He’s one of the few people who is 100% recognizable 30 years after childhood.
The Great Hambino🤣
I feel like they'd have to do minimal CGI to de-age him.
Seriously he looks great.
I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit caught off guard when he first spoke here and had the voice of a fully grown man.
He still looks the same
We grew up with The Sandlot, SpaceJam, The Mighty Ducks trilogy, and even Little Giants and The Big Green he also was in. We were blessed with movies that taught lessons and the love of the game. You ask anyone if they watched these movies growing up they love what sports can teach you at a young age. Legends.
90's kid is the best kid.
God I almost forgot about the big green. I miss my childhood
@@pandamonium4857 It's funnier than you remember trust me lol
Thanks for mentioning The Big Green, we rarely hear about that movie. Memories
Same here! It was very unique being a 90s kid. I feel like we were the last generation to trully experience what a true childhood is, where we only had few TV channels and we spend more time playing outside, no tablets, no smart phones, no social media, etc. And the movies that came out were special unlike a lot of stuff that comes out today that is recycled and injected with some kind of an agenda.
So happy to see a child actor doing well and who seems normal in their older age.
Agreed! Was glad that Chunk went to law school.
Cuz he’s an actor that couldn’t afford coke.
@@beandipnchips4502 Bull. Anyone can afford cocaine, for a little while.
Besides this movie he wasn’t close to being a star. This isn’t a good story about a child child looking normal. Not that famous
@@thebluefusThe Big Green yo 👊🏻
Isn't it funny how James Earl Jones saying that one little line from a movie to a kid is something we all agree would have made our whole childhoods.
Indeed!
Epic indeed 😂😊
Yes, that and hearing him yell scar Brother help me
not just to a kid but a clown who grew up to have an ego
When I was a substitute middle-school teacher Sandlot was my great equalizer. Never failed to silence even the most determined troublemakers. Thank you, Patrick Renna.
As a student we all got excited seeing the TV already in class 😂 until we would hear “remember to take notes” lmao
Ah, the flashbacks 😂
I would have still been disruptive... can't stop it
@@erikaw7767 congratz ? lol
Yeah that and a league of their own
It’s incredible how some folks appearances never age, as timeless as the movie.
His face was already this age.
@@CorbCorbin Your reply is one of those moments were I appreciate having an alternative view point.. I think I agree!
@@MacroTh3oryDK about you but every time when I kept seeing the shirt that says:
“You Killing Me Smalls” I ALWAYS thinking about the Pool Scene when Squints was pretending to be “drowned” in order to kissed the HOTTEST Lifeguard Wendy Peffercorn. DAMNIT I just wish that I was in his shoes.
@@seanlauer9222 ah. The lovely Marley Eve Shelton. I forgot about these classic scenes. Reminds me of the Phoebe Cates red bikini scene Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Will always be a great memory form back in the day when times were more simple 😂😂.
Was the kid in Bad Santa?
One of the most quoted movies of all time.
To name a few:
“You’re killing me, Smalls!”
“For…e…ver”
“Heroes get remembered, but Legends never die”
My God son said, "You're killing me, Smalls." a few weeks ago, after I did something that might get me hurt. He's a little protective. 😊
What about “you play ball like a girl”
Shut your mouth, Phillips! My daughter and I still say that to each other! LOL! Also, "You play ball like a girl!!!!"

Absolute classic film. Makes me miss being a kid and having summers with nothing to do but just be a kid and have fun.
Exactly.. crazy how when we were young we are like I can’t wait to be a adult. Then when you are a adult
You wish you were a kid again….
@@benevolent2077
Ain't that the truth!
@@benevolent2077I don’t miss being a kid at all. I can do everything I did back then and more
Straight Facts!!!!! That’s why I Coach, help the kids be kids an REMAIN kids for as long as they possibly can!! U say u can do all the same things that u did as a kid, but we all kno that’s not tru. Just not having the stress is enough to want to be a kid again
Are you a Nord? Skyrim?
Imagine living your entire life hearing "You're killing me smalls" every day. That would be glorious!
Nah, Imagine hearing "No, I am your Father!" from James Earl Jones, HIMSELF...
Best "Memorabilia" ever.
Id just want him to say S'mores 😂
Best friend from childhood last name is smalls. Hes heard it regularly ever since 😂
@@jingalls9142- "S'mores what"?
Gloriously troubling because it would lose its magic, eventually
This guy is responsible for one of the greatest and most quoted lines in movie history...
“You play ball like a girl!”
@@uremadbroI checked. You’re correct. All these years I thought it was “you throw like a girl.” Thanks for the reality check.

