Speaking as someone who frequently deals with "analysis paralysis," I can weigh the pros, cons, ups, downs, ins, and outs all day long and far into the night. I can research niches and forecast trends and watch a bazillion tutorials. But when it comes right down to it, I have to remember: even if I make the "best" choice I can possibly make, it's not a guarantee of success. On the other hand, if I never make a choice at all, I AM guaranteed NOT to succeed. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is just get started. Don't get hung up on finding the "perfect" site (or product or audience or...). Pick a site, upload some designs, and see what happens. Then adapt, based on your observations. Trial-and-error may not be the most efficient route to success, but it's still considerably better than if you never try at all.
Hey Sarah! Thank you for this insightful video and more than that, thank you for featuring us in it :) You are totally right. There is no perfect print on demand company that would fit everyone, but choosing a POD company that offers products with different price ranges and also allows you to sell on different platforms doesn't sound like a bad idea :D Cheers!
You are the #1 best expert on UA-cam on both this topic and communicating it. I'm so tired of wasting my time with phony videos from creators who don't know what they are talking about. They just want to profit from views. It seems you genuinely enjoy teaching this subject to people. You also get straight to the point without the fluff. I love that! That's why you're the only one I recommend to artists.
Thank you for all of this information in one easy to follow video. I’ve watched over 25+ videos and counting, on different channels. It can be overwhelming but this video answers a lot of questions in a simplified form. Props to everyone taking the time to share what they know and a Super Thanks to you ☺️
After 2yrs of on/off covid lockdown in UK i'm finally hoping to launch my POD biz by Sept .. You Sarah, have been the N01 Inspirational educator on the subject matter and i will keep you updated here as i go. Thx for all your passion to help others and you deserve being paid and rewarded for all you do. Stay Blessed * A UK Fan :)
I just want to thank you for your content. I made my first t-shirt sale today, hopefully the first of many and entirely thanks to the fact that I stumbled on your videos. The best part? My store looks awful, my mock-ups are the default Printify ones, and I have done nothing to promote sales. So there's lots of room for improvement and nowhere to go but up!
I've been on Amazon for almost a year now and finally reached Tier 25 ... almost Tier 100 now and I can say it is a great feeling when a sale comes in. Eventually I will definitely create my own shopify store and sell the designs there... it is a great advantage not to worry about the rules Amazon and etsy have. What would you suggest when creating your own store, should I focus on a specific niche or just create whatever I think looks great ?
I think you are just brilliant, I wish I had it together like you girl, I'm all over the place. I got your course and I've been working hard on it for 3 days now. I am learning sooooooo much! I absolutely love the way you break things down so it's easily understood by laymen like me! You are an AMAZING lady, please keep up the great work! I wish I could send you a gift! Love from the USA, Arizona! Thank you 😙💖💖💖💖
I've watched hours of your videos, studied the Ebook online multiple times. Now I find myself considering joining the course just for extra support. However, I'm ready to get rolling on my print on demand business! Thank you so much for your help! I'll keep you posted on how I do! Looking well Sarah. Take care and once again I appreciate you!
"You are amazing, Sarah! Thank you so much, once again!" The reason I only post compliments to your videos is because you always seem to anticipate and answer my questions by the end of the video. See? You ARE amazing!
Great way to divide this topic up instead of ranking. Really helping me get into this lately, thanks Sarah. Hope the best for your shops & merch everyone!
So glad I came across your tutorials. They are by far, the best, most informative and fun that I've seen. Thank you for putting out this awesome content :)
I am addicted to your videos!!! I even sent your video to my son that is just 9 years old. The video about when you were 7 and your dad explained to you how to make money. It is a very, very inspiring video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I lost sales from Redbubble today because of the high shipping costs :( $50 worth of products with $60 shipping stopped the sales straight away. I am looking somewhere else to put my artwork on. Thanks for all your good advice. I am new to print on demand stores.
Lots of the information in this video i had to look for and search and search. This is so much great information in one place. Me and my fiance are just starting our print on demand journey so we can get out of corporate hell (no phun intended) so this is clarifying a LOT for us in that regard. Thank you. I ll be watching more of your videos in the days to come. Keep it up, appreciate it!
Thank you for this, as someone who has been interested in print-on-demand, only because of wandering over to your Channel and someone who has watched a lot of your other videos, this was some much-needed information all in one place!
... Will follow the cut of my cloth accordingly starting with free websites red bubble, then adding teespring, cafe press... Putting together interesting quotes, messages.... to go onto clothing, journals, drinking cups,.... A constant bombardment of inspiration, messages when they bring out the cup to make that drink, or checking their reflection in the mirror as they're wearing that clothing. About to open up the journal to journal...
Hi Sarah, can you please do a video with some info on how to approach customer returns on POD sites? What policies would you advise and what the pitfalls can be. Thanks!
Hey Sarah! Thank you so much for the video. I came really looking for alternatives to Etsy. I had set up a store on Etsy and it was immediately suspended before I even got started. Really thankful that there are other great alternatives.
Thanks Sarah! After using Red Bubble for a bit and getting poor quality merch (except the stickers and phone cases), I'm going to try Printful with Shopify. Keep it up!
