- 1. Candi Booker: dog Argos picks up three tennis balls in mouth
2. Paul McGee: dog Woofy picks MacDonalds over his favorite Burger King
3. John Flowers: dog Ceasar balances on a fiber glass rod
There's nothing better, and I mean nothing, than dogs. They are the most wonderful creatures ever. There's a saying I like. "Everybody thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong."
That’s one of the best quotes in history
Me too❤️
And Cats ..
Funny
One of my favourite quotes is something along the lines of “if the kindest souls were rewarded with the longest lives, dogs would outlive us all”. So absolutely true.
“Well…he picked the wrong one” always gets me 😂
Caesar looks like his dad was a bear and his mom was a schnauzer. What a good boy!!
at first because of the quality i actually thought it was a bear until they zoomed in LMAO
I thought a Neuph/Schnauzer Mix.
He’s like the shepherd dog on the old cartoon in the field with his lunch box. Wasn’t his name Ralph and didn’t he have a friendship with the fox who terrorized the sheep? 🦊 ? Didn’t his fur cover his eyes too like Caesar’s? At the end of the day they both punched out their time cards, too. Or was it the fox whose name was Ralph?
I was thinking the exact same thing
Thank you!
3-balls-dog got the most real laugh I've ever heard from Letterman.
Love Caesar and his owner’s laid back attitude, and great team work.
"Through the miracle of instant replay" and "This is an exhibition and not a competition so please NO wagering" ALWAYS cracked me up.
One of the best things letterman had on his show, stupid pet tricks! Nothing can bring a smile to your face like a dog can!
You can really tell Dave loves dogs.
Anyone who doesn't like dogs, should be burned alive.
@@SovereignStatesman umm... yeah that seems just a bit extreme
@@SovereignStatesman Light me up I guess.
@@SovereignStatesman that escalated quickly
This was back when it was still fun to watch late night television.
Except for a few old program reruns I don't watch tv anymore to much woke shit it is over for me.
Yes before it became so “PC”
That totally blows my joy high
Lol ikr?
i do not miss having a TV. But, man Oh man, I miss David Letterman. One of a kind.
@@carlosb1, congratulations to us! It's been 4yrs. for me, and I only missed the damn thing for the first couple of months. The flat screen is 60" but I do miss the soundboard system, but big deal! I'd rather watch an aquarium and some music. Please stay healthy and safe!
Dave’s love for dogs always came through in these segments. Thanks Don!
Damn!! A year too late with my comment.
Paul McGee is/ was an amazing human being. His love for Woofy was famous. His VW van was called The Roving Doghouse. Paul was a GREAT artist too. Loved what is now called Classic Rock. A great true friend. Paul & Woofy are now both in the Roving Doghouse in the sky. Love, Love, Love
That was a beautiful tribute to who were obviously a couple of dear friends...you were all blessed to have known each other. 🙂
He really seems like a cool guy. Someone to just hang out with or go on a road trip.
Sorry to hear that. But thanks for sharing their memory.
Did you know him personally?
I’m 61 now. I remember watching almost every episode of Dave and I NEVER MISSED Stupid Pet Tricks. Sad to think a lot of these people are gone now. Too funny his dog Wolfie changed his mind! 🤣
Wow that last dog, Cezar, looked amazing. He is a Handsome boy and very talented. I wish I could hug him 😘😘😘
Can't hug every cat
If my yellow lab were presented with two bowls, each containing a hamburger, his trick would have been how quickly he could have snarfed them both down his gullet.
Lol! We got our 1st lab (mix) 7 years ago. The 1st few months he was a bit out of control, chewing up kids retainers, glasses, cords, you name it. The vet told us, “He’s a Lab, they actually have a unique ‘food gene’ they’ve found that makes them do anything you want, even more so than other breeds. It’s why you often see overweight labs.” Sure enough we started using treats more, and he’ll do Anything you say now with zero hesitation 😂 even for just a kibble of his dog food. He’s the sweetest boy to everyone including his new little lab mix sister
I think you’re talking about my yellow Lab, Ginger. She could scarf down a burger in a split second. She even got her very own burger from MacDonalds for part of her dinner on our last night together, 6 years this coming June. She also got a sirloin steak! She was almost 14, a bit old for a large breed, and my very best friend and constant companion. She had a vocabulary of over 100 words, and would grab her special “babies”, doggy toys, from a huge pile, all by name, one at a time, as requested by me. Best dog ever! Miss my sweet girl!
@@Momcat_maggiefelinefanAww, thanks for sharing. We have a black lab that is so so gentle with our toddler. They have the sweetest bond.
Labs are one of the best dogs, which is saying a lot because all dogs are so darn good.
RIP to all these dogs. They were fantastic, especially Cesar.
I was watching this and thinking the same thing! Makes me tear up.
They could be still alive....
@@itsRabbitSeasonYo 35 plus years old? No.
Lol well damn that’s dark
You must be a hit at parties! ;-)
Notice how Dave's instinctive reaction to Ceasar falling off the stick was to steady him as he landed
HOLY CEASAR!!!! That was great!
Great Caesar's ghost
Haha when Caesar came out I thought it was a small black bear.
I see I am not alone 😂
“Please, no wagering” 😆
Argus, a performance to be proud of! 👏👍👍😊
Don Giller...you are very much appreciated for these.
Once we had a neighbor with a golden retriever. She was always bringing sticks, pine cones, and tennis balls that she wanted to fetch. She could do 3 too, kept trying for 4 but never got it. On the rare occasions that it would snow, I would throw a snowball for trick. Once the snowball hit the ground it would disappear....and the dog ended up shaking her head in disbelief, lol.
2021 and I still miss Dave.
Try 2024! I miss him every weeknight!