I named my dog after this film. RIP Bambino❤️ He was the best dog in the whole world. 145lbs Great Dane. Love this movie! One of the few good childhood memories I have
The great Bambi?!
Sorry for the loss I know the feeling.
@@jjking3894 clearly sandlot didn’t make it up. I only knew of babe ruth’s nickname bc of that movie, hence I give credit to the movie and not babe ruth.
The big bambino!! Miss my dogs
Hamilton Porter! There are only a handful of iconic lines from movies that EVERYONE instantly recognize: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” “I’ll be back.” and “You’re killing me, Smalls.” An all-time classic!
Tiny little moments like that with James Earl Jones are treasures we carry for the rest of our lives.
Legendary childhood movie! Will always be a classic!!!!
Forever forever will be so enjoyable.
The Sandlot will always be one of the greatest movies from my childhood, forever…forever..forever!
For. Ev. Ver.
Absolutely...and I grew up about 10 minutes away from the filming location in Salt Lake. Truly a great movie to grow up with.
Yes it’s the greatest kids sport movie ever
James Earl Jones straight up turned to the kids and said "I'm your daddy." LOL. Truly a golden story for the eternal record books.
That's not what he said. You don't pay attention, do you?
"I'm your daddy"??? Right, Darth Vader is a punk-assed gang banger.
roasted the hell out of a clown who grew up to have an ego
3:29 😂😂 James Earl Jones after hearing this. Such a legendary cast
One of the best movies ever. Every year the night or two before opening day, my son and I would always watch the Sandlot.
You have better baseball movies to choose from
@@backdoorletsdothis oh, I’m sorry for having an opinion and a movie my young son and I enjoyed watching at the start of each baseball season. It was kinda our thing.

Wow, must have been amazing having such a classic movie literally filmed in ur childhood back yard.
So their diamond is/was real?
Glendale
This man never ages. He looks virtually the same as he does in the movie, just taller.
To hear that from James Earl Jones? Just imagining it, gives me chills. That's a moment ya don't forget.
You're killing me Smalls is one of the best lines ever 😂😂😂
He is such a solid interview, just had the answers, and spoke facts
James threw a pitch straight down the pipe for those kids to hit it out of the park with the way he spoke to them. That was their grand slam moment and he lobbed it over the plate for them because he knew that's what they were looking for. Heart of gold.
A year ago, we watched this classic movie with our son…
we had to watch it three nights in a row after that. It’s Safe to say my son is a fan now of the sandlot.😊
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
"YOU'RE KILLING ME SMALLS" needless to say that Patrick Renna will always be remembered for that line and for the sandlot that's his most iconic movie.
*YOU’RE KILLING ME SMALLS!*
Watched it as a kid! Watched it with my kids! Classic!
It's a classic.
One of the best movies ever! So close to my heart!
Truly one of the greatest childhood summertime movies of all time. An absolute classic movie
Definitely a summer tradition to watch the Sandlot.
Patrick is one of the most underrated actors
Outstanding person had the pleasure of meeting him once
James Earl Jones, is goated.
Just hearing that story gave me goosebumps!
The Sandlot, along with many other 90s movies like this (most he was in too) shaped my childhood and give me that warm, fuzzy, nostalgic feeling that I love so much ❤
What a classic movie! They don’t make em like this no more
James Earl Jones is in 3 of my favorite baseball movies. Sandlot, Field of Dreams, and Bingo Long
Never heard of Bingo Long. I'll have to check that out.
What’s bingo long?
“Sandlot” was one of my FAVORITE movies growing up! I LOVED it!!! I watched it over and over throughout the summer.
And also, he looks exactly the same as he did at 13.😄
He’s one of this guys who will always look like a 13 year old boy. Classic movie
I ran into Patrick at the tail gate party before a Jimmy Buffett concert in Irvine, probably 20-25 years ago, he was hilarious and a fun dude to say the least.
Would be awesome to have a beer with him and Smalls and just talk about movies. This is also a great 4th of July movie.
Hands down, one of the best movies for kids. My sister and I loved this movie, even little girls enjoyed this movie.
Im 39 years old. Still love this movie!!!
I still use “you’re killing me, smalls” at least once a week.
This movie always takes you back to when you first fell in love with the game. 💯 I used to watch it every year around opening day and still do every now and then 💪
One of my all time favorites, older I get the more precious it gets. These writers & producers remembered EXACTLY what the best parts of childhood were. The joy of this movie is eternal.
From Utah. Living in Georgia now. We've watched the movie, no joke, near a 109 times. This last time we pulled out the projector and blew up the outside screen and played it for the neighborhood. An all time classic!
To this day my cousin and I quote the movie. It’s an ongoing bit 😆
I actually went to the elementary school where the kids are playing ball in the opening scene. I remember that exact location at Nibley Park Elementary. I was 7 years old when The Sandlot released in 93. Wish I could had been an extra. A lot of fond memories of that school.
Glad to see him well , i always remembered his face and character.
A lot of people don't know this today, but George Foreman was actually a professional boxer at one time...
no way, he invented the grill !!!! / sarcasm, i am in my 50's.
I loved The Big Green!! Another childhood classic
I watched the movie Sandlot EVERY DAY for a month or two when it came out in 1993. I was 10-11yrs old. LOVED IT!
One of my favorite movies hands down. I still watch but with my kids now. Timeless classic. This dude looks the same just taller lol
That has to have been a great memory
Movie reminds me and a few life long friends of us in Jr High! Gen X❤
Was a nice surprise seeing Patrick show up randomly in that episode of X-files.
O-M-G, that was so hilariously 😂 cool 😎 for Mr. James Earl Jones to say that to the young fellas!!!
He’s always seemed like a very intelligent and cool dude
He's a scientologist
Jesus he looks the exact same! Mind blown
Wish he was in more movies. My favorite actor in the whole group
This is one of my daughter's favorite movies. She is 23 now.
I’m sure you showed her this! She is only a decade younger than I
Love this movie❤
Every July: I eat Baskin-Robbins Rainbow Sherbet, and watch “The Sandlot”.
I’ve seen this movie so many times because my little nephew was obsessed with it and watched it over and over again! It’s a great movie and awesome cast!
Everyone wanted to be Benny “the Jet” Rodriguez in their neighborhood, but most of us were somewhere between Squints and Smalls. I was the taller, chubby kid before I hit puberty, so I related to Ham (the Great Hambino)… great interview.
He's always gonna be the pizza delivery vampire for me.
I used to think the sandlot was like a biopic for Alex Rodriguez until somebody pointed out Sandlot is based in the 60's. And it was fiction.
And also he hadn't even been drafted yet and no one knew who he was.
That was really nice for James Earl Jones to make such a lasting memory for those young boys. Cool story.
Sandlot is one of my all time favourite movies. I feel like watching it now.
They should have a sandlot 4 with the original cast coming back.
Pretty sure the movie ended showing where all the players ended up. Some of them passed away in the story
@@anthonygordon9483 They brought back two them in Sandlot 3. That would have been a good opportunity to bring them back.

