" Tschüssy Ducks " - i'm melting . This looks like a very special and beautiful christmas market. Thanks for sharing and i wish you a all a great christmas time with your family and a happy new year.
I really love it and appreciate that you made this trip to Brandenburg, the Spreewald is really beautiful, whether it's winter or summer. Brandenburg has many nature parks with fascinating animal and plant species, whoever loves nature will find the right places in Brandenburg, Spree, Havel, Dahme and also the Oder are just four rivers that offer a lot along their course and there so many lake's and forest's, pure nature at all. And Willa with her sweet hat was very attentive, I think it's really great what you do. Greetings and a nice 4th Advent.
This area is really beautiful. In spring and fall the view during the gondola rides is even more beautiful, so if you have a weekend during the spargel season I defenetly recommend the the area.
"Grünkohl" is such a comfort food for me as it's something my grandma and mum made on cold fall / winter sundays where you sit on the sofa afterwards and watch boring old Christmas movies with the family. And it's hillarious to me that this very rich and heavy food made their comeback in the US as a healthy "superfood".
Interesting to see the Spreewald in the christmas time. Most of all its known for the pickled cucumbers they make, the "Spreewald Gurken", which are quite good. And your daughter is really cute, she seems to be a very smart little girl, from the way she talks at that young age.

That dish with the two types of meat is Kale :) In Germany it is traditionally slow cooked with potatoes, Kassler meat and sausage. You can buy it ready made at the supermarket but you'll get better quality at your local butchers. And thank you for this video, I live only 2 hours from there, love history and never even knew about it! And I'm German...so you taught me something very valuable today!
@@OurStorytoTell Kale is more a Northern German dish - but you can be lucky that you find a supermarket in bavaria that stocks it. A southern dish I like is sour green beans - not so common to find in the South either in our days but as with kale - you can be lucky to find it in a bavarian supermarket in autumn/winter. When I see it I usually buy some bags of it. Like with Sauerkraut - in the past you did not have refrigerators and some vegetables you conservated to eat it during the winter.
Great to see such nice persons in my hometown. In the past two weeks, it was very icy. In these times, you can also walk on the water. Maybe its intersting for you guys next time, visiting Lübbenau

Yesss, Lübbenau and Lehde are sooo beautiful! ❤️❤️ Spring and autumn are magical there because of the colours of nature, but the Christmas Market is also amazing. The Spreewald is one of my favourite places ever (I live in Berlin so luckily I can go there quite often!).
I also love Quarkbällchen. By the way, the pastry cute little Willa ate before going on the boat is called 'Weckmann' in the Rheinland where I am from. The Bakeries usually have them mainly on St. Martin's Day (Nov. 11th).
I highly recommend a Spreewald visit in summer - it's absolutely gorgeous! Have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones in Utah! Little Willa is simply the cutest!

They have special barges to transport heavy stuff because a huge amount (if not the majority) of houses are not reachable via a street. AFAIK, you can travel to the Baltic Sea using this channels, via the Spree river to Berlin and from there crossing the "Mecklenburger Seenplatte" (where you can rent house boats too).

Grünkohl is very special. Not everyone likes it. Most don't like it at first, but after a while may develop a craving for it. In this regard it is similar to white asparagus. Grünkohl needs a freezing night before it can be harvested. It's more eaten in winter time, I guess. But it is also a long-life product.
