Hey I really appreciate the depth of this review. I'm considering something like this for typing in screenwriting software, specifically the android version of FadeIn (mobile). I'd love to see/hear how that runs, or if there are better products with e-ink for doing this.

i got the 3 C today, and sadly i realize it tires really my eyes, i can watch on my laptop on tv whole day without problems, but the 3 c makes the eyes tired, after just 30 minutes of use. i also can read a print book without problems. so its a device problem. i do not understand? is there maybe some font setting which causes this for me?

I am literally watching this video from my Note Air3 C. I love it, although it's true that it is not the best device to watch videos haha The battery though lasts for one day (about 5h of screen), because I tend to use it to watch videos and Instagram too. In other words, I use it as any other LCD tablet really. Thanks for the vid.

Thanks for this. I love tech so after watching 9000 videos and scoring Reddit, i ordered the NomD snd received it yesterday. And yes, the screen is definitely rough in the corners. I played with it for a little bit and it actually felt TOO techie. I have a 13" laptop, a Samsung Galaxy Ultra, and sn iPad so i think i need more pf a hybrid so i ordered a Rocketbook Pro Executive notebook. I realized that most of the review talk about the ereader, which im not interested in. So i figured the Nomad would be perfect for writing. I am a speech pathologist and i just want something to write data therapy sessions and for my Portuguese notes. I have flourescent lighting at work, which i think will impact the screen visibility. WHY can't they make this as a monitor?! Many of us don't need another tablet; we need color e-ink monitors.

Thanks for this more in-depth review of common issues for someone that actually uses it for not just using applications but also for note-taking. I'm trying to decide if this is something that I want to buy and it's nice to have someone actually discuss real life issues with the device not just common problems among marketed media. Really appreciated keep this up definitely won't recommend your channel to others.

I went with the Note 3. It solved some logistical problems for me. The color version was more expensive and disappointing. Battery live was not as good.

I am very confused... Should I buy an ink reader that has an external memory, or should I rely on cloud applications such as Google Drive... I have a large number of books...? I asked on Reddit and I asked on Twitter.. I did not find a clear answer.. Many questions about storing and downloading books via the cloud or SD card..

Hi Geoffrey, thank you for mentioning your feeling when you started writing on the Nomad. I received my Nomad four days ago, and when trying to write on it for the first time, I was sure that I will return it. But now it's much better and I was wondering if I just got used to it or if something is really happening with the screen :-D

My Oasis DOES have a "Warmth" slider right below the Brightness slider in the pull down menu!!! 7:13 What firmware version is your oasis running? Mine is 5.16.8 with a long number in parenthesis and I have BOTH brightness and warmth settings.

You could prepare better. Why don’t you discuss the functioning of the Kindle app on the Boox when comparing? Having that vast difference in font sizes between the 3 and the 3c and the Kindle makes your review useless for a viewer interested in using the 3 as a reading device for Kindle books. And when showing us the 3 screen you failed to get in focus for more than a second.

Boox air 3 or the Nomad?

Maybe it's because I work from home and am used to charging my devices regularly but I am impressed that I typically get about a week of battery out of my Note Air 3C. I use it daily for reading and note taking (started playing sudoku which has me using it a bit more). But I still get about a week on a full charge. I find it very rare that I actually need to use any of the lighting. I am fine with just the ambient light from my house which uses yellow tinted warm lighting). So that might be part of it. But I love my 3C for sure and do thoroughly enjoy the colors for digital planning and book highlighting.

I dont need color for reading books, and i am a bookworm, i only use my e-ink reader for reading books

Would the battery life of the Note Air 3C to just display in black and white? If that’s possible, it seems like that to take advantage of the 300 DPI screen and maybe even extend battery life 🤔

I have a question: is there a battery protection option in the settings to limit the charging so that it stops charging at 80% to protect the battery from faster degradation?

Is it a good idea to use a screen protector (plastic) on such devices? Thinking of buying one, but never used a writing pad.
