Hurricane Ian Floods St. Augustine (damage, flooding, storm surge)

- Hurricane Ian made landfall in southwest Florida just short of a Category 5 storm - the strongest classification on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. By wind speed, Hurricane Ian is the fifth most powerful storm to ever hit the country. By the time it started to impact Northeast Florida it had drastically weakened, but still managed to cause major flooding in St. Augustine, Florida. Here's some footage I was able to gather from the storm.

Thank you for sharing & so glad you are all ok... This brought back many memories from hurricane Wilma, as that was the worst where I was...
Oh I’ve heard about Wilma! We are okay. 👍🏽 I was just trying to help a local business that flooded yesterday. Just another day in the tropics. 🏝️
I appreciate this video I’m in Gainesville Fl but I’m considering moving to Saint Augustine
Fantastic documentation!! Bad day for move and the trampoline always fly away 100%
Wow. Looks bad like when Matthew came through
Yes. Almost just as bad as Matthew. About a foot different in waterline height.
Wow I never seen that here
I live in the Clermont area, got lucky. I hope your plane and stuff is ok!!
Oh wow. I grew up in College Park, Orlando. I’m glad your home is good! Ours is too. 🙏🏽 very grateful.
Hello;
I was just, thinking about you. And I thought, to sent a text via UA-cam. I am glad to see that you are alright.
All the best Shaun of NYC 🦉🦉
Hey Shaun! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. All is well here. My heart really goes out to those who flooded - especially on the west coast of Florida. All the best to you too! Good to hear from you.
Your place okay? Some of the footage I’ve seen is terrifying
Yeah man! All good. We’re lucky we have a house high above sea level. Btw, I am on my way to doing some MSFS live streams again sometime soon. Maybe at least 1 per month.
I considering visiting in September or October do yall think thats a good month to visit? Please reply
September is still very hot. Just keep that in mind. That’s summer here, so it will be beach weather.
@@BradySkye thanks for ur reply my concern is it hurricane season during those months or would I be ok?
@@anthonytaylor7928 I wouldn’t worry about hurricanes but I’ve been here for 37 years. If I worried about being here during a hurricane I wouldn’t be here at all. St. Augustine doesn’t get hit very often but you never know. Usually we have at least a 7-10 days notice if there’s one headed this way.
@@BradySkye ok thanks I ll see u in September or October
I thought Ian hit the west coast
This is nothing. I was in Matlacha when the eye passed overhead .
Compared to other places this is nothing. It’s for the people who want to see the flooding in St. Augustine.
I was in hurricane Ian,it was not pretty
