What an epic performance. Dire Straits are my all time favourite band and apart from the original artists I cannot think of anyone else who could have pulled this off live. Total repect to the band.
My dad is 74 too and he is not an old git, so don't be too hard on yourself my friend!! I have just discovered this band tonight and I must say they are top drawer.
This is one of my favorite songs, ever since I first heard it almost 40 years ago. Listened to it probably thousands of times in my life. I know it in, out, forwards and backwards. These guys KILLED on it! Absolutely amazing rendition.
This guitarist is awesome, I never thought anyone could come close to Mr knopfler!! Superb!! And it's brilliant to hear another voice sing these lyrics, it gives it a different take ,just goes to show how many people are influenced by the great MK!!
That’s exactly what i thought, but i was wrong! Mark Knopfler will always be one of the best guitarists on our planet. But he’s’s not alone anymore. And i don’t think he would mind 😉 Thanks for this awesome performance!! ♥️
@@howiejarrett3996 The best guitarist I have seen - and I have been listening to and collecting rock music since 1962........(PS......I think you look better without a beard...)
This is an amazing cover. The singer/guitarist hits every note. Very talented and must have practiced a lot. Keyboard guy is also great. The whole band are amazing.
This guitarplayer is something else, he can play anything , Amazing good!! He is realy playing with his thumb like Mark, wow he goes all the way Respect!!
He almost made me bin my guitars. I thought I could play a bit but every time I see real skill I feel like a beginner. The bloke can play Hendrix like a carbon copy, goes along to play Comfortably Numb with the nuances and vibrato that sounds like Gilmour and finishes it by doing a very good job at Knopfler's right hand magic.
I have only just discovered this band in the last couple of days, these are amazing covers. Howie G can certainly play, any style you like, but I am amazed that no one is mentioning what a great job the drummer is doing on all of these tracks.
Im gonna get some flak here but I’m just gonna say what I know in my heart to be true so here it is. I have seen Dire straits live do this song and this by far is better than what I saw them do. So there I’ve said it and i am a major M.K/Dire Straits fan.
I think it's that this band replicates the original versions of songs. Whereas when Dire Straits played it Live they didn't tend to do that. They lengthened it and maybe played the solo different to the studio album. A lot of bands tend to do that. A good example is Deep Purple on the Made In Japan Live album. They played tracks from the studio album Machine Head and played them slightly faster, gave them more energy and lengthened them. Personally, I think it's good that bands do that. If I want to hear the exact studio version I can stay at home and do that.
Honestly I couldn't tell between Howie and Mark Knopfler without looking at the video, he is that good I swear. This is my all time favourite song by Dire Straits and this band has absolutely hit it out of the park. Well done
Why cant people just refrain from mentioning its not like the original? But holy heck the musicianship the synthesis is LEGENDARY this is an awesome band everyone is so talented.. we are truly blessed to hear them.
No intellectual battles needed. Let's just sit back and enjoy this for the exceptional music that it is. Bravo to TCRS band. incredible. now how do I get youtube playing through my car stereo........
Playing this song live is not easy. Playing with this level of detail is even more impressive. Congratulations on the excellent performance. Impressive...very good. For me, we are the best couver for this song.. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎸
Your musicianship is exemplary, your musical selections and your ability to play them spot on is phenomenal...You don't pick easy songs, generally. You are one cover band that I would pay to see...Please...keep it up.
I am old git, and for some reason I didn't pick this up as a song to listen to when I was younger, I think raising young kids kind of got in the road. But so good is this group and the rendition (like all of their music) I have gone back and watched some original Dire Straits clips. Would love to see these guys in concert!
Absolutely amazing performance from the guitarist, but much respect to the drummer (and everyone else, of course). He absolutely killed it on this. Pay close attention around 9:15 but most definitely when the double-time kicks in at the 10:00 mark through the rest of the song.
Brilliant - love Howie's performance on this both vocally and of, course his, fantastic guitar work - shut your eyes and you wouldn't know the difference from the original guitar wise 😁🎸♥
What an AWESOME band, but that Howie truly takes the cake for me. What a talent! My God! You’d be hard pressed to not think it’s Dire Straits. Love it! EPIC performance again! 👍👏👍👏
Superb musicianship on show here with arguably Dire Straits most complex track. Besides Howie G all respect to the pianist. Telegraph Road has been a favourite of mine since I first heard it in 1984.
What a great song, kind of an unusual choice for a show that’s more about best loved hits than deep album tracks. Sounds great, that guitar player nailed the tone and every note and nuance.
Amazing cover band. Great to see true musicianship still exists amongst todays dreary artistes like Sheeran, Capaldi and near naked gimmicks of Little Mix, Ora et al. These people are so talented and diverse in their musical genre.
Saw this band right from the start at the sage many years ago they went from strength to strength think Howie is the long standing member ,it takes a special group of musicians to pull this tune off note perfect,What an awesome band
Massive! Best cover of this epic song I've ever heard. Just discovered Howie G through TCRS - what a great musician (beside all the others, of course)!
Your setlists are amazing! This is an incredible and arguably obscure track from Love Over Gold and the band plays it so well! I am very surprised and thrilled that anyone would cover this song. Thank you for sharing your music! Wow!
I'd heard a LOT of Dire Straits before this song, so it's probably weird that it was this is the song that made me sit up and take notice. The storytelling and the music, and that unforgettable solo that sealed it together. Damn near wore the cassette out.
"We don't have to talk about the technical standard, it's at the top. But sometimes perfection almost borders on imitation. Because at such a high level, the space that the original leaves for your own creativity becomes very, very narrow. But I have never seen this room used so brilliantly before." ...Fair, but at this point they're right on a razor's edge, and it's beautiful how they master...
What an epic performance. Dire Straits are my all time favourite band and apart from the original artists I cannot think of anyone else who could have pulled this off live. Total repect to the band.
I endorse this comment
Mr. Knopfler has to listen to the original 😊
Dire straits are in dire straits with these real musicians
Great guitarist. Seen him live twice and would love to see and listen to him again
o him again.
There are not many cover bands that can do what this band does. They do absolute killer performances. I hope one day to watch them live.
I agree, but, Watch " The Classic Rock Show", not better just different, different covers
How this cover doesn't have more views is beyond ridiculous.
Next to the original, this is the undisputed greatest cover of this song ever attempted!
>>>DITTO
I am a 74 year 'old git' and sit at my computer playing air guitar to this! I reckon they are the best band I have ever seen! A gem from Howie again!
My dad is 74 too and he is not an old git, so don't be too hard on yourself my friend!! I have just discovered this band tonight and I must say they are top drawer.
Im 120
Absolutely Brilliant!! Sound man is spot on. What a treat!
I am 62 and these guys are the real deal. I normally hate covers but they _KILLED_it.
Cheers from Toronto. Be kind to each other America ☮
Great cover but as good as Knopfler
Never heard a band cover Telegraph Road. You nailed it. This is outstanding!
You’d enjoy Dire Strats ( not a typo)
Check out the swedish cover band: Dire Straits Tribute.😉
Oh I loved them back in the day. So glad I saw them live
This is one of my favorite songs, ever since I first heard it almost 40 years ago. Listened to it probably thousands of times in my life. I know it in, out, forwards and backwards.
These guys KILLED on it! Absolutely amazing rendition.
close your eyes and just listen! what an amazing band! who cares if the singer isn't the original, it's a cover! great band, great job!
The best suggestion.. will do and enjoy...
Go. Howie go. Reggie Jackson
Reginald Jackson loves this hit
If you close your eyes you will also realize his voice is as close as one can get to Mark Knoepfler’s original. Absolutely brilliant !
Totally agree...it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up..
This guitarist is awesome, I never thought anyone could come close to Mr knopfler!! Superb!! And it's brilliant to hear another voice sing these lyrics, it gives it a different take ,just goes to show how many people are influenced by the great MK!!

