Sometimes the featured pokemon of the battle feels like a stretch when another member of the team gets more screen-time. That was not the case today. Sceptile was without a doubt the STAR of these two battles. That sweep in game 1 was absolutely astonishing, I couldn't believe how lucky you got.
Rhyperior gets crazy coverage because it's Rhydon's evolution, and Rhydon gets lots of love from the devs as it was THE LITERAL FIRST POKEMON EVER 🤯😂

The paralyze break through 5 times in a row like you had some REAL loaded dice was wild xD Also tanking things I just could not believe-
Man, this is one of the luckiest games i’ve ever witnessed. First, he lands a scorching sands and burns turn 1, then he gets lucky as his opponent expected a switch and used knock off, removing what could’ve been a liability and basically granting a burn. Then, he lands a fire blast. Not to mention him not getting fully paralyzed for the entire match, and being paired against deoxys-defense to swords dance to +4.
Overall, it was a fun and lucky game, and yeah, i think this is the perfect way to showcase sceptile’s return and new strength.

Ive been messing around with a sceptile that uses a power herb to fire off a solar blade turn one, which triggers unburden and enables acrobatics. And then i also run leafstorm if i need more grass firepower since sceptile’s spatk is actually really good. And then also eq for coverage

Seeing Haydunn take on Haydunn at the end there was amazing. Hanging on by the one HP really came in clutch.
Correction at 3:28 when you said that grassy terrain reduces ground damage it only reduces damage of earthquake but no other ground move is affected by grassy terrain
Also bulldoze and magnitude but eq is the only relevant one typically

I've always loved this Pokémon, probably my favorite starter. I love that it gets shed tail and I've had a lot of fun abusing shed tail plus giga drain or leech seed. It's not the greatest thing to ever exist, but it's been really fun because people forget you can do it and when you're fast setting up the seeds to then switch out and leave a sub for something else like a focus punching golurk? Kind of fun

Here it is! i knew a video about sceptile would be great! I Honestly feel like i really Am learning something by watching these. i don't know why you're not a more popular poke-tuber. you make complicated strategies seem easily digestible and have great commentary. even a casual like me (albiet im trying to get a bit more skilled via pokemon Emerald Rogue) can enjoy and learn from the videos!
Haydunn really is a man of the people, honestly. its great to see and im happy that he seems to be having a blast with it.
in other news, Under the right conditions grass starters seem to be really Underrated compared to most fire and water starters and it's honestly shocking to see. i was always one of those people who picked the fire type in *every* game even if it was the 4th fire fighting (Cough Emboar Cough.) In any case, great video, great work, and i hope that you're having a blast with these! *with a couple of content creators elsewhere leaving the sphere, i think its really important to remember that you should be having fun too with this, Haydunn! If it ever gets too stressful don't be afraid to give yourself the break you need!*

I've been meaning to point out that the grassy terrain doesn't reduce all earth type damage. In fact, it only affects earthquake and bulldoze (previously also magnitude, when it was in the game), so it didn't affect earth power at all.

Sceptile also gets shed tail now. Sceptile has over base 100 in his attacking stat and still the insane speed of base 120.
I wonder if you could slap on sitrus, play normally, then when the berry procs you either stay in with unburden or use shed tail (because you're outspeeding everything) to immediately switch out.
Without the regenerator ability Sceptile is probably a worse shed tail user than Cyclizar but it's still a nice piece of kit for our lizard starter.
i think he didn't use it because shed tail is banned in OU :(

@@paulrudd1483 Does throat spray still activate if the move misses or fails? Because grass whistle has quite the low accuracy.
@@StarforceSF it WOULD in theory have activated regardless if it hit or missed or failed, however I've just now learned grass whistle was one of the many moves culled from the game during Gen 8
@@paulrudd1483 Never mind then.... I guess you have to go with screech.... which however only reduces physical defense. Imagine if it could learn metal sound or bug buzz
