32:05 Taking into account Mithrix's base armor of 20, Symbiotic Scorpion can multiply your damage by up to 2.4; with maximum adaptive armor of about 400, this increases to up to 10 times
I get the thought process of ranking Safer Spaces low because "just don't take damage, dummy" but it should be bumped up a tier regardless imo because of the opportunity for free blood shrines / void cradles that'd you'd otherwise have to wait to use or even give up
Exactly what I was thinking. On eclipse 8 I always love getting them, not only for blocking damage, but also for massively speeding up/lowering the risk of grabbing blood shrines and cradles. I would put them in "nice" for eclipse 8 and maybe "eh" for speedrun (you have to remember, getting a safer spaces is stealing the spot of a shrimp/poly)
His logic seems to be comparing items to what you could have gotten or same quality of item. I'm not great at the game but I'm pretty sure having a resonance disc would be better than a singular backup mag. Safer spaces is great, but looking at it only in the pool of void items it's usefullness in a speedrun is definitely below poly, plimp, or even needletick
@@lizard6878 while that's true in the speedrun sense, i think it's odd to have it below PSG where it serves the same purpose and even does a better job of preserving your plasma shrimp shield... like many of those void items you get out of a cradle and you're just like "ew im just not even gonna pick that up" but im always picking up a safer spaces cuz 1 stack of it just provides so much utility and insurance to your run anyway im just throwing my 2 cents out there lmao im not nearly as experienced or good at the game as woolie lol

The Wedding Bands and Sticky Bomb scale from Total Damage but they don't have a proc coefficient. That's why they Brilliant Behemoth doesn't make them explode as well. Still makes Plasma Shrimp and Polylute (most of your damage anyway) explode so it's a beast regardless.
I always just think of behemoth as stronger plasma shrimp (or plimp is weaker behemoth, I guess since behemoth existed first), obviously plimp has a proc coefficient and behemoth doesn’t but they’re basically the same otherwise
@@pham990 Plimp is better because you actually have a decent chance of having more than 1 of it, which ultimately boosts your damage more than the Behemoth would at that point.
@@Karsh. yeah, I was just comparing the first stack of the items, behemoth doesn't stack at all (only gets more radius, doesn't get more damage, which is kinda bs for a red item) while plimp does, obviously plimp has more potential and outshines behemoth very quickly, but if we're only comparing first stacks, behemoth is technically stronger (not by much cause again, plimp has proc co)
31:01 the condition is that it has a proc coefficient bands (dealing total damage) don't have one so it doesn't scale them. bleed (dealing base damage) also doesn't have one, so it doesn't scale it.
finally when I am trying to backseat while making eggs I now will understand which items are bad/good to know if we actually are throwing a good run :D
The issue with the green items is like half of them don't have a meaningful effect on their own. Predatory instincts and harvesters scythe are good if you actually stacked like at least 3 or 4 crit glasses. Death mark requires like 4 other items just for it to do ANYTHING (depending on survivor). Fuel Cell and War Horn are only really useful if you have an equipment you actually want to use often, which there aren't many. Ignition Tank needs gasoline, Molten Perf, or fire aspect to, once again, do ANYTHING (Besides for Artificer ofc). Squid Polyp is kinda useful but it takes Remote Caffinator to actually shine. The other 40% of them are varying levels of ok (Infusion, chronobauble to turn into tentabauble, razorwire, Red whip early) to 95% of the time better than literally nothing but doesn't really help much. (Beserkers pauldron, leeching seed, hunters harpoon, bandolier, lepton daisy, stealth kit, buckler). It's messed up how white items have a higher percentage of good items compared to greens.
2:03 hooves and edrinks actually provide a nearly identical movement speed bonus. edrink adds +25% to the sprint speed *MODIFIER*; which, after being factored into your overall move speed, is a ~14% horizontal move speed increase just like the hoof. a single hoof will ALWAYS be better than a single edrink, as edrink's ~14% movespeed bonus is only applied when spriting and going forward (though its a pretty meaningless distinction on huntress of course). but since they affect two different statistics; they scale off of each other multiplicatively and become very strong. the best thing to do to maximize speed is to right down the middle with 1:1 hoofs to edrinks, with slight preference towards hooves if you have to choose. if you search for the post "effective sprint speed as a function of hooves and energy drinks" on the risk of rain subreddit; there's a chart breaking it down with a bunch of different combinations of hooves and drinks if you're curious.
ik its already top tier, but I think its important to point out how strong fire band is for being able to skip the entirety of 4th phase if it kills mithrix in the center of the arena, seems like a really big time save for a speedrun.
Sir, you placed the Head Stompers on the "nice" tier, yet a few days ago when there was a jumble that titled something on the lines of "Next red will be..." with the option "GOOD", "MID" and "BAD" and a Head Stompers dropped, you deemed the item to be "MID", which is upsetting because I had put my points into "GOOD". Now if you check a thesaurus you will notice how "good" is synonymous with "nice" so I better have my points back or there will be lawyers involved. Thank you and have a nice day.
Scorpion is really good paired with plasma shrimp which is really good with icbm and polylute, and the white items enhance every aspect of the aforementioned items. Atk speed even enhances animations so all around it's the best stat to increase.
Honestly stombs are just good in general, not just for speedrunning. If you're full looting you're gonna get huge value out of them too because ATGs and other proc items can proc them too
Safer spaces deserves to be up at least one tier? You praise slug for being able to speed up looting void cradle/blood shrine but safer spaces does the same thing. Not to mention it has the potential to save you from dying to a mistake in the mythrix fight. Sure it could have been plute/plimp, but if it’s spaces and there are 3-4 other void cradles for the rest of the run then that saves you 1-1.5 minutes of healing
As someone who’s been trying this out and just recently got a 25.5 minute run the other day, I only got that because of safer spaces saving my ass like 16 times. You need to bump that up to atleast the nice tier ( if not the top tier). It allows you to make some really stupid plays in order to maximize your damage potential. Tanking pizza shots, hitting shrines void cradles without need for healing, fall damage mitigation, etc. the list is endless and trust me you DO take more damage than you’d like in these runs, especially on runs with low damage.
Shurikens, as nice as they are, can proc bands when you dont mean to (granted, a few things can, but they are pretty consistent at doing so). If youre using them FOR proccing bands, yes very nice. But if youre a heavy hitter like Railgunner, you could possibly send one out early and it would proc bands before you get a charged shot off, missing out on a lot of damage. IMO theyd be in "eh" cause theyre good for some characters but not great for others
31:32 isn’t like, Behemoth’s explosion a different damage source entirely with a 0 Proc coefficient? Quite certain that’s why it’s 60% damage bonus isn’t added to like, any total damage calculations. The damage bonus is a separate instance of damage.
I would really love to see an updated tierlist for eclipse 8 and the races!
