witches help Thrawn as long as he transports their people to Dathomir in the main galaxy. Really, that deal may be ended once the Dathomiri caskets have been transported to Dathomir, and a new deal will have to be drawn up.
I think Morai gets around because she is a straight-up Force manifestation.
In the prequels there are spare sabres all over the place. I don't think it truly matters. If you are sensitive you can use it. If not, you are Mando, and slice your own leg.

Omn1 your wrong, "the Moirai" are the 3 Greek Fates, that even the Olympian Gods could not go against, there story is from about 1500 BC to 300 BC. The oldest known written version of Morgan le Fay only go's back to 1150AD.