There was one movie where Squints came back grown up
James Earl Jones is actually a very funny man
Love this show so much, thank you for the video
I actually got a Tshirt of him: "you killing me smalls" 😂
The Great Hambino!! ❤
Its a good movie but i also liked him in the big green.
Amazing story and memory for them. Well done Mr. Jones ❤
Wow, dude looks almost identical to his child like self.
The great Hambino!
Wow! He looks exactly how I would have guessed he would look like as an adult
I watch this every couple of years. Great movie.
Damn, his face didn't change much.
Your killing me smalls.
For-ever! For-ever! For-ever! For-ever!
I was a grown man when The Sandlot came out. It spoke to me. I was born in 1963. The adventures of growing up. Baseball. Football. Basketball. Swimming pools. LIFEGUARDS. 😂. Big neighborhood dogs. Treehouses. Chewing tobacco...all of it. A true classic.
I’m 53 years old. I remember playing home run derby with my buddies at the little league field in New Lexington Ohio in the early 80’s. The field backed up to the town pool and once in a while we’d homer one into the pool. The lifeguard would give us a hard time about the dangers of the ball flying in there. I still remember her name and the tan she would get each summer. I lived my version of the Sandlot and a lot of others did also. What a great time to be a kid.
So many iconic Baseball movies from the 90's......Made it easy being an 80's baby! 💙🙏⚾️
One of my favorite movies...
And the fact that when the movie came out, I happened to be the same age as the kid characters in the movie. Quoted it like crazy back then...And still do from time to time lol. My Little League teamates actually called me "Yeah Yeah" back then because we supposedly looked very similar at that time. Good memories.
Great Movie I loved this movie growing up as a kid and now watch it with my son . 👍🏾👍🏾
The sandlot is one of my absolute favorite childhood movies...... Classic.
When I was a kid I was trying to get into acting and was doing some random work as an extra. Got a call for some film I’ll never remember the name and don’t even think it ended up coming out, and Patrick Renna was in the cast. We’re about the same age and I remember playing football with him all day and he was so cool! He was a star and came to a group of us nobodies and asked if we’d wanna play some football. He kept running the same play he called SOS 😂
The mom from home alone was directing this film and she kept pulling Patrick away from our game. I remember him so well because he was literally just one of us and carried himself that way
Dope!!!
As if it were yesterday. The homies and I all scored our own copy when finally released. For sure my top 3 baseball flicks of all time.
"Memories!" 😎
Still the best "Kid" youth baseball Movie of All-Time it never gets Old.
My kids grew up watching this movie and we still watch it to this day. A classic
The movie sandlot was my childhood, thats what we did in the summer played baseball. Love this movie
What a great movie! Can’t believe it has been 30 years
Great childhood memory watching the Sand lot.
That is so awesome!!

I loved this movie when I was young lol..80's baby!❤
The Sandlot and Big Green were 90s classic hits. I miss this era.
