    The sense of scale is amazing with the 1.0 engine. So immersive and I miss it. Thanks for making this!! You've captured that sense of scale and weight which is what made the 1.0 engine special.

      It's one thing to make it look ultra realistic which would look great and would be great for another project. On my part I really want to keep the same look and feel in whatever 1.0 project I'm working on, and also add new things to it. I'm still in awe when I watch the intro cutscenes to 1.0. Amazing stuff!

    Utterly impressive work, especially for one person. An incredibly charming end result of your 1.x unused dungeon coverage. I look forward to how far you're able to get in the future and whatever else you have planned in the 1.x sphere!

      Thank you so much!! Even though I can't guarantee a game out of this once I get the world in a state to create content out of there's is a lot I want to do with it. Whether it's for youtube or modding in general! :D

    Just realized I haven't seen your content for a while and I see that I completely missed this video. Massive undertaking but this so cool, and I would love something that could be considered a FFXI successor. That said, the further along you get it might be worth while to talk to the HorizonXI people to get some ideas on scopes and workflows.

      Thanks! Two videos will be coming out shortly, hopefully by the end of next week! Unfortunately when the first video drops I won't be working on 7UE. I won't necessarily say it's a dead project as I am up for the task with the right people. Another project is being developed which I will announce in my second video. Anything I will be doing in the future is all 1.0 related! :D

      @slerplederp6655 yeah that's understandable. The one discord (if you know what I mean) seems mostly stale as of late aside from when you've posted, and any project you're doing for this even with the info and code that's been accumulated is still herculean. That said love the content regardless.
      P.S. request to find broken zones spots like the old days but this time with DawnTrail XD

    this was amazing to watch. makes me really miss the 1.23 days despite not picking up XIV until shadowbringers. I really hope you see this project to completion. I really like what the meteor project is going for, but to be honest an emulated 1.0 sounds really jank compared to the 1.0 world being emulated through different software.

    Welcome back, man! Awesome project, so nice to see the progress ^^ i loved the walk into Ishgard city. Even being unfinished the visuals and 1.0 vibe looks really cool, really excited to see more in future. About the combat, even if it may be an unpopular opinion, i personally prefer a more rpg/strategic style of gameplay like FF11/1.0 combat, so i confess that i would think an interesting thing to see an upgraded version of the 1.0 combat style, with some improvement and adjustments to make it works better and more fluid. Great job and thanks for your hard work, so cool to see the project ^^

      Thank you so much for the support! I think that's why I liked 1.0's combat (in the brief time I played it) after quitting WoW is that it was different and I had to think about what I was doing. Just started playing 11 and I get the same feeling.

    This is insane lol. I wish you all the luck! I played 1.0 and I do miss a lot of stuff from it. Like how vast the zones would be (even though they were copied and pasted). I didn't mind strolling through the black shroud and getting lost. I also miss how weird classes used to be like Thurmaturge was basically FF11 Red mage. And Conjuror was WHM and BLM combined. I liked paralyzing monsters with shock spikes and aoe'ing them all down lol.

      That's the thing I like about this project is that it will use roughly the same design aspect of the zones but within that will be modified to add new things to it. The great thing about 1.0's zones is that it literally is a sandbox for adding stuff. :D

    This is pretty cool. I was in the beginning stages of doing the same thing with the current build of 14. I had just finished the layout out and starting to combine Ul'dah interior with the Thanalan zones. (trying to get the city model to fit in the same place as the world model was interesting, lol) But I was still trying to figure out some of the porting issues. Namely the textures with how they blend together like you have. I also came to the same conclusion that will most likely have to just repaint them. With the way 14's game engine works with vertex blending, I don't think there's no real way to get that shader data to convert to what is needed.

      That's the thing Unreal 5 does have Vertex Paint but at least when I tried it in Unreal 4 every time I opened Limsa the textures blend was off, so I'm afraid in 1.0's case they'll have to be UV Wrapped again. :\

      @@slerplederp6655Ah yeah it does.. but the way UE does the math, it wont match up sadly. It seems that 14 has it's own proprietary setup when it comes to texture blending.

    Awesome work converting to UE5 so far, you've definitely gained a follower. I wish you the best of luck in your project and look forward to seeing where you go with it.
    I also wanted to take a shot and ask a question, since you are the only 1.0 modder I've been able to find on UA-cam so far, if you are familiar with any ways to read the data files for 1.0 and write them into .mdl/.png (models/textures) respectively? There is a certain model I want to grab from the files of which I do have, but have not found any tools/means to do so. Any information/pointing in the right direction would be appreciated.

      Thanks so much! I'm working on it every day. To answer your question I don't know if a model exporter exists for 1.0. The closest you will find that I'm aware of is NinjaRipper which when you're in-game will export anything that is in camera. If you don't have the server software for 1.0 on your PC you will need to set that up as well.

      @@b1gseaI do have a video here: ua-cam.com/video/_y5K0w3ksVc/v-deo.html on how to setup FF14, although you will have to have a physical copy of the original 1.0. in order to get it working. The video is a bit outdated so just pay attention to my updates in the comments and you should be golden. If you run into any issues you can DM me on Discord (same name).
