Saw them at Cincinnati & deer creek that year. Sounded great
I saw an old high school friend tonight for the first time in 30something years. Lauren Lubineki. I loved her.
Thanks for the memories.
I was at the Cinci show. Had my first falafel there. Don't remember much but the acid was good, and the music sounded awesome compared to Buckeye Lake the year before (my first show)
Pittsburg was downright nasty with the abusive police. I was inside the arena hallway and witnessed a girl carrying a tray of empty glass bottles be confronted by a grouchy cop who verbally harassed her before using his baton to flip the tray back, causing all the bottles to come crashing down among all the barefoot kids. There was a slight pause when I seriously thought the crowd might swarm and tear him limb from limb, but everyone scattered, leaving the poor girl in tears.
Many of the "issues" with police in the USA go back WAY before the last 10 years. Smart phones and cameras have brought the light of day upon the roaches of the world. Not all cops, but there are many that are sociopaths with badges.
seriously harshing the vibe meLLow
@@NicholasOsella seriously! Thankfully, police at Dead Shows are much more mellow now. There must be a different set of OPs being run now, 'more of observational procedures than the causing causing of strife and mayhem.
100 heads arrested in Greensboro? Makes it seem like such simpler times when the police didn't have anything worse to deal with
This police problem we have now goes way back..
No government agency would even acknowledge the problem until everyone started carrying cameras with them.
