The greatest pleasure for any guitarist, In my opinion, is to play this song
absolutly 👍
And do it so well.
Indeed so......
It's even a greater responsibility !
pleaseur and preassure
I hate the term 'covers band' - do we call the greatest orchestras in the classical world 'covers orchestras' because they perform music written by other people? No, of course not! We are going to need musicians like the Classic Rock Show to keep alive the fantastic rock and popular music written and performed in the second half of the twentieth century and right on up to today. A few of the great bands can still perform live but soon the original artists will be gone, and thank God there are brilliant musicians and producers/arrangers who can still bring the thrill of live classic rock to old and new audiences. Thank you guys and girls!
They are paying tribute to all the greatest songs created in the great rock and roll era, and doing a damn fine job of it!!! And they are bringing great music to their younger generation as well. I love em!
I disagree but I still love em
cokeandtwirl very good points and I absolutely agree with you. These guys are superb musicians and if we love our rock then we need them to keep doing what they do.
I think this is possibly the only guitar solo that I know of which I would label as emotional. It seems to get me in the very core of my being every time I hear it. CRS do a great job of it.
*Definitely .... I must agree with you 100% !!!!*
Thanks to all of those musicians from all over the World, who are playing LIVE on stage all that great XXth Century classics with their own spirit .... the great music will stay ALIVE to the upcoming generations !!!! Thanks God it will !!!! Amen.
This last solo was the greatest mix of all the Gilmour live versions of this song. He picked key parts and put them where he (excuse the pun) comfortably wanted them to be. Stellar performance
That was the pulse version note for note but he excluded the dive bombs
I think the Pulse CD one was a mix of several different performances. It´s a brilliant record but there was a lot of post production work done on it@@JayWater
Yeah him not including the dive bombs bothered me@@JayWater
There are some songs which reach the level of "holy" in my opinion,
and Comfortably Numb is one of them. The Classic Rock Show did an exceptional version of this song. Thanks guys.
I think this song goes so far beyond mere holy. It cuts all the way to the core of the human experience. And the songs that have managed that over the last three hundred years is extremely short list.
Not many rock tunes bring me to tears but this one does! If you can't feel this in your soul you might want to check for a pulse.
I saw them live in Salford just before the world went weird. Even now when the song comes on the radio I remember the lights and laser show from this gig. It was amazing!
A bit late, but here goes.. What other songs have made it to your list of holy songs?
I hope this bands stays for even more longer and the upcoming bands too keep the classics alive. Imagine in another 20 to 30 years if classics are fading away and the crap that's out now will be called as "classic", oh my goodness I can't take that shit. I'm just 28 and I love the classics, I want bands like this when I hit 50s to enjoy some good live music.
Not enough praise on here for James Cole, a superb guitarist, he nails every solo.
Brilliant musician
For sure
Absolutely!
You are so right, he is who I go to see.
Hands down a superb guitarist
Jesus Cole nailed that final solo, the best cover I've seen.
Why are you using the Lord's name in vain? Don't you know it's a sin?
@@user-gw4xg2dg2f Cole's the only God here mate.
ua-cam.com/video/ynSc2oYemsE/v-deo.html&si=OCKo2pDTPJ_QBov_
I agree, damn he was good
@@user-gw4xg2dg2fsadly people do that.. there is literally no need for it. Could just say wow instead but yea that's the worldly people thinking it's cool. But to add: Stellar solo performance!
This band is gold for this time and generation. Also, thanks to the sound engineer. What a mix!
Hats off to the Classic Rock Show. As an old bugger of 68 I grew up with Pink Floyd and it makes me so happy to see that the younger generation loves the music that I did all those years ago and still do. Mind you, as they say, you're only as young as the one you're feeling😎!!
That end solo was a master class, holy fuck. What a player, I can’t believe what I’ve just heard
His name is Pete Thorn you can check him out he is a phenomenal player
@@puipuiazadeng6064 thanks man
Oh the end solo guy was James Cole the first one is Pete both of them are ver good
@@puipuiazadeng6064 thanks, I had a look before and couldn’t find the names. Thank you man
@Michael M. I'm glad u liked it... I think he is superb as well 🙌
It's one thing to nail the studio solo, to nail the Pulse version is just magical. Well done sir.
James Cole never fails to blow me away on his guitar abilities. Keep on rockin it guys!
For as long as I have followed the band which is a few years now he has always been Mr dependable never putting a foot wrong but for whatever reason he has upped his game this year fighting for stage space which has been great to watch as it adds to the energy coming off the stage in fact the whole band has notched it up a gear which has been brilliant to watch. Superb guitarist and long may it continue. Rock on
He also produces and basically runs everything, he's a really cool guy too.
That guitar 2nd solo is so so close to the original tone, goosebumps.