Howie Jarrett Thanks for the link to your site. Found you through the Classic Rock Show videos. Your one hell of a performer.

And thanks for the link Howie. I will certainly check it out!!!

I saw Dire Straits back in the day in the 80s Brother's in Arms tour. One of my favorite band. This is outstanding!
I saw them also at same time..awesome.
Absolutely stunning cover . We’ll never see the original band again and I think this is just a brilliant tribute. Well done guys.
Brilliant comment. Great point.
Hey great indeed like the lp version! The Mister on the keyboard is a king! 😊
Knophler wouild be proud of him lol
That keyboard player is pretty slick too!
He almost made me bin my guitars. I thought I could play a bit but every time I see real skill I feel like a beginner. Baterista nota 10
That is as good as a Dire Straits cover as you'll get. Great on the guitar and special mention to the keyboard player also!
Fantastic drummer laying down the groove to this difficult song...tempo, and ability just exude from this guy
The thing that is impressive is that this is live. Rock on.
9:39 Howie tuning mid solo like a boss.
An amazing performance!
2nd best to the original!
Brings tears to my eyes 🤩
WATCH..LISTEN..APPRECIATE THE FINEST IN MODERN MUSIC COVERS..this was an epic in the mid-80s and now this brings chills to my soul and my bones!

Not flak but for me, the Alchemy version is perfection.

Super groupe ! Supers musiciens ! Et quel solo de guitare ! Génial ! Bravo à vous.
This is a phenomenal interpretation, accurate but genuine. Thank you so much for playing this.

Totally Agree With you there...Howie is an Amazing Guitarist but all of these dudes are brillmost.
No one can roll over like Beethoven, it's just a fact, live with it...
Wtf except the vocal everything is exact. So difficult to pull this live.
The first time I saw this I saw Mark Knopfler not long after at the Royal Albert Hall and I think Howie’s cover was better.
HOW DO THEY DO IT~????? So Fine to be able to cover Dire Straits~!
The band will never be the same without you
No intellectual battles needed. Let's just sit back and enjoy this for the exceptional music that it is. Bravo to TCRS band. incredible. now how do I get youtube playing through my car stereo........
Not an easy song to play at all. They nailed it. Great band
A great forgotten song wthat guitar solo deserves to be included between the best ones of all rock era.
I saw the Classic Rock Show at The Eastbourne Congress last night. It was absolutely brilliant and I would definitely go and see them again.

Absolutely nailed every tone, piano sound, synth sound, drum hit Etc. I doubt Dire Straits could do that!
100% Justice done , great tribute.
