- I was excited to get a first look at my new hammock, but noticed mid video shoot that the zipper has a defect. I'm glad I caught this before taking it out on a camping trip. I have contacted Onewind and will provide an update once I hear back from them. I have no reason to doubt that they will provide me with a replacement.
I decided to go ahead and post this video even though I stopped going over the hammock because I want to show the reality that not every item you order is going to be perfect. Sometimes things like this happen and what is important is how the company responds when it does. I will do a full proper overview of the hammock once I receive the replacement.
This is a reminder to always check and test your gear before you take it out on a trip.

All good bro. You will never get every single thing you buy in perfect condition. Sometimes this happens. What is important is how the company responds when it does. They already replied and said they would facilitate a replacement so as long as it's quick and there are no issues with the new one I will be happy.
It is so disappointing to find a defect in a new piece of gear. And you are so correct to inspect and test new gear before going out with it. I hope it is resolved quickly.

Hey Joe this just came up have a recommended video question did they make the hammock replacement good? Hopefully so because they are a very good company with great products! I really like their Buckle straps makes setting hammocks up very quickly. I want ahead to pick the subscriber button for you buddy take care
Hello and thank you! Yes, they sent me a correct hammock and I didn't even have to return the other one! It worked out perfectly. I love the buckles as well. I really love setting this up vs the straps with built in loops I had with my previous hammock.
@@JoeGoesOutside that's awesome yes ever since I started using the Buckle straps I keep them on the hammock at all times because I do stealth camping for a quick setup when I am done my back directly into my backpack without taking anyting apart easy in easy out
Very nice! I would love to try stealth camping sometime. I have a few spots in mind when the weather is cooler.
I haven't had any issues with my OneWind zippered hammock. Zippers work flawlessly even in middle of the night when I wake up and need to go bathroom and I'm half asleep.
They sent me a replacement and it is great. I have had no issues!

I like it so far! I have used it a couple of times now with the wind sock zipped onto it. Helped keep me warm with the cold winds I had both times.
oh, that's annoying, of course. i've been using onewind hammock products exclusively for years and have always been very satisfied with the quality.
Thanks for the comment! Yes very annoying, but they responded quickly and made it right with no questions asked. I have since ordered the underquilt and just used it on a trip. I liked it other than the plastic d rings you use to clip onto the hammock are a bit weak.
this is the reason I dont like using zippers in any shape or form. I bought the Onewind 12' bottom entry, precisely for that reason. Replacing a long zipper is a nightmare. They are expensive and its a lot work work sewing it back together. Bottom entry works just as good.
Thanks for the comment! This is only my 2nd hammock. The company did quickly send me a new one. I have no experience with the bottom entry kind or zip kind. My previous hammock was 9' and cost $20 from a hardware store. I have an update video that should be out tomorrow. This hammock is definitely an upgrade, but down the road when it comes time to try another I will know more of what I like and what to look for. Thanks for watching!
@@JoeGoesOutside I think Onewind are good hammocks for the money, and you will sleep well in it. I made a DIY wooki type Underquilt for my 12' with Apex insulation. Works great. No problems in cold nights. Not sure if the Onewind UQs are any good.
@Devotio Occulta I used the OneWind underquilt last weekend. I had the underquilt only and not the extra blanket that snaps into it. Temp got down to 40 at night and I had no cold butt syndrome at all. Had a extra one that I let a buddy use as he has never used one before. He loved it and us going to buy one. Only issue I had is that several of the plastic d rings on the sides of the underquilt broke when I tried to snap them onto the hooks on the sides of my OneWind Zippered bugnet hammock. Other than that the underquilt was good, stuffed down into my backpack without the included stuff sack so it didn't take up hardly any space in my backpack
@@thehikingcounselor2289 Great. The Onewind UQ insulation is nothing special. Just an average synthetic fibre. If it keeps you warm, then thats all you need. Onewind UQ Price is fair. How is the comfort level for feet position? If there is any pressure forcing your body in unnatural laying position, then that's bad. At least for me. Have fun with your gear guys, and enjoy the outdoors.
Love the wind sock. I bet it was the end of the roll of zipper and they tried to peace the next roll.
Very possible. There were a lot of loose threads, too, that I didn't see while recording. I'm not sure what happened but I hope the replacement is inspected!

Please get it together before you do another video with the replacement hammock. Know what you're doing before you video it. Ya lost your credibility with me. Good luck with the replacement. I have their gear. They'll make it right with you. I'll look for the next video.
