I apologize if you covered this, and I missed it. One of the most important and overlooked steps in food plotting is to get a soil sample. The vast majority of food plotters would be far better off spending money on lime than on fertilizer. If the soil ph isn't right, the plants will be unable to take up the nutrients from the fertilizer. Great video!
My plots in central Wisconsin have never looked better. We have been blessed with regular rain like I can never remember. I hope all your plots turn out great too!
Great video Todd!!! That shop looks like what dreams are made of, anyone that sends hate your way saying must be nice or not all of us can have that setup is just envy! Shop & equipment goals!
I just done over an 1/8 th of an acre all by hand and a 125 coolster 4 wheeler, and it actually looks like it's going to work really good as long as the pellet lime i put down late winter had time to react! If all else fails i have 3 bags of Winter wheat to save the day! It's getting planted anyway but it will still save me if the brassica don't do good! Great video like always Todd! Be watching y'all for many yrs now!
Awesome stuff guys, I love seeing smaller micro plots included! I just finished getting my fall plots in on the 13th because of seeing the rain in the forecast!
Graf I’m really diggin what you n the team have been putting out this off season!! Keep these informative videos coming. I put my fall release green cover plots in with a drill last weekend before rain here in south eastern Missouri. Like your new intern we also had a few micro or hidey hole food plots or kill plots we had to rough up and broadcast as well. Seed to soil and rain is key
Im finally getting me a few showers the next few days, i had to plant my brassicas this round or i was gonna be to late! It actually worked out about perfect timing! Hopefully i see some green pop up soon, 🤞🤘
In Northern Ny on my land I have no issues with erosion and i have mostly heavy clay. I spray atleast 2 to 3 weeks before tilling and planting. I no till my corn fields when i can but my food plots need to be tilled here..
Do you get any action on the rye? I’m in NW IL in agricultural area and my deer don’t seem to care one bit about it. I’ve planted it two years and seen deer paw at rotted turnips in March instead of touching the rye.
Welcome to the BHOD Family Ben! Can't wait to see your BBD video! Pulling for ya Bud!
Appreciate it!!
