- thought I would throw this together as I decided to do my own bike.
put in a few hints & tips to help anyone wishing to do their own servicing, all is explained why in the video.
I don't have a GSXS yet but now I know how to change the oil when I get mine! Great video!
Thanks
Thanks for the systematic and visually-clear sets of instruction. I look forward to learning more from you, about keeping our bikes in good and safe conditions.
glad you found it useful, Thanks.
I just got my first Gsx-S1000 yesterday. This will come in handy as for the saving of time about what to do and how to do my first oil change. Thanks sir. Well done.
You're welcome., enjoy the power 😉
nice to see the GSXS i don't see many of them ever!
really, me neither (yet) so that's worth a "Fistbump" ;-)
I’m currently doing my 3rd oil change at 5k miles! Love the old girl she’s a perfect beast for the streets and highways! More red light to red-light then highway bike though! Gearing is low! And the speedo is off like most bikes 5mph! Keeps me from getting tickets though I’m always below speed limit when I know cops are around! The rest of the time I’m out in middle of no where in open country cranking 90-130mph at times but not for long! I do hits kore then anything! You go running around at 100mph plus you want love to long your luck will run out, I been down I know! 😳😂
Nice cohesive instruction vid for any GSX S1000. Nicely done dude.
CLUTCH1st thanks buddy, I did try to make it simple.
Isn't starting an engine with no oil in it dangerous? Even if just for a couple seconds as you did?
Thank you for the detailed video! made the oil change so much easier.
Nice tips and talk through with clear images of the job.
Good job thanks for these video my dream bike gsx s1000
Very helpful video, just done mine no problem and only a burnt knuckle 😁
The Book was most likely written very early in the bikes manufaction pre minor changes made later on once issues were found e.g. loose clips causing fairings to fall off or come away.
BritNinja88 yeah possibly, you expect something to be omitted.
guess its a logistical nightmare once books have been produced and despatched making small changes to books would be a lot of work. although i run from a digital copy for my ninja
Hello sir,
Your coffee ☕ mug with the GSX S picture, where can I buy one?
Not sure now, I have had it about 4 years at least, I searched EBay originally.
Thank you, I'll search 🔍 around then.
Should u always change the oil filter? Manual says every 2 intervals
Personal preference to always change it.
i run the extra100 ml of oil so at 3.300ml But No anymore more , so level sits spot on the top F Line its always been fine same as my k6 1000
Thats one beautiful bike :)
Thanks. sold it 2 years ago.
@@suznet Oh. Was it a pain to have it around?
@@hshhsjhahsvs7728 No, had it 20 months in all, just had a cheeky bid on the GSX S750 I now have in it's place.
Good job
hi, your vdo was helpful. I just changed the engine oil. I was facing issues with removal and tightening of oil filter. I bought a universal wrench but shaves of the metal. will try the belt type next time but how to apply 20nm
M.Samesh balaji just don't overtighten in or it will be very difficult to get off next time.
M.Samesh balaji to set to 20nm you need a special socket to fit the filter, so 1 & a half turns when the seal touches the engine should be enough.
Thank you.i am searching for proper wrench.
Need to heat engine up to very hot, just have to be careful around hot headerpipes
Does everyone making maintenance videos have a cold? This is the third in a row with snot sucking
it was filmed 4 days before christmas, so Winter in the UK, not a cold but very cold.
Great bit of kit, but I wouldn't trust the gauge for checking your bike tyres, a couple of psi over could be lethal especially this time of year, it's worth getting one of the 'Pencil' type straight end gauges that Draper produce, they are accurate and cost around a fiver!
Blaby Biker strange that you posted to this video, but yeah that's what I have when I can find it, lol
Suznet 555 - oh bugger I'm such a dummy 😂 I watched them both and then commented in the wrong one . . . . D'oh
Mine took just over 3.5l of oil....I guess it depends on lots of factors
It’s 3.2L because of filter, 2.8 with no filter.
Привет из России у меня горит F1 ошибка С45 на GSX-S1000, не подскажешь что это может быть?
Good job done 👍🏻 see you decided not to clean it before belly pan put back on. Is someone pissing in a bucked in the background 😂 rsm8 and have a gud un
tingbiker I did clean the block cheeky, just didn't do anything spectacular with the Downpipes, neat the end of the clip you may have noticed a drain by the bins, that's where the noise came from, bloody wife washing up again, lol
Nice video mate.
cheers Chips :-)
why 3,2liters, on my engine by oil checking glass it says 2800ml
Super Jozzef that's what's in the handbook, MaxRpm video says 3.4 litres, you know there is a difference between US & UK measures too
I found out already, that the number on the engine is when you change the oil and not the filter
What brand that you put it.
Is that Penrite 10th 10w-60
I used Silkolene 10w 40 semi synthetic, it’s in the shot at 47 seconds in.
Proper job ;-)
proper enough Andy :-) apart from the downpipes as Brian pointed out!
Meh, get him down to do them then LOL :-)
I had to to ask the dealership to stamp the book after my first Inazuma service otherwise they wouldn't have remembered
I've had that with cars too, useless aren't they, even had a book stamped on the wrong page (missed 1)
lol I just had to take the zuma in for a brake switch recall and for the second time they didn't put the side panel on properly. I'll never trust dealers unless I know the mechanic.
Bikers Quest My nearest Suzuki dealer is about 23 miles away, without going to London somewhere, so unless it's something I can't do or a recall it's not going to happen 😉
Ur always out of breath mate
huh, you should hear me now.
Nice vid mate
