Lived here in north georgia in the Canton area since 1998 and never even once visited Stone Mountain. We go to Helen once or twice each year and of course we’re on Alatoona quite a bit. It looks nicer and more wooded than I’d imagined.
We love this campground. We camped there way back in the 80s as a kid and just a few years ago. Lots to do within the campground, museums and the later show! Thanks for sharing.
Hello Jerry, You have been promoting Brooklin Bedding. And yes, I bought one and love it. Can I request that you go their factory and ask them if you can show your viewers how the different mattress types are constructed and their differences? I really don't understand how each series differences and how to envision how they would feel at sleeptime. In my case, I listened to you and bought signature series. Thanks for sharing this rv campground.
Thanks so much and we are grateful for Brooklyn Bedding sponsoring some of our videos. We had our mattress before sponsorship and loved it so much we added one at home. It would be great to tour the factory and if we have the opportunity to visit Arizona, we’ll certainly ask for a tour. I suspect how a mattress feels would be subjective and differ based on an individuals preferences. Good news, they have a great chat function. They were helpful guiding us to the type and comfort level we wanted and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks for watching and appreciate the idea!
Thank you for this video! Were headed there this next long weekend for a conference. We decided to camp there and I get a chance to Golf at the Stone Mountain Golf Club. I thought I was going to be bored while my bride was in her work “realm”, but I can tell I’m going to enjoy every inch of this beautiful Park. Excellent production Sir. Again, Thank you.
Great overview. I am recommending this video to my son. He has two kiddos ages 4 and 6 who would love to give one of the rental RVs or a yurt a try. They're in the Peachtree City area so only a short drive away. Looks like plenty to keep them busy for a long weekend or even a week. Thanks!
We been here ourselves. Great park. Glad you are showing how nice it is. Love the shaded from the trees. We used it as a home base around the Atlanta area. Also the park itself is worth a day trip. Only downside not the best place for satellite TV or satellite internet. You will need to use cell base connections here, but the park is so worth it.
It can be a little steamy in the summer. Oddly, it was unusually comfortable after 7/4. Nice breeze too. When we left it did get a little sticky late in the day. Spring and fall is a great time to visit with the flowers then leaf change.
I am local, and it seems like I remember the grist mill used to be open. I really haven't been there in a while, since it was privatized. I have heard good and bad lately. Enjoy your videos.
Thanks so much. Appreciate you watching. We spent 10 days at the park and shopped off exits 7 and 9. Not one time did we experience any issues where we felt uncomfortable with our surrounding at the Park or the two exits nearby. On the north side of exits 7 and 9 we shopped at the big box stores and there’s a number of nice restaurants. Most of the area looked upscale and you could tell by the clientele. Unfortunately all cities now have a bad element. We didn’t see any thing in or close to the Park that looked sketchy. Joan and would go back tomorrow.
I Love this , Vicki and I have been trying to figure out where we can go camping this fall . Y’all have answered our question. We have a 38’ Jayco Eagle Premier with apposing slides in the living room with fireplace and entertainment center at the end . It is very nicely laid out floor plan . Thank y’all so much for your help with this video.
When we get back to Georgia in December we may look at staying there for a month ? Just don’t like staying that close to the Atlanta area . Doctor appointments an holidays. We are in Washington state hot and dry. Will be in Montana next week slowly working our way back east. We used to go to the Yellow Daisy Festival every year have missed it for the past two years since we have gone full time. The granite goes for miles away from Stone Mountain we lived in Rockdale County for 35 years a lot of it there Panola Mountain state park has a lot of rock real nice place to visit not that far from where we lived.
You may want to call vs online for a month. They state a 14 day limit, but may stretch the stays off season. I’ll mention, December is a busy time at the Park. The blow out the Christmas activities. It a great time to visit. Safe travels.
Great video of Stone Mtn. We have been exactly where you took us. Nice to look back. Was wondering how long you have had your 5th wheel and where do you recommend we look. We have a Jayflight and would like something a little bigger. Thank you
Thanks so much. This is our second 5th wheel. If you’ve seen videos before 2022, we had a Heartland Gateway that we traveled in just shy of 8 years. We purchased the Montana in Feb 2022 at Lazydays in Tampa. They treated us well, but we live to far to use for any warranty work. We use a local RV dealers who doesn’t sell Keystone, but is certified to do the work.
I through that there was only one campground at Stone mountain. Me and the wife drove around that area. We only visited the one campground and it was out dated and nasty. The sites were very small and if the vs.per tires were off 6 inches the camper would fall off the ledge. We were no impressed. I didn't know that there were other campgrounds in the area.
We were there for 2 weeks starting July 5th, probably one of the campgrounds busiest season and the sites were full during our entire stay. We saw nothing that was nasty. The staff and camp hosts were daily going through each campground area to make sure each site was clean for the next arrival. There are differences in each of the camping areas from primitive to heavily wooded to premium. Some have been up upgraded, and a few could use a little road repair. Nothing we experienced would detract from our stay or retuning in the future. I attempted to show the differences in each camping area and it like most, the more spent on a site provides increased amenities.
Is this campground part of Georgia State Parks? We would love to go check it out but we like to travel non interstate with our camper. This was a great video and you did a great job in showing all it has to offer.
Pick your sites with care. The last time we camped here in our RV, there was a 15 foot drop off immediately behind my camper. The site was so narrow I had to readjust my RV several times in order to get my slideouts on each side to open completely, and then it left us with maybe 18 inches to walk by our RV and get to our door. We will never go back.
We rode out there from Atlanta on bicycles, pulling a trailer behind with all of our gear. Hilarious to see how many people drag those giant vehicles just to go camping.
There’s weekend camping and then those of us living in something small most of the year. Appreciate both RV experiences as well as the extra space in our 42 foot 5th wheel month after month.
My wife and i love Stone mountain campground, we camp there every year for Thanksgiving. Have fun.
Thanks

As a child we camped there in the 70’s and loved it. We actually only lived 10 miles away from the park. Love the park and climbing the mountain.
It is a jewel. We call it the oasis in the middle of Atlanta.
@@iLoveRVlife Back about 15 plus years ago I would climb the mountain at least 1-2 times a week. Enjoy your travels.
@rharbin1 That was a feat! Appreciate you watching.
We stayed in the site by the Bridge in section L. That was a bit over a year ago. Great campground!
It sure is!

Thanks. Perfect for the family that wants to experience the RV lifestyle. And, so much for the kiddos to do. They’ll have a great weekend.
It's quiet a walk across " The mountain ". I love the laser shows! I bought the 30 amp soft start . Got a $ 25.00 discount! Thanks Jerry!! Nice vid!
Thanks so much.
Thanks Jerry for the tour. Looking forward to camping there some day.

It is a beautiful campground. We’ve only been there in December. Its not north enough for summer 🥵

Thanks for watching. The laser show was busy, but the park settled down that weekend.

Beautiful place but make sure all your valuables are safe and secure, and have eyes in the back of your head
We were there 15 days. Met great folks. Never had an issue.
It’s a shame that the condition that all the attractions and areas used to be in much better upkeep. I still enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching
Hey y’all
Have you ever stayed on BLM land or LTVA?
We haven’t.
Thanks
