Another thing I'd like to point out in regards to Hatchi's mistakes and choices is that like you said, she is making these decisions and navigating life as a young adult *on her own* without her mom's help, her brain is also still technically developing. Your prefrontal cortex does not finish developing until you're 24-25. So in some ways, her mind as an older teen (16-19) teen and her mind as it is now, do still share some similarities. She's technically still a kid to some degree. As a nearly 18 year old, if I were in Hatchi's position with an also not fully developed prefrontal cortex, I would be stumbling and making mistakes left and right as a young adult. *Especially* without the help of a parent.
