- Monument Valley Full Game - there aren't many games with integrity for mobile (iOS or Android) devices, much less good puzzle games. But Monument Valley breaks that mold, bringing us amazing optical illusion perspective puzzles inspired by M.C. Escher.

I should mention that there are several VERY good puzzle games with a mobile version (A Monster's Expedition, Snakebird, and The Room series for example), but if we're talking mobile-exclusive puzzlers, Monument Valley is hard to beat.
It is a great game, I wanted to mention. there is a bonus level with this game that you didn't see, I know you wont go back on stream to play it, but I suggest playing it on your own time if you have time, it is a very fun level
I would recommend you try Transmission; it's ACTUALLY free on Google Play! Although I'm not entirely sure it'd be fun to watch, it's definitely fun to play!
@@rob7104whowouldusethis I think he said that at the end of the vid
Will you play "understand"(steam game)?
It is a great grid-based puzzle game.
If you liked "the witness", you will love it.
SO COOL PUZZLE
hey dude you're late monument valley already has two dlc and a sequel
Monument valley was the first puzzle game I ever bought, and I had since forgotten about it until this popped up. Glad to see it make a return and even happier that Tyler is the one with whom that return is associated.
Same here!
I got both games free from sale
Mv 1 is gold, but mv 2 is a little bit easy
Mv1 is probably my favourite mobile game
first puzzel game as well and this video brings back so many memories
same
I remember playing this when i was younger, the nostolgia is real
Yea me to I loved the game
Yoooo ssaaaaammmmeeeee
Indeed it is
Wow... Beat this in a day when i was... In 4th grade. Don't remember how old I was...
same
23:04 "Is that a dodecahedron?"
Well, it has been made clear that Tyler doesn't play D&D
it's an ikosahedron
@@teppomultimaki1074 icosahedron with a c
I looked at the shape and thought 'D20', and then Tyler brings out the math name.
well, Dodecahedron is a D12, Icosahedron is a D20
OMFG I was looking at the large cube the whole time and was like "are you trying to count the cuts in it?"
I have never been so amused by being in the verge of throwing up
As someone who owns a VR setup, i can only imagine how horrible it would be to get so easily motion sick that you almost throw up from monument valley. I'm so glad i'm a bit more tolerant than that.
protip: never try VR, if you almost throw up from monument valley you'll definitely throw up from VR, at least if you don't have comfort settings cranked to the max
@@sodiboo I disagree monument valley is definitely worse
It’s not nearly this bad if you’re in control. I have never had any issues playing this game, but Tyler got to Chapter X and I had to look away.
I’ve played and never got close to throwing up
It's amazing that this game managed to get me emotionally invested in a stone pillar.
Brings me back to the companion cube days
Perspective based games are always great, this seems like a cool new series.
Not exactly a "series", he already finished the game and the dlcs should take no more than 20 minutes to finish, which actually takes longer to complete than all of monument valley 2
It's always great when games take advantage of the fact that they're not restrained by reality.
It’s not very new, I remember playing this game years ago on an old iPhone 4s
"The Enrichment Center reminds you that the Weighted Companion Totem will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak."
7:00 That'd be Euclid, since this is non-Euclidean geometry
He’s talking about the gravity
actually the geometry is perfectly euclidean
@@Bilndmann Yes you're right
@@aa01blue38 Oh shit for real, if so then I'm double wrong
@@aa01blue38 penrose triangle (and other variants) are non-euclidean
"the triangle of- OH MY GOD WE TILTIN" - Aliensrock 2021
I remember originally playing Monument Valley YEARS ago and loved them so much, can't wait to see how you like them
Totem buddy just scooting along at the bottom of the ocean.
When I played I almost had an emotional breakdown when totem friend moved on
Also when he was smashed by the stone
this will be very unlikely to be seen by Tyler but I do recommend him Opus Magnum, neat puzzle game with a lot of bonus content, quite brain scratching and there's leaderboards as well so he can go for the least area used, least gold used, or least cycles taken.
He finally did it
@@OrchidAlloy Yeap, I knew he would eventually, thanks for having my comment in mind for all this time
I used to play Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 so many times when I was so much younger, still one of my favorite games! It is just so calm and peaceful and make me happy whenever I play it. I also remember the first time I saw yellow totem dude fall into the water, I cried.
He did Monument Valley. My life is complete.
I remember watching Jack play this and it blew my little-kid mind. His playthrough is what interested me in music-design and non-Euclidean geometry. Now whenever I see Monument Valley pop up, I get a childish giddy feeling.
