This man was a true God send to the animal world. I know he’s sick now and hope God watches over him. Thanks to him for all he did.❤
It’s my understanding that Jack’s Alzheimer’s disease was diagnosed and advanced very quickly, and he was unable to continue his work. What a contribution he made to understanding the animal world and supporting and promoting conservation efforts. We owe him a great debt, and God bless him ,and his family ❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️
I was just thinking of what the zoo animals would do without him. I am a nurse and worked with dementia residents my whole career since 1998. God bless Jack.
Amen. ❤
I lived for Jack Hanna's visits on Letterman and Johnny Carson. I learned a lot. I hear that Jack had been I'll, and I send him all the best.
Jack is a legend, always will be. Prayers and God's blessing for he and his family as they deal with his illness. ❤️🙏🏼🇺🇸
These guys are great together. Laughed till I hurt! Miss them.
The LEGEND that is Jack Hanna. When he teared up at the end, gotta tell ya, i was right there doing the same. That moment tells you how much love he has for his legacy of protecting all creatures great and small. Cheers good sir.
People live through the memories of others. May he always be remembered for his great work and the friendship.
@vj.joseph it’s sad jack has Alzheimer’s and no longer recognizes or remembers the world around him 😢
Prayers for Jack and family.😢😢😢
It's so much fun to see how excited and enthusiastic Jack is after so many years of working with all these creatures. He's a national treasure.
Very bittersweet reaching the end of this collection. I wish it continued forever.
What a treasure Jack is and to get to watch one after another for a homebound person is wonderful
when it bites you sleep , when do i wake up? you never wake up, absolutely cracked me up , i started crying
Such an incredible lover of animals! Jack Hannah is wonderful to watch and love this part of Letterman best always!
They obviously love each other very much the amount he’s invited on the show
Wow just finished all 11. Awesome. Godspeed Mr. Hanna 🙏🏻
God Bless Jack Hannah. All the years if enjoyment
I’ve watched these compilations three times! Thanks!
OMG!!! LOVE ❤️ the baby bird feeding.
It's great that other late-night hosts have similar segments that help millions of Americans learn more about and better appreciate these precious creatures.
What a beautiful mess... Jack is like a 5 year old in a candy shop, his excitement is contagious
We miss seeing you and your humor with Dave. You made us smile each and every time. ❤
I love how you put that that was said perfectly!!
Thank you for putting this together.
Jack was always my favorite!💜💜💜🥰
One of my favorite guests. God Bless Jack as he has Alzheimer's..we won't forget you, Jack!
Donna , how sad the Jack has Alzheimer's ! What a cursed disease ! I'm glad you made this comment , I had no idea . What a loss for all of us ! We won't forget everything you've done to save our animal treasures ! ! . 💐
God bless Jack. ✝️❤️
As my mom is in the very late stages of Alzheimer's, it was especially sad to hear that Jack was stricken by this cruel disease. The other thing with Alzheimer's is that each patient's personality usually won't determine how they will act (e.g. belligerent & nasty, overly paranoid, laid back, etc.), so while I've heard Jack's condition has taken a nose dive, I can only hope he is relatively comfortable while waiting for the Grim Reaper to arrive.
EASILY one of my favorite guests/segments on Letterman over the years, and it was evident that Dave had a genuine fondness for Jack and his quirky style.
@@sharonjacobs5351 g)?
This man is totally cool, working with all these beautiful animals, so sad he has to fight this horrible disease!
I laugh so much throughout these videos. Jack is so funny and together with Letterman they're hilarious! LoL
ALWAYS put us all in a great mood
Jack Hanna, is always...a treat!
"Everything's a lemur to you - everything!!" I remember watching this one, and most of all the ones in this collection. Hilarious. Jack is such a character; I was sad to hear of his recent diagnosis. Thanks so much for all your hard work putting this, and other videos, together. :-)
Thank you for compiling these. 💕
This compilation, not just this one, but all eleven parts of it, are priceless. Thanks so much for these.