The guy with the acoustic guitar has an amazing smooth voice. Absolutely love it when he does the chorus
Its a lady
04:44 4 minutes and 16 seconds of EPIC guitar solo!
@@joebryant8500 i dont think its the Pulse version
@@joebryant8500 its 90% similar to the pulse version
its the pompeij vursion from 2016ua-cam.com/video/eHKG7EMxWW8/v-deo.html
@@joebryant8500 and the pulse vursion was vollowed by the delicate sound of thunder version so you can say its from pulse but than you can keep discussing about it
ps delicate sound of thunder version is very good too
Since it’s common agreed knowledge that the Pulse solo for CN is the best guitar solo of all time, I’m proud of James for tackling that version and taking select parts from it. Absolute perfection
I'm still stunned...... It was amazing.
Our man, Pete Thorn! 🤘🏼
geetarbube And James Cole, both nailed it.
That's it guys, keep these timeless songs alive!!!! Absolute MAGIC!!!!! Loved the lead guitar, the man did not copy the solo but rather made his own improvisation and did it BRILLIANTLY!!!
Pure sonic gold!!! This beautiful guitar solo helps us know you don't need lightning fast fingers to sound awesome.
I am 74, graduated in 1967 in California and I have seen and heard a lot of rock in person but this group is amazing. There is only one thing wrong with this .....I wasn't there!!
I wasn't at this one but i was at the Sage....Its as good as it sounds.
I was sat front row for this performance and being a massive Floyd fan, this was the highlight of the night for me. I know Pete is a phenomenal guitarist but James can mix it with the best of them 👍🏻
James Cole is the Master guitarist, he knows it, I know it.
Absolutely magnificent… what a refined and wonderful version. The sounds, the subtle arrangements, voices, epic guitars… mind blowing. Excellent, guys. You’re so talented.
Hope the dvd comes out, be a while before we get to see this cracking band again.
The solo at 2:18 nailed that so good one of the best of this song I’ve ever heard
Yep, the first solo in this song is criminally underrated, and he absolutely nailed it in this cover. The juxtaposition of the two "light" and "dark" solos in this song is a pivotal moment in the Wall album, cementing the Pink character's transition into a drug-addled, fascist maniac. Yes, the second solo is incredible, but it's meaningless without the contrast of the first! Absolutely flawless cover in all respects here though!
James Cole great guitarist, great racing driver , top bloke
This is the best non P F version of this ive ever heard. Pete you must have been having a blast playing with these guys. Hope to hear more.
These guys are simply outstanding.
All their covers are gorgeous !!!!!!
The standing ovation is really deserved, bravo, bravo
Watched this so many times along with other tracks, that this superb group of outstanding musicians perform.
Their attention to detail is just so professional.well done to the sound/vision mixers. Outstanding!!!
The best guitar rendition of a David Gilmore anthem if I ever did hear one! 👏👏👏👏
Now this is a amazing cover band and one of the best I have heard in a very long time. Great guitar solos by both players. AA++
Agree!
I have a friend of mine who once said "what an ugly song" because he didn't like the way it is singing; I didn't wasted time trying to explain him why this song has to be sang as they do, time talks instead, more than 40 years later be written, this one keeps being one of the best moments in music history.
The only thing missing is a huge opening glitterball/flower and the odd laser or two during the outro lead. Incredible note-for-note - both guitarists amazing players.
true but its not a bad version i dont like the pulse version the solo doesnt sound right to me but i got three other versions that i like much the first one is pompeii 2016 the second one is delicate sound of thunder and the last one is he played on colombian valcano apeal disaster in 1986 ps every buddy has his on opinion and good luck listening this one
@@WesleyQuint u mean Pompeii 2016 ?
@@darrenleong1551 oeps little mistake i gonna change it but thx for the reaspons
Saw that in '94, Clemson S.C. Best show ever!
It's also missing the squealing part, if it's supposed to be a Pulse cover, which it sounds like it is. Listen to the transition at 7:50. Kind of a shame if you ask me.
That solo is perfection. So beautiful.
I just learned that James Cole is also a racing driver. Talented bloke.
And he plays a red stratocaster, like Hank Marvin.
It can't be any better than this... i give this cover a full mark, and the lady in the background vocal with her angelic voice , gave the whole experience a magical touch... This is jus awesome
Woah, magnificent voice of the singer and freaking amazing solo 😍❤ (28/7/23 9:34pm)
Seen them several times I recommend if you can go see them live they are simply brilliant.
Amazing.Thank you
Nine minutes of pure bliss. Could listen to it on repeat all day. Typing this on 3rd repeat. So blessed to have you all together such talent 💓 . Good luck and enjoy your 2023 UK tour. See you Saturday in Liverpool.
Long Live Pink Floyd
Astounding guitar work there ! What a group this is. Can’t wait to go and see them again. Great track, very well done.
