I've read this novel a couple of times. It feels less of a horror than a lot of its kind. Personally, I think that makes it better at what it is. It's one of my favourites.
That's great to know! A favorite series of mine is the Necroscope series by Brian Lumley. Those books have everything--horror, science fiction, fantasy, and thriller. So I'm all for abandoning genre to serve the story.
Yep. It's just wonderful. Merely fantastic. Simply gorgeous. I can't wait to get the numbered edition. And I think the most powerful drug known to Jeff will be the double dose of Numbered and AGE of RED DRAGON. I might need one of those needles that give a straight shot of adrenaline to the heart like in Pulp Fiction. I'll ask my wife to stand by with one and if I lose consciousness then she can just plunge it into my chest.
jeffingoff yes. I too am so excited for the limited numbered red Dragon. I didn’t order the AGE though. I remember when I ordered the numbered I actually thought, “gee I hope I don’t die before years end. I really want to see that book in my hands!” LoL.
@@frehleyrox I think that all the time. I'll preorder and then tell my wife "Well now I got to live until fall!" And she'll mutter something under her breath and ask me to sign some insurance papers and then she'll laugh under her breath.
Was able to order the AGE today. I missed out the first go around, but I got an email today saying they had a few extra copies left. I'm glad I didn't take my time because however many extras they had left sold out within 5 minutes.
That’s awesome!! When I looked, there were 23 copies available and I really considered buying another one to flip. But knowing that there were people like you looking to get a copy I’m glad I didn’t. I’d rather more people get a chance to own these books for published price. Congrats. I love this book!

I can't wait for the A.G.E.'s of Fahrenheit 451 and Red Dragon. I read the Hannibal series years ago and I'm holding off rereading until I get that beautiful A.G.E. in my hands.
I re-read Red Dragon after I got the Suntup ARC and it was a wonderful experience. I immediately jumped in and read an old paperback of Silence of the Lambs that I had laying around. I never read that one before. I'll lose my mind if Paul does that one.
Nice pickup, Jeff. I talked myself out of getting this one just because I think I like Dave McKean's artwork on the Folio Society's version just a hair more (although that first edition artwork for the jacket here is killer). Holding out for a sale to pick that one up. Need to retire my reading copy, which is a 1980's SFBC hardcover. I think you'll like it when you get to the actual read. I'm waiting anxiously on my ordered Suntup AGE copies of Red Dragon and Fahrenheit 451. The next time you whine to Paul about something, please add that your buddy Lee from The North Side wants "Brother" badly, but can't afford the $275 price right now (any non-numbered or signed... Scratch & Dent??). It's not likely, but I'm hoping the June book will be either the next Thomas Harris book in the HL series (The Silence of the Lambs), or another Ray Bradbury book (Dandelion Wine?). Later, Jeff.
That FOLIO SOCIETY edition is sweeeet. I was eyeballing that one hard, but ultimately passed before I even knew Suntup was publishing Misery. This Suntup AGE is really a fantastic production. And it'll be the one I read. I assume I'll love it the same way I loved Horns, Hill House, Brother, and Rosemary's Baby. I'm itching for those other AGEs as well. And downright shaking for the numbered editions. You can find Brother cheaper on eBay. And I shouldn't whine. It worked out well for me, but it's classless. If Paul does any of the other Harris books, the world will explode. But it will be worth it.

I figured people would probably think it was Jesus in singlasses. Yep--SINglasses. That was a typo initially, but I love it.

ALSO, I have a theory that The Big Lebowski is a remake of Roadhouse. Watch Roadhouse and see if you see the connections between the movies. TONS. But maybe you need to be stoned first. No matter. I can neither confirm nor disconfirm that presumption.

@@musashi-san____1409 No, Paul hasn't said anything and no one's brought it up. I don't think it matters. Both Horns and I Am Legend are fantastic productions, IMO. Though I imagine it had to do with cost? No idea. When you consider the quality for the price, the AGEs are worth more than they cost.
It's one of the best novels I have ever read. And reading it via this Suntup edition...say no more.

Mine is coming soon. Glad Paul was able to get rights to the vintage cover. Curious... was it made in China? I noticed the AGE's are made there.
As far as I know, only two AGEs have been printed in China. Horns and I Am Legend. I believe that Rosemary's Baby and Misery were both printed in the US.