Thank you for putting this together! Watched all 11 videos. 😊
Oh, my! Thanks for this compliation, Don. It must have been an awful load of work, but your thoughtfulness sure is appreciated and I hope Jack's family appreciates it, too. :)
There go my plans for the whole week... and I couldn't be happier about it!
Yes Don, you ARE greatly appreciated for your dedication in making all your compilation videos, labors of love
L
Hear! Hear!
quite the touching finale.
Thanks Don
Don, thank you again, I really have enjoyed this blast from the past; it’s kept me happily occupied for many, many hours, and seemingly just when I personally needed it most! I’m sure that It’s been a nice little vacation from our current nightmare reality for many other’s. On behalf of us all, thank you so much for sharing this laughter with us! Let’s show our love & support by sharing this with others. 🙏
Thanks!
REACH INTO MY POCKET AND GET A FLASHLIGHT!
And the password is penis😂😂
Same sentiment as everyone else - thanks so much for this compilation, and so many thanks to jack for all the wonderful content! Truly is a pleasure to have enjoyed this series 🙌🏽 I'll never forget it
Quite a duo for late-night tv. I remember growing up and my parents would watch Dave every night, and every night id tell them to wake me up if Jack was on. I only got to see him starting in the late 90s, but I am so glad to see this compilation on here. Just spent the last two days watching all of the parts. Thank you
It truly hurts my heart about Jack...
I agree...thanx so much...I love these shows
Fabulous!!!
It took me two weeks & two days to watch all of these. Thank you Jack, Dave and Donz! Is that a marsupial??
This is the best!
What a beautiful and incredible animal!
Let's get a movement going similar to the 'Betty White' pledge as she was also an animal/zoo advocate. In honor of Jack we
could all donate~large or small to Columbus zoo, local zoo or local rescue. I live in NC and we have the Carolina Tiger Rescue
which does amazing work for all the big cats. It would mean so much to Jack and his family I think to know his legacy would
continue in such support of these amazing creatures.
Bravo! Thanks for the upload.
Amazing. I love Jack hanna
It's like talking to my son. "It's an African Hornbil Dave."
Dave: "And where do we find these Jack."
Jack: "Africa."
Just finished watching all 11 parts. Loved it so much! I have mixed feelings. These videos are so funny, positive and uplifting, but also sad at the same time, knowing what Jack and his family are going through right now. My thoughts are with them.
I feel like starting to watch these vids from the beginning. Thank you Don!
Ioving the Jack Hanna visits!
Soooo adorable!
David asked him the question about how many different felines there are on 4 different shows.
with all my love Jack , from France!
Thank you for compiling these videos!
Best comedy team in history
:D Over the years, I've gotten the impression that as popular as this segment *is,* Mr. Letterman was never very calm around animals.
Love Jack Hanna❤
She’s looking at that bear as if it’s her baby!
What Jim Fowler/Joan Embry was to Johnny, Jack Hanna was to Dave
Love Jungle Jack. However, nobody introduces a camel to stage better than Peter O'Toole.
Jack was a legend and will be remembered as such 🌟.
Dave had respect for the animals, unlike today’s hosts.
this is not jack hannah lets eat bananas show lol laughed so hard, thanks for the hannah collection it was great watched it all, and i learned alot about the animals and its great to see them through the years, we can understand maybe he had early onset dementia, sometimes he cant remember stuff and it was kind of hard, and talked alot to get rid of that, but its funny that david letter man knew more than him, that was funny, and sometimes they had funny banter so it was funny and intuitive, but you can tell jack hannah had dementia early on he even had the white spot in the brain as he said, but hannah was a treat, despite all that, it was funny and at the end where hes in tears if that doesnt get you emotional i dont know what feral cat will.
Hanna; Jack Hanna.
Don I just live your Letterman compilations. They are my go-to to feel better about life.
Do you happen to know why Jack Hanna's entrance song is "House of the Rising Sun?" Thanks!!
Asked many times. And answered as well. Look up the history of the song and you’ll get it.
