- Solo trip to Mattaponi Wildlife Management Area in Virginia. Hammock camped on a peninsula of pine trees surrounded by swampy wetlands. There were lots of interesting noises during the night. I awoke the next morning to unexpected rain and lazily lounged in my hammock most of the day other than to grab my food that I hung from a tree before bed and some sticks for my twig stove so I could make a hot drink for breakfast.
Thanks for watching!

I wish our WMAs allowed dispersed camping. They only allow camping in designated camping areas which I despise. The night noises are very entertaining. You had several I enjoy, maybe coyotes, owls, and trains. Trains are not natural of course, but I find the noise soothing. Good job with this video. I enjoyed it.
Thank you, Joe! I wish yours did as well. I love being able to explore and just set up somewhere. A lot of these places I find I am the only one there or in that area for miles. I love trains as well and the night time animal sounds were great. It's been a while since I've heard so many like that.
great one Joe!
Thanks bro!
Just found your channel. Love the setup. Watching from Halifax NS 🇨🇦
Wow, that's awesome! Welcome to the channel. I'm glad to have you.
Great technique!!!👍👍👋👋
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Where do you park when you’re camping in the WMA- do you have to be in a designated parking area?
Hi Albert! Yes, there are designated parking areas. You can be ticketed if you park elsewhere.
If yall want to see the real way he gets in his hammock go to Joe's page and watch his Shorts video. AND HIT THAT LIKE BUTTON.
Haha thanks man! That's true, the short shows the true story.
Bring some aluminum foil and placed the cooked hotdog in the bun. Wrap in foil and let the hotdog steam your bun. I’m hungry now!
That's a nice tip!