@@dallastrujillo7540 2024 and I still miss him
I love Caesar so much it hurts.
He was amazing!
That’s a cattle dog alright!
I have a cat that loves to pick up toys and carry them around. I once saw him pick up six toys at once and carry them into my office to play with them.
I love that. My late cat Felix was an unusually sociable cat and he walked on a leash. He also played a bloodhound named Killer in a play once. I miss him a lot. 🐱🐈😿
Last looked like an unidentifiable black moving shape 😂
Bigfoot
I miss those days
I love dogs, this is a delight.
I thought the last dog was bear too. It definitely reminds me of a circus bear when he balances on the plank.
I saw a black bear do that on a guard rail by a highway once. Looked like he was just watching the cars go by.
The failures are the best. Comedy gold.
Letterman - it was always worth staying up late to watch his show.
Three wonderful pets.I so miss my dogs....
I'm suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog when it doesn't like a person.
So many years passed. Still i watch them..
Haha in true Dave's stupid pet tricks segment Wolfy for the win😁😂♥️
Argus was featured on the cover of that classic Stones album, Exile on Dog Street.
omg caesar has a goatee😂😂
"You built this one yourself " lmao
Dave loves dogs, you can tell because he wants to pet them. People that love dogs are the best people.
Owner: Okay Argus, which ball do you want?
Argus: Yes!
Thank you, Don Giller..... Many awesome memories!
Does anyone else find themselves clapping at home alone? LOL
No but I slap my couch
i thought it was a bear
That's exactly what I thought. I'm like...wait...what the...
I had a yard full of kids, and a English Springer Spaniel. He could hold 3 balls in his mouth, so they had to play with 4....and they were all slimy. He was a happy boy too!!!
totally miss this segment.....brings me back.....
Caesar is a BAD ASS CANINE!!!
💯
#1 and #3 are among the best ever!
Back when life was alot of fun. Looked forward to watching when he was really funny and did alot of off beat non political comedy. I sure miss David Letterman.
He's still around! Not daily, unfortunately, but he has his Netflix interview show and other things he has done for them, his (I mean, Barbara's) channel which he appears on from time to time. He makes appearances on talk shows and podcasts. I'm grateful he didn't totally disappear.
3 tennis balls! That was cuteness overload
Caeser rocked the house! They were all a o awesome.
One of the best late night bits ever.
David Letterman loves dogs so when the dogs showed up on stupid pet tricks he was always very happy
Damn now I want to see Charles Kerault.
you know what it made me feel better, i looooooove this old tv show
This is great.
Miss Dave, he is so funny! Much better than today's late night!
I cpuld watch these(and Davids ad lib humor!) 24-7!
How time flys.
This is super wholesome : )
Its amazing that its 36 years old amaaaazing
Oh weird, I was just linked here. This aired on my exact birthday.
Back in the day when entertainment was true, simple and no politics late nite before bed.
My all time favorite stupid pet tricks.
"You really can't beat dog lips, can you?"
😂❤
Cesar was amazing !!
1.41 - that drummer has good timing!
a good quality in a drummer
Mark Swift Anton Fig
Dave genuinely loves dogs!
I remember Caesar the Bouvier doing that.
You can tell Cesar is a working breed, he doesn't care about much unless it's work.
Poor doggies are long gone now
Caesar at 8:04 that's real skill and impressive.
The partnership of dog and man ...is the most important event in human history...they helped us take over the planet
Caesar had the best tricks.
Imagine , this is a 1985 clip 🥺 that adorable dog with 3 tennis balls is sooooo cute . A very good boy❤
Never lean down and smile into a strange dogs face while reaching for it. Always offer the back of your hand first and go from there. I'm surprised he's never been bit.
No one cares nerd
The fonz would lol
The 3 tennis balls was seriously impressive.
Wow! Cesar is a magnificent bouv!
Damn, I miss Letterman.
Michigan has so many Labs, that every mutt is Lab and something else.
I live in Northwest Michigan. I will confirm this statement. There's a ton of Huskies and German shepherds, as well in my neighborhood.
@@Ir0nMa1d3n Yes I was given a Golden-Retriever/lab mix; and then ANOTHER one, completely unrelated.
Hail Cesar!
This is why we have the internet
God I miss him back when he was funny as hell !
What a beautiful smile 😂
you can see who loves letterman dogs, he always has a hug for them
Dave is a big softy when it comes to dogs. It's obvious how much he appreciates who they are. Mine was 9 month old female black lab that had been dumbed at a lake, nearly starved to death before I found her. She would take a plastic bucket flip it in the air catch it on her head and run in circles. My neighbors thought she was deranged. I was making a sandwich when she runs into the kitchen savagely shaking my hat. I hollered chasing her through one door, she drops the hat goes through the other and steals my sandwich. I was waiting for her the next time. My poor hat.
I train my pups to be service, rescue and military dogs. Yeah dogs are the best!
Rave is a Nice Man 🐕🐾🐾🐾💞
Wow impressive.
I was 7 yrs old when this aired 😂😂😂😢😢😢😢😢😢I’m old😢😢😢
_You’re_ old? I was 34! :)
@@dongiller touché, my friend
Caesar is part Mountain Goat!
Thanks for the Smiles.
Now, that's good tv.
I So miss these.
This is so much fun!
When the second dog started scratching itself like the first dog I laughed so hard LOL
THAT DOG IS A LEGEND!!!
Thats one tick infested carpet.
You built this one yourself!!
Wolfie ~5 min, is just being oppositional, picked the McDonald’s cheeseburger on purpose, and can barely stand eating it 😂 He’ll go back home and nail the trick another 100 times. God I miss Letterman
Caesar is a bear cub!
2:36 whats even funnier about the first one is thinking of a situation where the dog gets depressed from everyone laughing at him
