What a great game... played it with a friend while I was in middle school who has now unfortunately passed away. Nice looking remaster.
My condolences man, but yes nfsu was a great time!
@@DigitalDreamsyt Thanks. Thanks for the videos, you do a great job.
Gotta love how even the cars' shadows became a mirror that shines as much as the car.
I used to really enjoy this game. I enjoyed it enough to buy the sequel, but seeing the current remastered graphics is a bit disappointing, but I respect the developers for the fun they had back then. It's been a long time since I've played it.
This is an unofficial rtx remix mod remaster
the lamp posts doesn't light up the car bro 💀
car surface is almost entirely black because of this, you can only see reflections.
I still prefer the rasterized rendering, but this is really great, the materials have been reworked and the mod is far better now. I think the textures looks too much slick, in combination with the low poly asset geometry it's still looking weird . I don't know if normals are used but it can help to add more inner details in the scene lighting without dealing with geometry to get rid of this "slick" look.
The image in general is noisy because it's either that or too much blur, all the head lights are artifacting hard in motion because information from several frames is used to compute the scene's lighting, similar story when the camera changes - it takes several frames to accumulate enough information to not look like shit, which if you play this game properly is a big problem, all the street lights don't bounce off the cars because they're moving objects and that'd add a lot of work so all the cars are really dark, much darker than the road surface even, everything is super reflective because it's an old game and there's no roughness information for anything, there are noticeable FPS drops. Basically, it's a tech demo that is kinda sorta playable, but the current hardware is much too weak to do it properly and the shortcuts taken only demonstrate the work the original devs had to put in for the game to look good at launch.
Idk if my card can handle this much shiny
Shiny
The "make everything look wet because that way we think it looks great" treatment.
Actually the original looks much more shiny everywhere
