I bought another new Nitro this year. It has the 115 ProXS with the CT gear box. Love the motor. Doesn't use as much fuel as my Classic 75 ELPTO did. I'll never manage to put 100 hrs a year on it, so I 'll just do it once a year for good measure. I'll just keep an eye on water pressure gauge and probably do the 300 hr svc every 5-7 yrs. PartsVu is a good place to buy the kits for sure. I got the 100 hr kit to have on hand. Oil, with oil and fuel filters, orings and gear lube in a box dropped on my porch. Can't beat that. What's your take on the fuel additives?? I've been running the Quickare since new. It's cheaper than Sta-bil. I always keep it in it because I may run boat three times a week, then not get to go for a month.
Yea once a year is a definite even tho you never hit the 100hrs a year , I know that the red stable is good had the blue stuff rot on me in the past, I run so much fuel through the boat I dont bother with it , maybe stp fuel injection cleaner ever oil change that's about it for me!
Hey bruh, for us “visual learners” would you consider a video regarding the newer Mercury 75, 90 and 115hp spark plug change? Specifically the removal of the number-4 plug, which is the most difficult to remove and re-install…🤬 P.S. Love-your-videos… 🛥🔧
I have the same motor but 2018. I got the same kit you got it mine came with a fuel filter screen as well which looks like a filter in the shape of a skinny syringe. Same size as a pen. Where does this go on my motor or is it not for my motor???
Hey nice video Captain! I have the new 2020 90 command thrust. I run it in saltwater all the time! I have around 140 hours. I was wondering if it’s ok to just pull the thermostat out and inspect it and maybe clean it up! Do you have any suggestions?
Yes , thanks for watching and the best place I've found anywhere is Partsvu, I recommend you call them and have you order shipped using UPS, due to the usps having problems getting it here now
Hey what bout cleaning the intake vacuum line for speedometer do you have a video of this same motor I got. My speedometer isn't reading properly may be clogged. What easy way to clean it out.
I've cleaned it out before use a small drill bit with twisting it with your fingers until it's clear agin too me a couple trys to get it working agin never has clogged since but can happen easily with debris in the water
@@thefishstalker7640 I ve done that and its somewhere in the hose and I dont want to take the bottom cover off so tracing the line is the hard part because it disappears from top of motor to bottom .im looking for like a splice on the hose to possibly shoot liquid to dissolve the clog then blow air into it.
@@thefishstalker7640 I have a 60hp mercury and live in Sacramento..I rather not spend 500+ to do an impeller and oil. I have less that 200 hours. Just doing the seasonal maintenance.
Awesome instructional video. Thanks mate, I appreciate your work.
I award you the best golden charismatic Mercury engineer of the year 2022
Thanks for the DYI on the 300 hr service, gives me the know how on how to do this service.
Pretty easy , thanks for watching
Helpful thanks
