NOTE.. The frame wont simply fall away from body on drivers side. The steering box is attached to frame and steering linkage holds subframe fairly tight to underbody. Steering box needs to have bolts pulled out to get freeplay between subframe and body.. ( Didnt need to loosen steering box ) Passenger side is as you stated.. At least in my 1970 I just swapped bushings out, except driverside front subframe bushing.. Update, I loosened up all bushings around the subframe this morning.. Was able to persuade the front subframe bushing to come out. Was still needing a pinchbar to pry a bit but done. I didnt want to loosen up the bushings on passenger side too much. I had very thick spacer washers atop bushing. Remembered to put back.👍

Thanks man, saved me a lot of time, my bushings were in like 20 pieces each so I had no idea which one went where and mine came with no instructions, you made my day man, thanks again

about to do mine soon..72 nova..was there any pressure on the bushings? my car is running so I really don't want to hear it apart if I don't have to..if I have to tear it apart to install..than so be it.

Hi Travis, must have missed your comment somehow. My car was mostly apart when I changed my bushings. Using the jackstand and jack I was able to release pressure on everything to get the bolt out, then just lowered the jack barely enough to release the pressure on the bushings to take them out. Wasn't too bad except everything was rusted a bit. If your car is complete then you just need to be careful not to twist the front end too much lowering the frame. You could put stress on wires/lines or even cause some body panels to touch/rub a bit. I would think as long as you watch everything really good as you lower the frame some it should be alright.

It's coming along. I drove it all last summer as my daily. Kind of a fail on getting driving video and what not...It's torn apart right now again so I can put in a bigger cam and fix some leaks. I have been videoing the progress so keep an eye out, I'll be posting more stuff soon.

meridian208 NICE, you do anything to your steering or suspension?

Mokra06 I have changed out the rear hanger bushings. I got the front control arm bushing kit recently too. Going to change those as well. Other than that still basically stock suspension

What motor do you have installed in it? Not to heavy for the stock suspension?

It's just a 350. Seems to work just fine
