On one hand I really dug how The House in the Ocean existed as a temporary series that only existed in the minds and memories of a select few. On the other hand I am now excited that I can show this to people who wouldn't have seen it or understood what I meant by "Ronald Reagan advocates shooting houses."

i had missed did you really think alex survived both times and was really disappointed, no one would even tell me what the general video was so to get a chance to see it is a big deal to me
Context for anyone not in the know: House in the Ocean was a series made by Alex (presumably pre-devouring) as a callback to his previous works in honor of his late father, who had always adored his early animations before the Monument Mythos. From what I understood when he made a post about it, though, he also wanted the series to be like a person who passes away: gone from the world, but forever in our heads. That way, in the same way that we reminisce on experiences with those who have passed away, our memories of it will remain, but will also change, as our perspective of that person would surely change after their passing. He had never intended for it to last forever, but instead wanted it to be a lasting experience with us after its departure. This is why there was no House in the Ocean after the series departed: the House was in your head, a memory we all shared, but which we all might remember slightly differently. I hope I made this easy to follow, but in short, it's a big surprise to see the series back, since it was never meant to be here forever. But maybe the House can be compared to our good friend James Dean: thought to have long ago left us, and yet somehow back in our lives. If Mister Manticore wants my comment removed because of the information I have provided no longer being pertinent (or just if he'd rather we not perpetuate this info), then I will comply, but I hope that I have given some uninformed viewers a bit of a glimpse into the story many other viewers (myself included) had followed throughout the House's initial run.
I feel like he might delete this video, then re-upload it, and continuously repeat the cycle every year or so. That way we can only experience it at a specific time, for a set amount of time. If you want to see it for the first time or re-experience it, you'll need to wait for it. Maybe I'm wrong and he just keeps the video up forever, but this creator continues to make incredibly puzzling and endlessly interesting content.
I truly appreciate that he reuploaded this series as I had only seen the first few videos before it was deleted, I hope he keeps it up but just incase he doesn't I'll make sure to finish it this time
From Discord Q/A on connection: "The House in the Ocean was originally meant to be stand-alone. It began as an experiment at the end of Season 2, as a way for me to process a certain death in my life. And once in was finished, you know, it would be gone, just like that. But once I deleted the series, I felt embarrassed. I felt guilty about it. There was a real sense of disconnect between what I tried to do and my audience. So, I started working on The Nixonverse as a means of both bringing back The House in a way I felt appropriate, and as way to finally properly conclude this whole story, to give an ending to the story of The Crescent King. I view The Nixonverse as the conclusion of both the Mythos and The House in the Ocean."

I don't think I've ever come across any other horror content creator that does it the way you do. Your concepts are incredibly creative and original, the presentation being made in a vast array of styles, from 2D animation, 3D, old VHS tapes, audio logs and recordings, camera footage, movie maker youtube videos, pictures, informative videos, ad campaigns, documentaries, all of these carefully edited and designed to fit their context/historical time, often times even altering or creating brand new historical events, is so unique and creative. It really adds a lot to the horror aspect of your videos, it makes everything feel far more real and grounded. I will never forget seeing RUSHMOREREVENGE for the first time and being terrified at the last scene same with ALCATRAZATTACK, just remembering it already makes my hairs stand up. Similarly in this series, seeing the pictures of the Bushes after their ambush, it's so unsettling and unnerving. I'm glad I got to experience this series in full and its original (and restored) form, since I haven't seen it before so I was out of the loop on this one and its context. Thank you for posting this series again.
Something about the way HitO continually changes what it's about (and sometimes decides not to be about anything, or even being about its own existentialism) just makes me heavily respect what you were able to do with all of your old content. I understand why you took it down, and actually adored the gesture (which made it such a unique experience that you just had to be there to see) but at the same time I'm so happy that it's back. I have NO clue how this relates to the Nixonverse now that it's canon, but I'm interested to see how it works out. So happy that the Nixonverse is a success so far.
Little Lanky gets even funnier and more disturbing if you are coming from a Post-Soviet country. There was a very popular cartoon in USSR about a cute big-eared creature called Cheburashka, who was looking for friends. The cartoon itself was very nice and cute, and is still beloved by people. But it was produced during the golden age of Soviet animation. The first attempts at animation in USSR were _quite_ different, often ugly, disturbing and filling people with a sense of dread, whether from the artstyle or the subject matter (like death, war or mental illnesses; I distinctly remember one about depression-induced hallucinations, "ФРУ-89", look it up if you like).

