WRISTS IN PUTTING with HACKMOTION | STOP 🚫 THE WOBBLE with the T-REX 🦖 DRILL

  • Do you struggle with putting? Is a wobbly putting stroke costing you valuable strokes every time you play?
When is comes to putting, the wrists play a huge part in how functional and repeatable your putting stroke is. The idea that there are “no wrists” in the putting stroke, or that you should remove all wrist motion in the stroke is completely inaccurate.
The degrees of freedom in the wrists (and other body segments) need to be managed as part of the entire putting stroke ecosystem and the ONLY way to truly do that is be measuring what is going on at the wrist level.
The HACKMOTION wrist sensor allows us to really measure what is going on at a level the naked eye cannot see. It also provides feedback in term of overall wrist movement patterns, as well as biofeedback to help players train with purpose and focus.
In this video, I will discuss some of the common issues and misconceptions many people face when trying to improve their putting performance. I will also share my favourite drill to help golfers develop a sound set-up with the body posture, the arm & the wrists to be able to produce a more repeatable stroke (and outcome). The T-Rex drill will help you find the ideal body posture for putting every time and build the correct arm and wrist structure to increase the consistency of your stroke.

Rob, you’ve done it again. I played today after watching this video this morning focusing on ulner deviation. 31 putts and no 3 putts. Made 3-4 ( 3-10 feet) and around the hole all day. Thanks brother, you’re the best!

I tried this and I made some really nice putts. I have tried the saw grip but have trouble on longer putts. I usually use a traditional grip for better feel. With all of jack’s victories I’ve often wondered why his putting style is rarely seen or taught. Nice lesson. Enjoyed it.

    Another excellent video Rob.
I grip the putter with both my forefingers opposite each other on the shaft. Your method seems a perfect combination with my grip.
    Cheers

This is money! I went out today just to practice putt and was all over the map, getting really hands’y turning the toe over considerably after impact, but once I did this it was a game changer

    Really interesting video Rob
I’m playing off 3 and I’ve never been a great putter averaging 34.9 putts per round this year which isn’t anywhere near good enough.
When putting poorly I feel the wrists are too much in play and hence suffer from distance control. I’ll try this and see how it goes.

Great tutorial. Would be great if you can create one for the takeaway in the putting stroke. The first split second where you are "pushing" back with your shoulders but the hands (and putter) in to follow without wobbling. Thanx.

Rob, great video as always. I've seen some of the best tour putters have had more of an upright grip and I've heard for years that its best to have the shaft aligned as though running up the forearm - as you point out in the video. I'm a 3 index, but have struggled with this and putting is probably the worst part of my game. I feel there is a ton of room for improvement. Any chance you plan to do a comprehensive putting video starting with grip(s), stance, technique, drills, tips (forward press vs. not) etc...?

I see you straddling the line before the putt and projecting the line through your right hand. Please tell me how to do this.

Two questions…do you use the prayer grip on your longer putts….25feet or longer, and do you have any data as to which style of putter is more reliable as far as outcome in making a consistent stroke ?

Hey Rob...really enjoyed this video. Like you, I have my elbows against my chest. Couple of questions...how tall are you? What is the length of your putter? Why causes me to not be able to keep their putter face still when I take it back on the backswing? Any ideas? Thanks Gerry.

Very interesting video, but the problem will remain if you wear bifocals.
Because keeping the face square at impact is only possible if the starting line is straight, but when wearing glasses the difficulty starts.
If you look up the line will be convex and concave if you look down.
Rob, if you have a solution to solve the problem "too" it would be welcome.

It is not serious, nevertheless, following your advice, now I use the T-REX drill, on the medium and short putts, and for the moment the line is maintained very well, because I am obliged to stand above the ball because, between the concave and the convex, there is a neutral zone, which is used to aim at the intermediate point and when I miss, I miss by a very little bit, which also satisfies me, even if I lose a point, not having the pretention to play to win money... 🤣Have a great holiday with your family and thanks for your videos, Rob.
