As a Canadian i really appreciate you sharing this mans story, i had heard of him but not in depth like this thank you
You should check out the story Leo Major eh...
Francis pegahmagabow is true badass. Anyone that can run into the line of fire to help his comrades deserves respect. Rip soldier you are truly remembered.
Under, fire, the gas had them pinned, Pegahmagabow invoked the spirits of the wind!
Under fire a ghost that roams the battlefields!
Move between the lines!

@Michaell Alexander I think trying to fight for the country that gave you rights, life, etc deserves some respect.
@Michaell Alexander nice pfp I love that album, and the causes in war don't deserve respect but the soldiers who fought for their country do.
@Michaell Alexander true it kinda deadly and people killed eachother
@Michaell Alexander Its about the fact that they risked and lost their lives so you didn't have to, although ww1 was a hard to understand conflict, imagine what would have happened if our forefathers didn't fight in WW2 and stop the Nazis. Respect is just a way to say thank you to a generation who laid down their lives for their friends and family.
Sabaton, Simple History, the Infographics Show and Extra History. I can’t thank these guys enough for showing us what most of my history classes couldn’t. A great thanks to all of you, especially you Infographics. 😎

Important correction: no french or English troops were in that 16k casualties in the final attack on pashendael itself. All Canadian troops.
I’m pretty sure the Canadians are the most underrated army in the Great War
Yet also carried the allies so much.
And Leo Major our favourite pirate
The Australians did well too.
I’m fairly certain that the UK just colonised the places that nobody else would to breed hardened soldiers.
Seems legit
And a loyal Allie that has fought beside the us in every conflict and war the us and stumbled into.

The Objibwe are no joke. A family friend of ours said that after the wounded knee standoff in 1973, dennis banks hid out on the reservation on Objibwee grounds. He said that the FBI would not dare set foot on the rez, because they new it would be a fight to the last man.

We need more WW1 stories since it was probably the most brutal war in human history.
Nah, WW2 is still listed as being more destructive, deadly, longer, and larger in scale.
@@iliadnetfear2586 I believe he meant its brutality by generals and commanders still used 18th and 19th century war tactics against very new technology ie. tanks, machine guns, gas, grenades, better artillery, etc.
@@Daidou_ch but that still doesn't make it the most brutal compared to other wars.
Yes, generals trying to adapt to modern weapons and modern tactics can cause confusion among the ranks, and executions by the Allies were probably more frequent in WW1, but France and Britain trying to employ ww1 tactics at the start of ww2 is evident that that kinda confusion is an issue when starting any new war.
Especially compared to going from traditional war to asymmetrical warfare like what we've been fighting since Vietnam.
During the early days of Iraq, there were US forces deployed on bogus scouting missions, with the real objective being to collect data on ambushes directed at such forces.
Bruh WW1 was far worser then WW2, no one would choose to fight in WW1, they would rather choosen WW2. Instead of being artilleryed, gases, having to be in trenches for the whole period of the war, mud, rats, fleas, diseases, dead bodies across no man's land, forest being caught on fire. WW2 only seems worse because of the amount of battles/events happened and losses, but everyone knows WW1 was just to horrible and chaotic and that the life style there was so bad. And the rule such as no retreating leading to friendly fire, and don't forget you'd had to charge into enemy fire against machine bunkers otherwise you'd be shot by your own officer, who doesn't care about, if you die, as long you make it into enemy lines.
Not only that, I don't recall there being human experimentation like what Germany and Japan did.
The saddest thing about trench warfare is that people were so mentally fatigued seeing an ally drop in front of you is normal but when they see the 2nd person drop they know now it’s direct fire. Or In the line of Fire

Moral of the story: Canada produces the best snipers.
sabaton fans when Francis pegamagabow invoked the spirit of the winds:
In the second Battle of Ypres, to be precise, on 22 April 1915 at 6 o’clock in the evening, the Germans deployed chlorine gas for the first time and NOT mustard gas! In addition, the chlorine gas was used that night not against Canadian soldiers, but against French and Algerian soldiers. The Canadians moved later to close the giant gap in the front line, which arised, after 1300 French and Algerians died from the chlorine gas and the rest of the trench’s crews to flee. Mustard gas was not used until 1917. Mustard gas was deployed in the night of 12 to 13 July 1917 by the Germans, again near Ypres, against british troops.
I remember this guy from your top ten best snipers, but I still like Lady Death and Simo Häyha.