Informative as always! A question that has probably been posted before: If i want to have multiple niches in my shop, should I set up multiple stores, one for each niche? Thanks!! :)
Merch by Amazon is the best option for me. I did need to buy my own products a couple times to keep my account open but I was able to start for free and eventually I started making sales and let them handle the advertising.
This was a great video and much appreciated. I may have watched this in the past and commented but oh well for a second if that's the case. I love that you went through each one and explained them in detail. So helpful to those of us trying to figure out how these multiple sites are different and similiar. Thank you also for including the bit about the quality of the t-shirts from the various options, that was a really helpful unexpected tip as well!
Thanks Sarah, Your videos are always helpful. Hoping to start a store after my trip to New Zealand next month. Working on designs while I wait. Have a great day!
Sarah, would you recommend writing a sort of business plan for doing Print-On-Demand, or should I just get right at it and start posting designs? Thank you for these videos, I love your content!
Thanks for such amazing video sarah, i wonder if you could drop the link of your video about print on demand for beginners. Last time i came i across your video and im finding it hard to locate the video where you talk about the basics on how to start t-shirt design that also includes how to create an account. Hope to watch that video again, thank you
Hey, Sarah! You're content is great. I'm wondering if it's feasible to operate two business models: One that is niche specific, growing a brand, having a store, marketing, etc. And one of cranking out designs, uploading on marketplaces and creating critical mass of products in various niches? If it's doable I assume you wouldn't want to sell the same products in both models - diff prices, diff quality, etc. Do you do both yourself? Is it feasible? (Also full-time job)
This is awesome info! One question still lingers, though. If I create my own store how are product returns handled? What about refunds? Who pays those things?
As you said that we have to pay upfront to printify and printful, But what will happen if a customer return the product? Are they gonna give us our money back?
this is most detailed bid i seen so far in this topic u cleared all my doubts also the doubts I dont have ... thank u for this vid now I can open my print on demand ... I am clear now

Hi Sarah, now that RedBubble has changed fees for sellers, which store would be the most compatible (in Australia) WITHOUT fees. I don’t make a lot, but I don’t want to give up 46% of my profits. Will you be doing a video on this topic?🇦🇺❤️
I'm about to get started on print on demand and I would love to hear a first had success story so if you're doing good, or even just okay please tell me what your experience was like and how you got there with a reply below!
My problem is finding a company who are comfortable with Public Domain art, and happy to sell prints only (no mugs orTshirst etc). Not only that, but how difficult is it to find artists who stop bleating about people who sell Public Domain art, suggesting are stealing someone else's work? Art covers a large canvas of skills. Some people are good marketing, spotting potential, running a business, working with Photoshop and other software. Everyone has a skill to offer. So which POD company is happiest with Public Domain art? That's my question.
Is it a good or bad idea to upload the same picture/saying/etc to various sites to hit people that frequent those different places, or should you focus on one site per item you want to sell?
Do on different site because people use different sites. For example, I connect my Facebook and IG and post the same content. Facebook group is a good idea to share your contents as well
Hello Sarah! I love your videos and see you as a lot more serious than most other t-shirt gurus. That's why I would like to know from you whether it is really important to have 100 designs in an RB shop or not. i also ask myself when you should open different shops and which different styles go well together. And if I focus on the target group of young mothers, can I also include topics that are generally relevant for young women, or does it confuse everything? it's really hard to create 100 designs for a very special niche ... so is it better to put different niches together or stay under 100 designs?
Hi Sarah! Is it bad to sell products for a couple of different niches in the same store? I've been doing some market research and I've narrowed it down to 4 (or 5) niches that I have some experience with & have some design ideas for. I can't seem to decide on a single one! 😅
Hi, have you noticed a massive drop in sales on Redbubble recently? It’s been awful firme for the last few months and I’m wondering if it’s a universal issue
Is nice to say etsy and other sites have big traffic but the point is what is the real traffic of your etsy store. Even if you choose the gold product if the traffic is zero then the sales are also zero.
Hi Sarah! I love your videos! I am getting ready to launch my first print on demand store! One question I have is how do i do multiple Niches? I have a few different ones I want to work on! Do I need separate stores for each niche?
Need help please Printify doesn't handle returns. The customer must ship the product back to the seller. If you're not in the US but selling to the US via Printify, how do you handle returns?
When I first got started selling online, I had no one to ask questions like this to: so I just had to be savvy & problem solve! There are many answers to questions like these, if you just take a moment to brainstorm ideas 🙏 here are 2: 1) Get the customer to send the item to a redirect service PO Box account. In NZ, we have a redirect service in the USA - YouShop. It's free to collect the item, and if you don't ship it back & get it redirected to you, they just donate the items. There are lots of these services around for different countries, and some USA-based ones that do it too. 2) Offer returns for faulty items & not change of mind. That way, you can just let the customer keep the item & refund/replace it, without them having to ship it back anyway. 🙏
My question is if you can add two different printers, say one in North America and one in Europe to print your stuff according to where the customer lives. The import fees, VAT and such adds up to a lot. Usually twice the amount of the item cost, which scares away customers.
Yes, you can. With Printify, you can configure it to reroute European orders, to a European printer. With Printful, it is automatic. All European orders will get rerouted to their European print factories (on the condition you've selected an item they can make/ship) with no setup required. Here is a map of Printful's locations: www.printful.com/about
