mate, waking up, making a strong mug of tea, and watching your vlogs, whatever they're about, tech, tennis, your relationship, your bass,.... just life.... is an inspiration. Keep it going man. the break in was a bummer, but it all happens, good or bad for a reason, so chin up geezer, it all comes out in the wash. I'm off to work on my lyrics for an hour then hit the gym. Your enthusiasm for life and music is inspirational is infectious and very very beautiful. Have a good day pal, and see you in the UK in June. Russ.
Glad you're receiving some in-depth assistance from the Hollywood Div. with this. Have had numerous break-ins over the years, lost one of the 1st Teac 4 track reel-to-reel machines in LA area--with the original music I was working on, still on the deck, gone forever. Both of my Dan Armstrong plexiglass instruments [bass & guitar, matching], different occasion; Entire collection of vinyl 33's, irreplaceable. And a priceless series of recordings done by my high school buddy Pete as a kid living in Arizona...off-the-cuff piano improvisations [Pete's mom insisted I play the family upright piano in their dining room, captured on an old Wollensak r/r]. Probably other atrocities that have been buried deep in the subconscious to get 'em out of my life. Not. That stunned, electric feeling of personal invasion followed by out-n-out rage never quite goes away does it? Hope you do get back at least some of your gear, and even if not, that you're being proactive about 'putting in the correction', as the universe will record the effort. In this I am fiercely opposed to the Gypsy philosophy that it's divinely OK to steal. No, it isn't. It's just wrong. And for not shrinking from "[kicking butt &] taking names", thanks...as with the opening vid signage shot and the mention yesterday re. what the LAPD had said about this being a kind of flaky company. Many people think they are too busy to go the distance. Been 'taking names' for years in my 'other' pursuit TheVelvetDoberman.com. Gotta rise up, folks! if nothing changes, guess wot? Nothing changes.
another combination I've seen is reverb sandwiched between two delays. Got the idea from Devin Townsend when he did the Dunlop sessions with Casualties of Cool. I've done it myself, it's great for those huge soundscapes.
Hi Janek! If you haven't done it yet, try to put some heavy distortion/fuzz or other type of saturations after long ambiance sounds, the results are quite interesting ;) .
Great stuff Janek! Have you tried swelling the volume pedal into an envelope filter like the MF101? It swells the envelope for some serious scream WWWWRRRRAAAAHHHHH sounds. It's killer with some distortion and reverb. Cheers from Victoria British Columbia, James
Hey Janek. I looked at the tour dates for Europe and I didn't see any shows in Denmark (or Sweden). Haven't you been able to find anywhere to play? I know, you've done clinics and probably concerts in Denmark before. I'd really love to go see you, but there's no way I'm traveling to Germany or France for a concert! Love the videoes, keep 'em coming. You're a massive inspiration to my playing at the moment!
Hey Janek. Do You use tweeters in your cabs or turn them off ? What are you think about those horns in cabs ? Great vlog. I'm a big fan. Thank you and keep goin. :)
Hi Janek, I've got a pretty uncommon question for you today. But first I gotta say I love your vlog which has been massively inspiring for me both for my playing and my mind-set. So thank you for that. Here is the question: what's your thought about Scientology and how deeply rooted is it in the state of California? By the way I'm am not by any means a Scientology believer, this is just curiosity. Love your music!Cheers form Italy ;)
Great information today! Curious if you know of the tc electronic Mimiq Doubler. I found out about it over the weekend and it sounds like it could be something you may find useful to add an additional voice, if you're into that. Here's the link. www.tcelectronic.com/mimiq-doubler
kik1140 You should check out Janek's latest vlog, 'Bed ridden but still vlogging'. He mentions you and directly responds to this comment you've left above. It's interesting man!

Copeland-esque at 06:48 thru 07:10 .
Stirs the soul.

Great video. I love delay for soloing on both of my 6 string basses. They really cut through the mix 👍🎶

Try a fuzz after the reverb.
Holdsworthian stuff from 11:30 , Nice !
Have you thought about adding a pedal order switcher? That way, you can access both sounds on the fly.

Hi Janek,
Nice work has always ! Will you do some stuff with de moog MP201 ? I'm so curious abous that thing !
Hi Janek,
Really enjoying your work. Very inspiring in many ways. Can you share how you edit your vlogs with finalcut? That would be great. Thanks
Pritty tune @ the end. Very nice indeed. *-----Q-----*
i love it
Delay before Reverb
Why don't you try midi?

5:04 Your Reverb isn't switched on, buddy.
Listen again. The reverb is on. The video clip is B-Roll and doesn't show the reverb engaged. But, as you can hear, it's on.
ayyyyyyyyy so great :)
You should do a toneprint for the flashback delay using your settings! I bet people at TC eletronics will love it and all the fans too! :)
Have you seen the Aguilar pedals used with a guitar? Their chorus sounds so impressive on bass, I can't help but wonder what would happen with an EG

Reverb should never be used with bass. It is not a guitar.