This is the monument mythos, just Nixonverse. Deansverse ended when freedom and airforceoneangel fought and awoken the horned serpent, this destroying deansverse. As we know with d-day Knight, and the multiple times it's been said, the horned serpent lives. The horned serpent from deansverse.
I remember what you said this series of videos was originally about and reformatted for to create this series, so I wanna say, thanks for letting me rewatch it officially from you
As someone who was ignorant of House in the Ocean in the first place I appreciate the opportunity to view it For that reason I'm reading a lot of parallels to previous works, other analog horror works, and what feels like the creator's touchstones in general. Giant femme-coded entity that wants freedom, political figures as metaphor for manipulation, the absolute dread of something threatening to destroy everything.... But the final message, "no one is gone forever," has that kernel of hope. That's why I love Mister Manticore's work, because no matter what we carry on in some form, in some way.
I’m really glad this is back, I never got a chance to watch the final episode before it was taken down. Looking forward to watching through the whole thing again.

Thank you for posting this series again.
i dont know how to feel about the ambush part because they're real people dying in a fictional series
So happy that the Nixonverse is a success so far.
well, i mean its apparently an urban legend, as told by the Avenues.
Why was it taken down
@@Saint-Louis-du-Ha-Ha it was supposed to be an allegory for memory and loss
@@Alchem0re It also calls monument mythos a urban legend. I think what alex means with this is that theres a third universe which is the houseverse
@@cattoproductions7142 i dont want to say that your theory is wrong, but PLEASE check the new vid if you havent already
Thank you for bringing this back! It's a great bit of creative work.

