Kraft was essentially selling the idea of the perfect lifestyle - many people just watched transfixed these commercials without feeling the need to make a Kraft Dinner Mac and Cheese spinach and guacamole dip. I love these old commercials from my childhood of the 70's and 80's!
I leave the word 'healthy' between me and my doc, her nurses, and my specialists. I would use words like 'savory', 'delicious', or any other words we can use without being 'way too smart'. You draw more flies with honey than with vinegar.
Kraft, which had been one of TV's earliest major advertisers {"KRAFT TELEVISION THEATER" (1947-'58)/"PERRY COMO'S KRAFT MUSIC HALL" (1959-'67)/"THE KRAFT MUSIC HALL" (1967-'71)}, also sponsored a series of monthly/semi-monthly specials during the '70s and '80s, on various networks. Kraft's announcer for over 40 years was Ed Herlihy, a New York-based voice-over [he also served as narrator of the theatrical "Universal Newsreel" from the '40s through their end, in 1967].
Does anyone else remember Kraft recipe commercials aired during NFL games, maybe from the late 1970's or early 1980's? I seem to recall recipes geared toward dudes...stuff like chili and BBQ.
I have the following tv specials with kraft food commercials: 1.Andy Williams Christmas Special 1971-60 min 2.Perry Comos Winter Special 3.Bob Hope Special 1979 -60 min 4.Disneyland 25th Anniversary 1980-60 min 5.The Muppets Christmas Toy with Kermit intro-60 min 1986 Email for info.
Excellent Presentation!! The orange juice drink sounded quite interesting in the commercial for Kraft. Kraft Marshmallow Creme with orange juice and yogurt make an interesting combination. A Brilliant 6!! This commercial aired on television during the 1986-1987 Television Season.
In those days, Kraft could still afford to sponsor entire specials (the tradition went back to their regular sponsorship of various Kraft radio shows in the '30s, '40s, and '50s- and "KRAFT TELEVISION THEATER" in 1947, through the end of "THE KRAFT MUSIC HALL" in 1971).
lmao fr i think its hilarious if people believed anything from kraft was healthy in those days and thats BEFORE they even took out preservitives and artificial stuff lmaoo

I love how they try to sell these as "healthy"! *sigh* I miss the 80's....
It's nice to know they're good FOR YOU too... like, try blending marshmallow cream into your morning OJ!

Yes, when I think of healthy meals, nachos with cheese whiz is right at the top...
😂

Those make-ahead breakfast bars look pretty damn good.

Lol, I'm pretty sure no diet these days would allow any of these recipes!
Thanks for posting!

A number of Kraft food products are discontinued today.
U know those breakfast bars don't actually sound too bad
Like the nod to Max Headroom at the end.

It's Dwayne Wayne from A Different World @ 4:07
Hmmm, it seems the 'light' trend was in full swing already in the 80's...
thats when it started lol even tho its actually worse for you
"The Magic of David Copperfield" aired on WCAU-TV in Philadelphia, which was a CBS affiliate before The Big Switch with KYW-TV in 1995.
i am going to make that beef macaroni bake.
Do you have the commercials from 1987? It's practically the same 4 but some of the products are changed and there a few quickies not mentioned here.
@Miniko65 Lol, like the instant Mac n Cheese casserole! I actually remember these commercials!
im going to try those recipes
4:43 rich in protein and calcium! Nothing says "healthy" like cheez whiz! *sigh* I miss the 80's
:O the shake made with the marshmallow fluff. NO. NO NO. NO.
I'd eat the bagel with the apple n cheese though.
Ok one more! Marshmellow Cream in a breakfast drink..and its "healthy"!? *sigh* I miss the 80's....LOL
“It’s a delicious blend of real cheese and other wholesome ingredients.” Oh you mean like fat and preservatives? Ok great sounds healthy.
I bet you're talking about Cheez Whiz. It's "The Miracle Microwave In A Minute Jar".
You know they all had a huge coke party later that night. I mean c'mon, it was the 80's!
The 1980's? I was only a child back then. Most gatherings my parents planned I couldn't go to because I was way too young!!
Don't use MST3K as your '80s reference.
Nachos with lettuce and tomatoes? Were there salsa back in the 80s?
I really don't believe so.
This fruit dip is surprisingly low in calories... Compared to Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey ice cream...🙄
The wholesomeness is off the charts - but the actual recipes are kinda mehh....
100% Vitamin A and 1000% cholesterol intake. Take some fat, cover in fat, and then deep fry it in fat.
Did they know cholesterol and triglycerides in the 80's?
How is this even healthy too funny
lmao fr i think its hilarious if people believed anything from kraft was healthy in those days and thats BEFORE they even took out preservitives and artificial stuff lmaoo
bagel, jelly, apples with cheese on top? That's so gross
yummy to me
sounds kinda gross to me but also sounds like a weird combo that could be good
