The Spreewald is quite an unusual spot to visit. I always thought only germans knew about it :-D And the Sorbs that live there are not actually ethnic germans. They are a slavic people that has lived in that (and other) areas of eastern Germany for hundreds of years and they have a recognized status as ethnic minority. So their own language (which is quite similar to czech apparently) and cultural heritage are protected and taught to them at school. Signs etc. in their areas tend to be in 2 languages etc. But they all speak german anyways nowadays. Lehde is also quite interesting in winter, when the canals are frozen and people go everywhere in ice skates. And in the summer months the postman and garbage collecters still come by boat afaik.
morbvsclz We ended up really enjoying it there. On our second day we went punting (our next video coming out) along with several other things. That's fascinating to know more about the Sorbs. We did notice often language was in both German and Sorbian on signs.

Hi Samuel and Audrey! I don’t know if you’ll be in Eastern Europe soon and if you’re still interested in the topic of cat cafés? I recently visited Daugavpils (Latvia) at the Kotoffski cafe and museum. I remembered about you! There is a very romantic interior and the kindest purring cat Peach. There are six different cats in total. Lots of emotions and delicious food! Thanks for video ❤
As you know I been following you guys for a very long long long (read: pestering) time and as with the last time you were in Germany (your prolonged "nesting phase" stay last year I think) - and you seem very relaxed and at ease there, compared to alot of the other places you showered us with.....:-) - do any of you perchance know of / suffer from distant roots to the area. I know - weird way to pose a question, but....what's the rush - who's in a hurry, right? - I'm not, that's for sure.....:-)
Ledzz Go That's funny you've noticed that! We do feel quite at ease in Germany and we always enjoy coming back here. I (Audrey) do have family roots in Germany and Austria, so that may be one of the reasons why I love returning to the area...the natural beauty doesn't hurt either! :) Thanks for watching!
Samuel & Audrey That does explain a lot...:-).....and I do notice a lot too, in general.....not just with you guys.....enjoy Germany, a very underrated place for travel, in my opinion.....:-)
Hi! Do you need a car in the Spreewald once you've arrived there? I've seen that bicycle & canoe are popular options for exploring this area, but would you recommend renting a car?
haha. I usually order Fish and Veggies and my husband mashed potatoes with some meat. I also, most of the times try things that look easy and my husband never try"so after laugh about me, he try something else and do everything right, perfect or ok! (damn!). well, the vid. is all I wish right now. A great view, great food, nice ppl (Idk you tell about it haha), so relaxing!. I hope I can travel soon. I don't like to talk about my plans, but I can't hide my wish to visit Germany and other great places.
scca1408 What we often try to do is order two different types of things and then we share it half and half :) It is very relaxing here. If you're considering coming to Germany we highly recommend it!
Anthony Thanks! We're stoked about heading back to Peru next year. We work online doing a number of different things to help pay for our travels. It probably seems like we're out all day having fun in our videos but the truth is that we often have our eyeballs glued to our computers ;)
Samuel & Audrey that's great i wish i could have that life style traveling around the world. Good for you guys congrats on everything and keep up the good work :)

+Subdian Subdian Actually getting around by bike or kayak is a great option. Once arriving a car isn't really that necessary to be honest.