24:55
"I keep forgetting, look for circles"
so this is basically The Witness again
I remember playing this as a kid. So many memories. I was so sad when her friend totem was left behind. That’s how you know a truly good game.
The Monument Valley games are absolutely phenomenal. I love them very dearly. The time, love, passion, effort and thought that went into each individual level. The use of impossible geometry and architecture, and having to manipulate it to open paths to continue.
The OST, and the ambiance it carries.
And above all else. The stories for each of the 2 games.
Ustwo Games really did knock it out of the park with these mind-bending, illusion puzzle games. And I can't thank them enough. Absolutely gorgeous...
29:59 That would be awesome. A VR Experience of Monument Valley, where you are Ida, and on your non-dominant hand is an interactable map of the area, your dominant hand is how you move the level, and then you navigate yourself. I think that would be a worthwhile experience to wonder at.
That would sadly be impossible, since most of the illusion tricks rely on fixed-point orthogonal projection, which doesn't translate to VR.
this game was literally my childhood, I love this game and I'm so happy you're playing it
4:41 this trick is often referred to as the “impossible triangle”. There are similar tricks like it with squares, ovals, and pentagons.
bruuuuh tyler thinking the crows are gonna kill him is just making me laugh way more than it should
probably because as a kid i learned they didn’t kill very quickly as i just tried to barrel thru them with reckless abandon
Do they just block you from moving?
@@WanderTheNomad yeah pretty much
@@WanderTheNomad they also scream at you
Played this game a week after it came out in 2014 and it still holds up today. Absolutely legendary game, and it’s always nice to see you playing games I’ve played before :)
This was one of the first games I ever got when I was really young and you have made me remember playing this great game so thanks!
Its been so long since I've played or seen this game in a while, its nice to see it again
One of the things guaranteed to put a smile on my face is looking at my notifications and seeing a new video from you... thank you for being awesome :)
I was waiting for you to play this thank you so much
23:07 the glorious Icosahedron, the best polyhedron by far
I beat this a long time ago and loved it! I am glad you're playing it.
This was the first fun puzzle game I played after you reminded me that puzzle games are fun. Glad you've gotten around to it.
dude you brought back so many memories with this... I miss 2014-2015
Yessss!
This game is awesome! I used to play it a few years ago. I’m super glad that you’re playing it!
the box is by far my favorite level i just love how it looks
i remember when I was 8 i played this and cried when the totem friend drowned
There is a mobile game called black box and it’s basically a puzzle game where you use your entire phone to solve it. Like turning your phone upside down and using the volume buttons it’s a really fun puzzle game.
Yoo he’s playing the puzzle game of all puzzle games
They are very fun, excited to watch him play these games
Finally you have played this, this series of games is great, both monument valley and monument valley 2. Its worth it to get the Bonus levels if you want an extra amount of challenge
Oh my god monument valley, I almost forgot about this amazing puzzle game. Definitely happy to see you play it!
used to play this when i was younger around 6 or 7 and loved it so glad i found them again
Same
i've played both, the graphics and sound effects, paired with the way it all came together, was really beautiful. Everything is so well done, there is nothing bad in any aspect of the game.
I love this game and did not expect you to play it. Would love to see you do the DLC's and sequal
I played this game years ago but it was wonderful. Glad to see my favorite creator picking it up.
I played this game when I was like eight and you just unlocked so much nostalgia for me
32:17 "I can create the weird fucky thing!" - Aliensrock 2021
Keep up the great work, I love the content!
both my dad and I finished monument valley (the first and second game) multiple times and we honestly had so much fun! Great memories :)
I like that you said that about Ida looking like a bird from the very beginning, depending on the perspective. It was a really interesting take.
I've been basically addicted to impossible shapes (the perspective mind-frick things), and seeing this video made my day
Another good perspective puzzle game is Hocus. It isn't as most pretty as this, but it is pure, simple, and relaxing, when it isn't twisting your brains.
Love the longer vids!! Pls more!!!
im vibrating, i love this game and am so glad you're playing it, can't wait for more!
Monument valley was one of my favorites
I have played this game and its amazing. Hope to se a full series on this game
oooh the nostalgia, i remember playing this game at the release. one of the most beautiful games on mobile that i have ever played. including Alto's adventure and the Room series.
So happy to see puzzle content!
I absolutely love monument Valley, so glad you are giving it a go!
My dad and i used to challenge each other on our old ipad1 to see who can get further in this game when i was really young
this really hits me in the feels
I love this game so much! I really hope you’ll have fun with this because it’s beautiful and, even with the sparse dialogue, the story just about made me cry as a kid. You’ve brought back nostalgia I forgot I had.
