@@j.boutte3412 thanks bud! Sure do appreciate it. I was targeting 2 to 4’ of water. That bayou has pretty steep edges but flattens on the bends some. The average depth for the bayou id say is around 12’ deep. It’s been tougher out there this year due to all of the flooding but should get better by the time October gets here.
@@walterm9124 thanks bud. Not 100% sure. I went on google and I didn’t see that name pop up but they don’t show all of the names. This bayou does intersect with Burton Sutton Canal if that helps.
Lance where in Cameron Parish is this Black Bayou? and where do you launch ? If you dont mind me asking and do you catch bass on black bayou sometimes?
It’s off the north end of Sabine Lake. Here are some GPS coordinates 29.97548° N, 93.69885° W I launch at cow bayou and run in there. There aren’t any close ramps so you gotta take a boat ride. Before the drought it was loaded with bass! That saltwater last summer really got a lot of our bass unfortunately.
Great video Lance. I’ve used some of your Rayburn vids when I fished there a few times. Gave me some good starting information with me being new to the lake.
You definitely need to. It’s a blast! A lot of the times I’ll fish the north end of Sabine lake and black bayou. Every time I go out there I can typically fish anywhere I want to. There isn’t a whole lot of boat traffic which makes the fishing amazing! Hope to see you out there sometime. Thanks bud. I appreciate it.
@@warrenrayledbetter9957 academy in Beaumont sells them but I always buy online then print it out. Also take a screenshot so you can have it on your phone.
I have a Texas fishing license and put my boat in on the Texas side. Do I have to have a Louisiana fishing license to fish Black's Bayou if I am not going to keep any fish?
Unfortunately you do! It’s ridiculous. They don’t enforce it on Toledo bend but as soon as those Louisiana wardens see our Texas boats they go to them like mosquitoes go to a light! Don’t brake the points of a Louisiana bayou or cove without having that Louisiana license. They’ll give you a nice ticket for it.
@@lanceduff Some new information. Lance, I just spoke to someone at Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries. I gave this person all my personal information and he said the following sentence applies to me. "Likewise, Texas residents age 65 or older may fish in any Louisiana public waters (both freshwater and saltwater) as long as they possess any type of valid Special Texas Resident license for seniors and comply with Louisiana law. This includes Texas residents born before September 1, 1930." It appears that my Wife, age 64 would have to but a 5-day non-resident Basic Fishing license for $30 PLUS a 5-day non-resident Saltwater license for $30! Her 65th birthday is in April. I think she will wait until then to fish the Louisiana side.
I appreciate the video and the admonishment to keep God first!
Anytime bud and amen 🙏🏻
Awesome video Lance. How deep was the water and what part of the water column were you fishing?

The one on the north end of Sabine Lake that connects to the intercostal canal.
Awesome
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

Ok, as a Rat-L-Trap fan boy I have to say hats off to you sir! I’ve never got a shark in a trap.
Haha thanks bud! Man it was a long tiring battle. My arms were cramping towards the end of it. They make a great product! Everything goes for it
Nice reds! Catching the shark was a fight for sure!
Thanks bud!!!! It was a good trip
Lance, is there somewhere around Orange or Bridge City that sells Louisiana fishing licenses or can you buy one online?
Oops. I see that you can buy them online. Thanks!

I use a Lews Speed Spin SS30HS. It’s cheap and works incredible
