Making A Monette Mouthpiece (Rim, Cup, & Throat)

This is how the rim, cup, and throat of a Monette mouthpiece are cut on one of our CNC lathes. This one is a Prana Resonance B6 S1. The video is sped up 8X so that you can see the process in only one minute. There are many other steps involved in making Monette mouthpieces.

I got two monettes resonance and unity. They are amazing, always in tune but you must be relax all the time. If your a tense they do not sound well.

How do you make sure the mouthpiece is resonant/is it instrument specific

It is collected and periodically taken away for recycling.

How precise is the cnc lathe?