Hey Tyler. I remember playing this really good puzzle game on the xbox 360 known as ilomilo. whenever i look at it i get this huge sense of nostalgia and i think you should try it.
i do not know if it is on any other platforms but you should try to play it any way possible, even if you dont stream it i just find it as an astonishing game
I love how terrified he is of the birds eating him.
HOLY SHIT YES! MONUMENT VALLEY! ONE OF MY FAVOURITE MOBILE GAMES ON ANDROID
I rmb the days when I played this game, so nostalgic
I remember playing this on my Amazon Tablet kid profile back then, so much nostalgia
Oh, I remember this one
It is very fun. Reminds me of some of the fun perspective games on coolmath, speaking of which what will you do to do puzzles on cool math games
One of my favorite mobile puzzle games is Campfire Cooking, maybe just because I love campfires and s’mores.
This game was free on the iOS store a long while back and it's one of the best mobile games I've ever played, incredibly unique and interesting, cool to see more people discover it
Eyy, you played this game! I love them both
"The triangle of OH MY GOD"
That's right guys, it's now called the OMG Triangle.
oh man what a nostalgia trip!!! its been years since ive seen this
Tyler, there a really cool puzzle game on steam called hexceed that’s basically minesweeper but with hexagons and it’s super fun to play, you should check it out
Glodesweeper has the same, but on a globe. It also has triangles (which are quite a bit harder...)
everybody gangsta till 4d minesweeper
there's another game like this called hexcells
I've solved one of the color-changing cubes, however, what I'm never ever gonna do is try it with 3D glasses on
Legit I just replayed both games a two weeks ago on a car ride then you happened to play it. Cool coincidence. I've played a while ago on and off then I redid the levels a couple weeks ago.
FYI if a crow person gets near you they just scream in your face and block your path.
like a karen?
This reminds me of FEZ. Love your content! Stay awesome!
this game was my childhood! when i played it i remember crying when the totem went underwater, lol
i can not express to you how much i love monument valley
Mind melting mechanics, check.
Bridge building with a yellow material, check.
Obscene amounts of trial and error, check.
Now where’s that Tetris piece?
oh my god finally, been waiting for somebody to play this one
The nostalgia here is insane.
I remember being completely absorbed by this game when I first played it. Truly a new perspective on mobile games!
“Sacred geometry was our pride, our downfall.”
“Eh, for me it was calc.”
The real birds are the totems we meet along the way.
that staircase, there is a plastic snake toy puzzle that folds & twists just like that
“Our sacred geometry was our pride, our downfall.”
Aliensrock “ehh for me it was more calc”
Normal object: (exists)
This game: we don’t do that here
how have u never played them before, i literally played both game 3 seperate times, such a good game
I played this on my tablet when I was 8, and surprisingly, I actually beat it.
You know if tyler's laughing at the first puzzle in the vid, he's going to have a gorgeous time
This honestly feels like a lot of the Fez mechanics but just more interesting when it's isometric rather than 2d. It'd be cool if there was a full more open world type game with various islands like this.
15:43 just dumped totem friend like Mario dumps Yoshi
I wouldn't say that. It's more that Totem Friend decides to follow you into the ocean on it's own. Big difference is we didn't force Totem Friend to jump in after us, unlike when you just springboard off of Yoshi's back, yeeting him in the the abyss ourself.
@@michaelwatkins4155 true, you make a good point
I remember playing this in the apple store sample ipads. I stayed there for a whole hour and wasn’t bored at all
I got this game in early 2015. The nostalgia... It's unreal.
Bruh this was my childhood, it got me into puzzle games
Monument Valley was the first ever mobile game that I desperately wanted to buy, to the point where I begged my mom to buy it (she didn't in the end). I gave up after a few days of desperate begging, and after like 4 years, I saw it on the app store for free for a limited amount of time. I Iiterally jumped in joy, downloaded it, and spent the next 6 hours playing through the entire game. It was as amazing to play as I imagined when I first saw it.
I played this a long time ago and loved it!
Monument Valley was the first online game I EVER remember playing and I had forgotten its name until I saw this (Tho that was back in 2021) I never thanked you then so... Thank you...
Yooooo this video has a clip button, you got picked for the limited alpha test!
I didn't even notice that only certain channels have the feature currently. The two I've seen so far(including Tyler's) are both gaming channels.
I am making a puzzle game as a project and my professor showed me this. Great game.
I remember playing this game on pc i think, or one very similar to it, it looks really fun!