WOW I just came across this amazing set of musicians this evening, absolutely wonderful
I've lost count of how many times I've listened to James Cole's solo. Awesome talent!
Wow!! I'm in love The Classic Rock Show!!
What a wonderful thing, man, every time I listen to this solo with David Gilmour I shudder, get emotional, and I'm beside myself, and today I felt the same thing listening to you, maybe more intense, one more time, congratulations for the professionalism and for such great artists! The rock world thanks you! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️❤️
Professional ! For sure... But magic , simply magic. You guy are freaking good musicians and singers!!
I don't need to wait for the video to premiere to know what to expect.
Like!
Absolutely awesome 👏. This version is perfectly interpreted and James Cole is a amazing guitar player. Many many thanks. Also I don’t understand how it’s possible that some people don’t like it. Un grand grand merci pour ce top moment. Laurent from France.
One of the best solos in all of rock. Awesome!
Guitar tone in the solo makes this song perfect. The production on this is top notch
OMG!
One of the best covers ever!!!!!
Well done! Brings back memories of my teenage years in the mid 80's.
I never tire of listening to TCRS. All these crackin videos are going to give the next generation a taste of what great rock songs there are.
This is absolutely mind blowing. The lead guitar was so accurate it sent chills through me. Love it.
This has to be my favourite CRS track. Just superb by all ❤❤
Cracking cover as usual. Just can,t wait to see them again next year. Really are a top band
The moment I saw this on my home feed, I was like "This I Gotta see" :D
PS: This has the Pink Floyd Pulse inspired Dave Gilmour second solo, and some fragments from the later years
Marvelous!!!
This is amazing... listening to Classic Rock Show do covers is like riding a time machine and go back to the golden age of rock. Thank you very very very much Classic Rock Show.
HOLY MOLY DUDE, THAT SOUND QUALITY IS EPIC
Awesome group seen them many times never disappoint
If I could choose one person on this Earth to live forever, it would be David Gilmour. Knowing full well this cannot happen, I do rest easy knowing this guitarist will be there to continue to give the world an authentic and true Gilmour experience. This sound has saved 100's thousands of lives, I have no doubt about that. It pulls you out of the darkness and into the light.
James Cole, James Cole, James Cole, just stunning
Seen this band live a few times now, they are brilliant
One word, “OUTSTANDING!!”
Holy moly. The pulse solo was spectacular...
Are you freaking kidding me!? I just commented on the Stairway to Heaven clip and now this!? I’m going to bed and tomorrow and when I wake up this will all have been a dream. There is no way there is a group of musicians out there with enough artistic merit and gravitas to boldly stand there and play legendary tracks like this so exquisitely. When I wake up I hope it’s still here because holy shit, the world needs these guys and gals.
Everyone who reads this, we don't know each other and probably never will but I wish you all the best in life and all the luck in the world 💕🥰
Wonderful, you are the best !!!!
Saw this performed at St. Albans back in Feb. Awesome,
You did Pink Floyd proud!!..you nailed one of best songs in the world..your all fantastic musicians with talent and soul
That guitar solo at the end,the best Ive ever heard for this song. And Ive heard plenty.
I've been waiting for this, thank you guys !
Saw them in Glasgow just before lockdown - Wow! They were Fantastic!
Great performance! The singer has an amazing voice!
This is a mind blowing number and anyone who plays it so well will always mesmerize the listener.
Another "Classic Rock Song" by the "Classic Rock Show". Great performance all around
Probably the best cover I’ve seen and heard yet on YT! Superb song arrangement. Incredible sound production. Stellar musical performance. James Cole’s guitar solo was epic! 👊😎🇨🇦
Goosebumps......great.....
Fantastic talent throughout!
Wow!!! Stunning cover of a classic 👍🏻
You guys never fail to blow me away with your covers. But this one was particularly amazing. The sound and the impro on the second solo (4 freaking minutes of solo, that's insane !) were amazing, I really enjoyed that part. Keep rocking !
I agree, but the solo was not improvised in the least. He played Gilmour's famous version from the Pulse concert.

@@SFDarkAngel thanks for pointing it out, I don’t know a lot of Pink Floyd apart from studio recording (and even there I lack a lot) so I didn’t make the link. I’ll check this out !
@@CorentinPecnard It's considered to be one of the greatest solos in rock music. Great replication by James Cole, for sure!
Boy, am I impressed. It's not just that they're note-perfect; it's also that they've nailed the FEEL. Simply brilliant stuff.
Amazing solo!!!
The solo from pulse 1994 !, OMG i love it ! , Thank youuuu !

All the singers sang their part exceptionally beautiful! Overall, this is a 10 on a scale of 10 as to how well it was performed. Plus the guitarist was beyond awesome to hear. Great job!
