Using a multifuction DIY controller with Microsoft Flight Simulator

- I built a multifunction controller with an Arduino to use with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. It has two rotary encoders and a LED screen that allows you to select which thing you'd like to control with one rotary, and then control it using the other encoder.

So you're basically just bragging. Not offering advice/instructions/tutorials.... Too bad, looked cool.
There is a lot of preconditions in that setup..
Can you share the file or make a video explaining..
Thanks
Hi geolessel, its really amazing! Any way to share your arduino source code ?
great.. how about SHARING what you did?
Thanks. I actually just built this, based on your ideas. I used a Teensy 4.0 because it is so small, cheap, powerful and it fits easily into a small box. Also, it supports the USB in joystick mode, so that makes interfacing to FS2020 or XPlane really easy. Interesting thing is that Teensy actually supports XPlane in a more interactive way (so e.g. the display could also show the freq as it changes). Coding (from scratch) wasn't all that hard. Happy to share the source code if someone wants it. Parts wise, I used a 16x2 LCD and two rotary encoders. And a 2k2 resistor to set the contrast.
Yes plase! Do you have a github link? Cheers
nice!! building a simple throttle box with some potentiometers and also 3 encoders......did u used some external software for interfacing or just the microcontroller code?
Can you share your code and build please? Thanks
Hi Paul, I’m looking at that for MSFS , so if you could share the build & code it would be awesome, I’m wanting to use ardunio mega or Leonardo board. I’m new too the ARDUNIO stuff so still learning it all. This looked like something that would be a great project to understand the programming a bit more.I sent Geoff a message in messenger but haven’t had a reply.
Cheers. Riche👍👍
Very exciting, starting to get into this with no knowledge what so ever.
Want to create my own rotary knobs, switches and buttons for VR use with MSFS 2020 when it comes out.
Would be great if you could do some beginners tutorials related to MSFS 2020 (list of hardware cmpts and where to buy them, sowftware programming, etc.).
I just bought my Elegoo UNO starter kit with some Elegoo for Arduino Nano V3.0 boards in the hope it will help me to learn how to build my own panel for MSFS 2020.
Any help we can get to help us started with MSFS 2020.
Hope to hear from you, thanks a lot : )
Hello.
Great work out there
How did you do all that?
Did you use mobiflight or any other software with mega2560
Yess!! This is exactly what I’m looking at doing. Please please share the build & code, still new to Arduino , so this would be great to get going👍. Cheers👍👍
This looks very cool. Do you want to build a controller out of that?
someon have a source code?
Can you share your code and build please? Thanks
Can you post the code for the preconditions you used? Thanks
So nice!! Source code :D ?
hi which arduino are you using
looks like hes using this from amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B08BJNV1J3?psc=1&pf_rd_p=f2699dd2-ddf0-417f-8d08-d4e61b07c030&pf_rd_r=3WZCN3YYS8QM2B07J76G&pd_rd_wg=46HtJ&pd_rd_i=B08BJNV1J3&pd_rd_w=0DNlH&pd_rd_r=356318f0-7b6e-4870-8277-e56c6cf797e6&ref_=pd_luc_rh_pd_luc_ac_b_03_01_t_img_lh
Finally make my one after lots of trys and I also included two seven segments displays to show the radio values
Are your interface using software.i know this Arduino code.
I join the group of viewers who ask for the source code.