And thanks!
@@dongiller oh because it's made famous by the Animals. Yikes that went over my head! Lol!
@@Every_Day_islike_Sunday There it is. :)
The group who made the song famous is "the Animals." The song is House of the Rising Sun, 1970.
@@marlenemeyer2335 i know, it took me a while to figure it out. Duh! I felt pretty stupid!
I was at Mt Rainer park and pulled over to get a photo. As I was getting out of the car somehow I glanced in the rearview mirror and saw a bear standing up in the road looking at me. 30 feet away. I got right back in the car to see the bear run off the road into some brush.
so cute!
Amazing ❤
I just think the Bill Hader would’ve been HILARIOUS with in-his-prime Jack Hanna. Bill did a LOT with his affectations similar to Dave.
I'd REALLY like to know why the band plays "House Of The Rising Sun" for Jack Hanna's intro.
A traditional song made famous in 1964 by The Animals.
Get it? Zoo Animals . . . the Animals . . . ?
I love when Jack shoves the bananas in his mouth then coughs them up and Dave says “Jack, have you run out of animals?”
Don, you're awesome, have you got all of the Regis appearances in a video?
I don’t; just some clips after he passed away.
Dave frustrates the hell out of Jack.. Its a show all its own when you watch them ...😂
I have a look for this one episode the part where he starts explaining about the spot on his brain and David Letterman that look had me laughing all this morning
@erikwillard2546 considering Jack’s advanced Alzheimer’s the comment about spot on the brain hits differently 😢
Deep prayers for jack Hanna recovery
Reminds me of a show I wish networks would bring back:Daktari 🐅 🐧 🐍 🦎
Hanna and Letterman both have property close to one another in Montana or Wyoming and are very good friends
They work so well together. You can tell they have a blast on Letterman's shows. 🤣
Scorpions are in the arachnids family. Such as spiders, ticks, mites, scorpions and others. Thry are not insects but are a group of animals in their own.
I mean, Jack Hanna's very different from the Tiger King, but he's not COMPLETELY different, you know what I mean?
He's had dealings back and forth in the past with him. One of these appearances he brought on Cheetahs (I think) that he said came from Oklahoma.
I'm pretty sure Jack never fully understood the full definition of prehistoric. 😄
i missed jack by one taping in 2014, i was at the one just before or after that week in may
so wish woulda caught that ep
Letterman's Netflix show would have been better if Jungle Jack was one of the guest.
Not in his condition.
His dementia was showing even then. So sad. :(
Absolutely(before 2017, I wasn’t familiar with Alz/Dementia, now that I lost my two sisters @57 and 67 last 7 years. I now realize what Jack was struggling and you can’t help but notice it).
He definitely had it for years before diagnosis as my sister’s.💜💜💜
I always thought Jack was so handsome
Kid of sad about the blank spot in his brain and now he’s fighting Alzheimer’s 😢
@kathywood9602 Jack’s wife says he no longer recognizes family members, but still recognizes the family dog. They live in rural Montana now. Very sad 😞
Makes me wonder if that was actually an early prognosis and he was personally dealing with it by putting it out there by "making a joke" out of it. Seems like something I would do.
@@GravyHucker to only recognize the family dog, not family, not remember anything about your life, that’s rough
@ObamaFromKenya I know it is. Was raised by my Grandma who went every night to see her mom in a Nursing Home. I watched her go from forgetfulness to dimensia to late stage Alzimers - feeding tube, totally mute and lifeless. I'd see her every Friday. I never wish that on anyone, I hate it for him and his family. I can only hope the ones affected don't realize how bad of shape they are in.
Those cranes are all over Florida
One thing I learned from these videos is that there are 17 kinds of penguins, ALL of which live in cold climates - NO exceptions.
She's pretty too. Good observation
Am I correct about the scorpion being a black African? I was told once that they are not venomous
Big Letterman fan, but don't recall why Jungle Jack's theme music was "House of the Rising Sun."
