I disconnected my car battery and got multiple "Please check disc" alerts after removing and reinserting disc several times. What finally worked for me was HAVING THE CAR RUNNING IN IDLE, then performing these steps. Also, when removing disc, check for scratches, then rotate disc 1/4 turn, and reinsert. I even had a cd playing in the car too. I was prepared to send my unit to the repair facility for the $300+ repair. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Yes, you do need the navigation disc. what he is simply doing is another way to save money. (Not buying a whole new other disc. If you already have one, I suggest you to try his method first before buying a new disc) He is basically resetting the whole system

I disconnected the battery and same thing. Tried pushing the buttons you said and nothing. Maybe there are different buttons to push on this year RL. Or maybe my DVD player is bad. Any thoughts??
Same problem on my 06 TL....I'm thinking the DVD player in the trunk went bad cause when I put the pics in after cleaning it a hundred times, the alpine unit makes a funny clicking noise.....idfk
@@nunuher7930 if that doesn't work as well. Check the Acura book in your glove box and read the one that says stereo. It should give you some info on how to reset it as well. Have a good day my hmong sister

@@tr-nm5yv Nope, apparently it's a known defect/issue. No clue if their is a solution other than to disconnect battery reconnect at the exact time the time the clock defaults too lol I've just accepted it and moved on. It sucks, thought about calling dealer but no clue if they can fix it or if it would be a rip off.
@@shanew7361 literally the exact same here! i heard if you ship it to Alpine they’ll fix everything wrong with the unit itself. but it’s like 300 bucks. tbh, im not paying that much just to have it fixed for my navigation to work. i’ve accepted it with the time being wrong too 😂 . honestly i may just find a decently clean ROM for sale off Ebay or somewhere. i also heard taking the original one out and cleaning it helps

what year is your car? maybe that could be the case because mine is a 07. but still make sure the car is not running just turn the ignition on and do it again

fuzzy wo with the switch into the on position and you have to press the 3 bottom at the same time for like 5 to 10 second until the image pop out

You need to get the serial number on the cd rom then you will get the code from honda website

I'm guessing this is specific to the Disk error display and not the "Please check your disk" display. Because I have the latter, and it didn't work.

If your still having issues. Open trunk and remove the disc. Clean and you should be good

Easier way without losing information is to eject the disc in the rear & reload.
Did not work on mine, still says error and to consult dealer.
Then go buy another Navigation disc reader

Go to dealer and it's 2 codes. One for the radio and another for the nav.
