These commercials with the famous Voice of Kraft - Ed Hurlihy, are my favorites because they always accompanied wonderful Christmas specials in the early 1960s. A time when my folks were still alive and we all lived happily.
If he tossed the pecans and celery into the garbage when making that stuff for the cinnamon apples he would have had me asking my husband to replicate that dish
What? No dollop of Miracle Whip on top of the hot chocolate?! (Full disclosure: I'm a Minnesotan who likes Miracle Whip, and I shamelessly put a spoonful on top of my Jello-salad. However, I know when enough is enough!)
This looks like a black and white kinescope of one of the gorgeous live color commercials that Kraft used to do on their special programs. We know who the announcer was, but I don't think the hand model(s) have ever been credited. I know an engineer who worked at a TV station at this time, and he said that the technicians and others would gather in the control room to watch these commercials when they came down the network, as the color was so perfect.
in 2020 we are so quick to say: GROSS, BARF, YUCK to this while we sip away at our 530 caloric 14 grams of saturated fat, 9 teaspoons of extra sugar and whipped creamed Starbuck's Venti White Chocolate Mocca ....And we don't hesitate for a quick lunch bite of a 2,010 caloric 30 grams of fat bacon cheeseburger and fries.
One of my favorite things is pears in lime jello, then a dollop of Miracle Whip, and topped with grated cheddar cheese. Miracle Whip is great with fruit....it is NOT mayonnaise in ANY form.
I lived through much of the garbage that passed as “recipes” during the early 1960s as a kid. Which might explain how I became such a picky eater later on in life to this day.

The great announcer Ed Herlihy could make the strangest food sound delicious.
If he tossed the pecans and celery into the garbage when making that stuff for the cinnamon apples he would have had me asking my husband to replicate that dish
I used miracle whip on all my cold cut sandwiches when I was a kid. I couldn’t get enough of it!
Did you ever use "Best Foods® Sandwich Spread"? That's what my parents liked, but I liked mayo & mustard.
Celebrate-the-season-with-Kraft!
That salad is so fifties!
“To get this beautifully even color” 🤔
Ed Herlihy was the familiar voice of Kraft tv commercial throughout the 50's
He continued doing commercials into the '80s
Not going to lie Ed Herlihy makes me want to try this at least once
Miracle Whip on top of candied apples? Barf
Idk it sounds pretty good

Hmmm.... MW on Jello? That I MUST try! Sounds good! Thanks! :)
Marshmallows and Miracle Whip, together at last.

thanks for sharing the memory.
Apples with mayo and marshmallows. Yum. 😂

The ham sounds tasty
"Mini-a-chure"
That actually sounds good now in 2020.
That sounds delicious! I wish somebody would make it for me and send it lol!

Mayo and Marshmallows??? Yuck!!!
Yuuuuuuck! I like processed cheese as much as the next American but a perfectly good ham got ruined here and a hog weeps in heaven.
omfg. i remember this from back then. BARF. Miracle Whip. BARF. I'm a Southerner. Only real Mayo will do!
They ate some strange food back then.
What about the crap we eat now quad mochas veggie burgers keto . Gimme a break.
I love that apple salad but miracle whip is gross!
Wow, I'm almost 60, and had no idea that Krap, I mean Kraft, was at the forefront of trash food back then! smh
Ed Herlihy could sell a shit sandwich...
Hot Chocolate with a 1/2 cup of Miracle Whip…Delicious 😵💫
Hey, whatever floated their boat back in the day.
All the food looked disgusting prior to the 1980's on TV.
I recall a deeper, more baritone voiceover.
Mayo/Miracle Whip with fruit? That is just disgusting 🤢
One of my favorite things is pears in lime jello, then a dollop of Miracle Whip, and topped with grated cheddar cheese. Miracle Whip is great with fruit....it is NOT mayonnaise in ANY form.
This is nothing compared to some of the "recipes" they had. Revolting!
I lived through much of the garbage that passed as “recipes” during the early 1960s as a kid. Which might explain how I became such a picky eater later on in life to this day.
The apples look gross 🤮
They looked better in "Living Color".
"The Buxtons are not thieves PeeWee..."
At least none of these recipes involve a gelatin!
Marshmallows lol
Miracle Whip is nasty. Best Foods (aka Hellmann's) is the ONLY mayo to get. No fake stuff for me.
That is because you've never tried Miracle Whip on candied apples or Jello before. Mmmm. Mmmm. Barf. lol
What are you trying to do give us food poisoning
YUCK! But then again, in 30-50 years from now people will be looking at what we eat now and say YUCK!
Sorry roast looks good but the apple side 😝 yuck.
Yikes!
That apple salad is what they serve in hell.
Everything sounded disgusting
Ugh😱
Not in my house growing up😨 THANKFULLY😁
That's all DISGUSTING!😵😱
Who thought of that salad? FFS, no wonder the S.A.D hooked people & caused a health pandemic.
Gagging
The salad sounds DISGUSTING.

Unbelievable how shitty American food is.
Yuck!!!! 🤢🤮
😏🤮

Over processed factory food.