Think about it. Which British band had a massive hit with that song in 1964?
@dongiller Gotcha. But a little far-fetched, isn't it? Thanks for info.
@@Picklesnot-co3k The reference seems obvious to me. Musical puns were essentially Paul and the band’s trademark.
@dongiller Thanks for helping me out. Also, thanks for the posts. Big Letternan fan. (...and I think we all know how painful that can be.)
yo this guy is like if borat brought a bear to a show....
What’s amazing is……talking and joking about the hole in his brain and now he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia, so awful.
What's the name of the song Paul plays for Jack's intro?
“House of the Rising Sun” - a traditional tune made famous in 1964 by The Animals.
💯
I WONDER... THIS BLANK SPOT THAT JACK IS TALKING ABOUT DURING HIS MRI... DID THIS LEAD TO HIS ALZHEIMERS? I SAW AN INTERVIEW A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO WITH HIS LOVELY WIFE AND JACK. THEY WERE HAVING BREAKFAST AND THEY WENT ON A HIKE, WHICH THEY DO TOGETHER EVERYDAY. HE SEEMED LIKE THE SAME OLD JACK, BUT HE DIDN'T SPEAK DIRECTLY TO THE CAMERA. HIS WIFE DID THE SPEAKING. IT'S GOOD TO HAVE A SAME DAILY ROUTINE OR THE CONFUSION GETS REALLY BAD SHE EXPLAINED. HE SEEMED VERY HAPPY AND LAUGHED A LOT AND SMILED AND PLAYED WITH THEIR DOGS. IT'S SAD THAT HE HAD ALZHEIMERS. HE REALLY CONTRIBUTED SO MUCH TO THE WORLD OF ANIMALS AND HE MADE LEARNING FUN FOR EVERYONE. HE HAD SUCH A GREAT PERSONALITY AND HIS LOVE FOR ALL ANIMALS AND HUMANS WENT FAR BEYOND ANYTHING. ❤❤❤ AND THANKS TO DAVID LETTERMAN FOR BRINGING HIM ON THE SHOW FOR AIRTIME AND FOR BOTH OF THEM BANTERING FUNNIES OFF EACH OTHER. JACK GOT SOME GREAT ONES ON DAVE TOO WHICH WAS AND IS HARD TO DO. ❤❤❤❤.
19:35 "This a _GORPION_ !"
Is it a marsupial?
"Dave, you think everything is a marsupial." ❤❤❤
Comments turned off on your video with Andre the Giant. Amazing footage with Letterman in a Rugby shirt and a fabulous interview.
Andre the Giant was a great man
There are 37 members of the cat family
there is always an idiot that wave the hand when isn't the moment
SCORPIONS= ARACHNID GENRE... (YES, THE SPIDER FAMILY)... VINAGROONS AS WELL...
Help me with this: Carson let the animals make fun of him. ___?___ made fun of the animals. Letterman made fun of the animal handler. How did that go again?
You’re overthinking it.
I'm waiting for the Dr. Phil Collection!
Always, always the worst time to ask for more, more, more.
@@dongiller sorry about that
Sorry, Don, I thought jzoo was asking for Dr. Phil's ANIMAL collection. I get it now.
Im alot like Jack when i talk and try to explain things. Its truly frustrating and exhausting for jack. I know hes been a good sport about it for the sake of his foundation and has learn to adapt to dave.. now that Jack has a real deteriorating memory, i hope that producers will think twice about exploiting someones often painful personality quirks for ratings; but sadly the big mamoo runs things..but it aint no joke anymore forJack..alas, its common for these talk shows. Ellen Degeneres exploited this type of guest for years with little hyperactive prodigous kids. great ratings watching kids spin in circles, talk incessantly, rarely finishing a sentence, shaking with hyperactivity while the crowd splits a gut. that has come to an end just recently. For someone who has impulsivity issues and anxiety its pretty clear whats goin on..
Ok
i like dave's dry self mockery
@lirdwallie24 Carson did it better with Joan Embery, imo