The House cartoon
What a way to bring back a legacy. Well done.
You thought it'd only end once?
It does feel like a sick since of American logic to shoot at house that's just sitting there.
I know this project is very personal and means a lot to you, thanks for bringing it back for us to enjoy once again :)
the fact it opens with a meme is priceless
Wendigoon is somewhere like “shit here we go again.”
the thin line between deep soulcrushing story and a shitpost is getting thinner and thinner, one day he well break reality in order to make it infinitely thin
We Really got trolled into having the cresent king in our minds
It's hilarious to me that a group of Houses is called a Neighborhood. I mean, what else would it be called? Thank you for bringing this back, whatever you decide to do with it now, whether it's kept up or not, I'm grateful for being able to see it.
crescents crescents
swimming in the ocean
causing a commotion
cause they are so awesome
😏 nice 😏
The fact that this is in the Nixonverse playlist is going to be interesting to see how this plays out.
2:06 “Oop, honey, it’s a house. Alright gang pack it up, beach day over.”
"Aww, dad! Why do we gots to go NOW?"
I just hope you know that the house never left our minds. I literally cannot stop thinking about it, so you did something right.
Only ogs remember getting a notification about a video released called "OBAMA TOUCHES KILLER WOOD CHIP"
Anyways, I never actually finished watching this series when it first came out but I'm glad it got reuploaded
This legit is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on youtube.
I was ready to never see it again, but I'm immensly glad I got a second chance.
Your father would be very proud of the excellent work you make
I like this better than monument mythos tbh, it feels so much more expressionistic while maintaining that previous sense of mystery and conspiracy
Me too
This is the monument mythos, just Nixonverse. Deansverse ended when freedom and airforceoneangel fought and awoken the horned serpent, this destroying deansverse. As we know with d-day Knight, and the multiple times it's been said, the horned serpent lives. The horned serpent from deansverse.
@@LackadaisicalWizard they're in the same Canon, sure. However my comment was referring to how the tone and stylistic choices feel different.
Thank you so much for reuploading this I adore this series
Watching the series as it progressed initially was a wild ride. Glad it’s public again
You thought it'd only end once?
With a beach in South Texas getting repeatedly littered with various creepy dolls washed from the sea, I have a feeling this entire saga is real...
It's all coming together
Awuevoooo (yei in mexican) i've been searching this for weeks and finally you reuploaded it, thanks, im so happy now
I remember what you said this series of videos was originally about and reformatted for to create this series, so I wanna say, thanks for letting me rewatch it officially from you
The part with “there is no woman” followed by bush’s deformed flesh mass was so cool, definitely my favorite part of the series.
Oh ship, it's back. Feels like someone reminding me of a dream I can only remember on the tip of my tongue
I missed the little lanky video. Thanks for returning this to our memories again.
As someone who was ignorant of House in the Ocean in the first place I appreciate the opportunity to view it
For that reason I'm reading a lot of parallels to previous works, other analog horror works, and what feels like the creator's touchstones in general. Giant femme-coded entity that wants freedom, political figures as metaphor for manipulation, the absolute dread of something threatening to destroy everything....
But the final message, "no one is gone forever," has that kernel of hope. That's why I love Mister Manticore's work, because no matter what we carry on in some form, in some way.
i look away from the screen for a second and then look back to get jumpscared by my own local county sheriff's office.
You bastard, right when we thought we would never see this stuff again. You surprised us with this all American pass time. OG Analog Horror.
STILL MY FAVORITE SERIES YET. MEANS A LOT TO SEE IT BACK. THANK YOU MISTER MANTICORE. AND GOD BLESS AMERICA. 🎇 🇺🇸 🎆
I’m really glad this is back, I never got a chance to watch the final episode before it was taken down. Looking forward to watching through the whole thing again.
this series helps tie in alex’s old and new creative style and thinking. i love it. to be able to see comparison is a wonder and a blessing
I’m happy to see this again! I really respected your reasons to remove the original videos, but I always felt bad for the people who started the series but never got too finish it, or even never seeing it on the first place
i loved the idea of the ephemeral series but i’m very happy to see this back
You thought it'd only end once?
@@Drengade nah he deleted it bcus it was supposed to be temporary and now it’s back
39 MINUTES AND IT STARTED OFF WITH A MEME?!!? ITS BOUT TO BE A GOOD DAY
I'm so glad this is back, yes I missed it but please dont feel pressured to bring it back for us. I saw your post Alex (Mr. Manticore) when you deleted it and I respect that. 🙏
this is in THE NIXONVERSE playlist, so maybe this has been retconned into the MM multiverse? would make sense with all the other weird stuff happening in the Nixonverse
Marvel cinematic universe wtf
Dude, I think u just inspired me bro. Beautiful work my friend! Killing it with all these timeliness & cause n effect horror scenarios! Killing. It.
I'm glad you brought back Obama Touches Killer Wood Chips, arguably your best video of all time
Ah shit, here we go again. Thanks Alex for bringing this series back.
So glad to see this back up! Your art is something special, you owe it to yourself to share it.
You thought it'd only end once?
Glad this is back! Thanks for sharing it once again!
It's really nice to see this come back, especially today of all days.
Thankyou! I wanted so badly to watch this through again. It was really something special.
Thank you so much for bringing this back. I've told so many people about it and they just look at me like I'm crazy when I say 'Yeah, there was a video that said 'the house is in your head' then they all disappeared" lol
Nice to see an otherwise good yet deleted series actually return as a compilation video AND a nice tie-in to a new series from the same creator.
Addendum: Hope those animated sequence moments make a comeback in either a Monument Mythos Season 4, Trinity Desk Project, or some other new series.
Of course I love The Monny Miffs as much as anyone, but The House In The Ocean is probably the piece that resonates with me most. The enigmatic tone, the branching threads, houses of ominous nature, just INCREDIBLY artifacted media. It speaks to the core of me
I knew it was returning. I saw the Crescent moon in the sky last night.
I'm glad you decided to add this back. It may be hard, but it was the right decision.
Wow, what a cool series that I have definitely never seen nor been eldritchly affected by before.
Thank you so much because I missed the first posting, not knowing it was going to disappear. I hope you weren't pressured into this. I'm glad I finally got to experience this, it really messed with my mind in a good way.
Thank you for sharing this again and letting us experience it. ❤️
Really glad this masterpiece is back up. I’m planning on showing this to my little brother after he finishes Monument Mythos
Creeping up the blind side, shinning up the wall
Stealing through the dark of night
Climbing through a window, stepping to the floor
Checking to the left and the right
Picking up the pieces, putting them away
Something doesn't feel quite right
Help me, someone, let me out of here
Then out of the dark was suddenly heard
Welcome to the home by the sea
Where can I find this song?
@@luxerhawton2456 Home By the Sea by Genesis
holy shit i was thinking of the exact same song
which makes sense but i feel like its not the MOST popular genesis song
i never got to see the house in the ocean before it was taken down, and always wanted to see it; thank you.
There is no House in the Ocean. There is only the House in your head. But what is in your head is with you forever.
No one is gone forever.
this is genuinely the last thing i expected, dope to see this back on the channel
I like how this is back, for all of us who didn't experience MM when it was originally aired! Thank you Mr.Manticore!
Ok. Ok. I totally comepletely understand everything, for sure. Definitely.
absolutely amazing, i truly believe you could make anything interesting. one of the best creators on this platform in my opinion, great work mister manticore
I love Crescent King so much, I’m so glad we have it back!
The end of it is just so immaculate
I live around the corner from the ocean and I've never been more terrified.
Glad this masterpiece is back and public again
Wendigoon is gonna have a field day with this one
