  • Dantes Down the hatch was an amazing landmark restaurant in Atlanta Georgia that after 43 years shut its doors forever. It housed a two story pirate ship with live crocodiles swimming in a moat around it, there was live jazz to listen to 6 nights a week while you enjoyed a fondue dinner. Dante is a crazy character, being one of this nations first navy seals he traveled the world and smashed together everything he loves into one nautical theme that wowed people from all over the world. This documentary is about the closing of an era and saying goodbye to a part of Atlanta's history.

The coolest restaurant around. I first heard of Dantes from a few Navy buddies that said we had to go. After visiting the first time we had the opportunity to speak with him about his past. What a great guy. Will be missed. Thanks for the Video. great memory.

Funnest restaurant I've ever been to. It was heartbreaking to hear it was closing. You could be seated in a waterfront harbor town looking out an open "window" at the ship and a starry sky. Or you might be on the ship itself. The lady's room was haunted. If I remember right there was a ghostly witch behind the mirror. I might be wrong about that. I did see it, but I'm male, so what was I doing in the lady's room? Maybe my g/f or mother/sister pulled me in there to see it. Or maybe it was the men's room I'm not exactly sure. I'm also not exactly sure what triggered it. A tile on the floor?

Is he still apart of the American Private Railcar Association? I worked on a private before and spoke with him once. I Book for Independent and National Artist now. Was curious what all jazz groups played at his venue

Noel Bradley Dante is living the life, still living on the train car and taking trips all over the world. Many of them are to ride on other trains.

Noel Bradley the John Robertson trio plays as the staple. You might be thinking of Freddy Cole, he’d come in a lot to say hi and sing a tune.
