    This is really good information and explains how grip can ruin the putting stroke, for me, too much internal rotation of the hands has caused consistent pulls. Problem completely fixed by externally rotating the hands then gripping the club.

    Simply... yes! I think vague elbow position has contributed to my putting inconsistency. This will be a giant step in the right direction. Thank you.

    And I adopted Jack Nicklaus’s technique, elbow behind the Putter line and push back with the left hand and push through trying to keep my putt line foot alignment parallel, I was a five handicap then, averaged about 30putts per round.

      @judehobbsgolf I've been having an absolute nightmare with my putting like I couldn't break 90 and I play off 9. But not today with my left elbow closer to my left side boom 78 . 7 over par. Came back in one under par. So, thanks for the tip. It Weirdly helped my chipping, just feeling more connected cheers

    Thanks for this video. I have been trying to workout for ages why my putting stroke often had a slight wobble and inconsistency. After taking your advice and keeping my elbows in my putting stroke feels much more stable and consistent.

    Light bulb moment for me, i know without my putter, that i am internal, thanks, keeping my elbows in close is something i have to think about doing, now i know the reason why, it does not happen naturally Great tip, much appreciated 👍

    Really nice to get an explanation on the 2 types
    I’ve been going back and forth from both just didn’t know what it was called
    But I’ve noticed
    If I’m putting using inward rotation I don’t make good contact and short putts and hit it sweet long
    With outward I make good connection all the time ?
    Why ?

    • @judehobbsgolf
      @judehobbsgolf  7 місяців тому

      Outwards rotation you have more scope for a longer swing by, inward rotation your limited on length of swing.
      Inward rotation can lock you in and reduce arc which can be beneficial on short putts.

    Really useful video. However your final recommendation was confusing: at the start it seemed like you were recommending internal rotation as it was more connected with less room for arm movements. Then by the end, it felt like you were recommending external rotation to get that circular path. Can you clarify which you think is a better approach? Thanks.

    • @AndreeMarkefors
      @AndreeMarkefors Рік тому +1

      Internal rotation (palms of your hands turn internal) is where the elbows flare out and external rotation of the hands/lower arms is where the elbows get tucked inside, close to the body. So, internal vs external does not refer to elbow position directly.
      The preferred way is likely external rotation which leads to elbows close to the body.

      @@judehobbsgolf alright👍 i think I potentially fixed it, it’s to keep the arms somewhat neutral in position to your body, so when your arms start to get out of starting position, u rotate shoulder blades so that ur arms are always the same relative to your body pretty much. The worked for me atleast. Very hard to put into words. But I do think I’ve understood it now (potentially) a video would be really nice though👍

    Take your elbows out of it. Either do left-hand-low which eliminates the left elbow, or do right hand like a computer mouse on the "top" of the grip (not the "knob" but turn the right hand 90º anti-clockwise).

    I like a bit of right knee movement to follow through. Hands to follow through also towards target. Clubface as square as possible at all times.

    • @judehobbsgolf
      @judehobbsgolf  Рік тому

      Right knee movement is generally best to be avoided, every tour pro will have a very stable lower half of body, as this is the most consistent way to putt.

    If possible, find a professional in sound processing to help you tune your gear and software. I am not a native English speaker, although I speak English quite well. And still, I had REAL problems understanding what you are saying. You have a deep radio voice but your microphone or recorder messes it and it is really hard to understand words. And try to pronounce it a bit more clearly... It would be really beneficial.

      @@judehobbsgolf I've taken some time and it looks like it is all about the bass. When I watch on my phone, with those tiny speakers - there are no problems. When I watch on a computer with decent external speakers and a subwoofer - bad, really hard to pick up words. On TV set with decent sound system - terrible. Generally, few YT creators focus on TV audience - and in my opinion, it is a huge number of people. Think about it, it can be a great "selling point" for your channel.
      It seems you know what you are talking about, I would like to see you grow.

      @@barrymac1951 I'm talking about making a consistent strike....if you hit the putter consistently solid you can predict distance and that makes getting the correct line easier

    • @aliensarereal7832

      @@barrymac1951 that's a completely different topic although you are correct in your assessment. Practice on many different greens is the only way to do that. But if you can't hit the ball perfectly straight everytime, reading greens and ball speed will do you no good. All I practice in my garage now is hitting the perfectly straight repeatedly and have erased strokes off of my game. I used to miss putts because of what he is saying and I don't miss putts by a foot or more because of bad mechanics.
