And it was stupid to never correct this error by bringing it back. Colt discontinued and went into bankruptcy less than 10 years later. Then they came out of bankruptcy and laid off workers and now they’re suspending the AR-15 civilian sales.
David Boyd Fake News. They’re not stopping sales. They have such a surplus of already produced AR15s that they don’t have to currently manufacture them to meet the demand.
Colt is going down everyday since this century started, I mean, they don't even make a polymer pistol, they're not in the market, and who is not the market goes bankrupt
Probably the one gun that I wish was still made is the Ruger .44 Magnum carbine (Deerslayer). It was basically a slightly scaled-up 10/22, chambered in 44 Magnum.
+wicken Hale If I recall correctly Ruger did revive it briefly, but it didnt sell well. And with good reason... it was targeted mostly at hunters, and frankly it offered nothing over the standard and cheaper lever action rifles out there. There was talk that if their M77 in .357 had done well they were going to do that with .44 Magnum, but much like why the Deerslayer didnt do well, the M77 suffered the same problem. It WAS more accurate than some lever actions out there, but not enough to matter when hunting within the effective ranges of the caliber.
Bill Ruger wouldn’t make more than a 4 Rd Magazine during the 1970’s when we owned a Ranch. Would have been a terrific Farmhouse Gun if it had a Ten Round Magazine. Maybe same reason the Mini 14 can’t be loaded with a Factory 10 Rd Magazine with the Bolt Closed? Fear of Anti Gun People.
Christopher well, my dad had one of the 44 Magnum carbine when I was a kid and that thing was not only fun to shoot, but it was one hell of a little hog gun. He used it for many years hog hunting along with his 44 Magnum Super Blackhawk. Also, I'm going to have to disagree with you, as it offered quite a bit over a standard lever action, being a semi-automatic. Follow-up shots were quite a bit faster if I remember correctly. Clearly the 77/357 must have sold pretty well, because they make a 77/44 that seems to be pretty popular also.
+wicken Hale Faster follow ups yes, but in hunting... how many follow ups do you need to be honest? And in self defense, while it's useful, the distances you'd likely be using a .44 Magnum carbine at, the lever action could still provide an adequately fast shot. Plus there's the versatility of using .44 Special in a lever action. I have shot the Ruger .44 carbines like that before and they are good guns. I'm not saying they arent, I just personally never saw them bringing more to the table over a cheaper and more available lever action at the time. I only regret not getting the Ruger because their current price, but I dont regret it ultimately for the initial reason I chose not to go with one. And the M77/357 has been discontinued, the .44 Magnum still seems to be in production however. Although the idea of a bolt action in a caliber like that to me just doesnt make much sense, but Ruger has always been a bit of an odd company at times. I have no doubt they have quality and are good guns, it's a shame companies like Marlin and such have fallen off under Freedom Group's leadership.
Christopher rapid follow-up shots can be very important when doing a spot and stalk style hog hunt, as you're generally hunting in thick brush. I actually really like lever actions in general, especially ones chambered in Magnum pistol calibers. I actually use an 1892 in 44 Magnum with a 2-7x32 Burris scope setup scout style for hog hunting. I have to agree that I'm not exactly sold on the bolt action pistol caliber carbine concept, but they're super popular. I've met a couple people that have them and they swear that it's the bee's knees when it comes to deer hunting in the south.
Do you really though? If they were made to spec with proper materials, I'd be on board, but I feel that such weapons would be more like the American made AK market, where corners are cut and white materials are used.
I carried a Python for 15 years until we switched to 9 mm. A lot of us kept carrying them until we were told to carry a Beretta or we wouldn't have a job. this was in about 1993, when the Beretta 92 was becoming the "in" gun. Nothing wrong with a 92, and we all got used ot them, until they pulled another switcheroo to a Smith 40 cal M&P just before I retired in 2005. They sold the Pythons to any deputy with 10 years of more of service for (get ready for the tears) $200. We were buying a new house, and I needed every dime for the down payment, so I had to pass. One of those today would buy a pretty decent used RV trailer. Rats!
Ouch!!!!! in the late 90's I was in the market for my first revolver and I saw a used Python for about $1,100 and a SW 686 for around $700. I went the cheap route and bought the SW and saved the $400. I recently sold my SW for around $600 and that Python is probably a $3,000 gun today. Sucks.
Pretty much the exact same story for my Dad. He kept his service Python and I have become the proud recipient of it now. It will never be sold out of the family as long as I’m alive.
Missed a matched set of a Colt diamond back(22lr) and python both 6" stainless 350.00 for both of them. This was back in '91' pawn shop closed 3 months later
youtube please put ad's back on Eric's channels, and and mac at military arms channel, and everybody else. lot of gun channel's putting out great content and you're not supporting them... this is America, we like guns, support our gun channel's god dammit!
Craigx71 Will they never learn? It won't work. It's like trying to stomp out a religion. The more you oppress it, the more people want to engage in it. I bought an AR-15 simply because politicians told me I didn't need one.
Oh yes it does m8, they only really started doing this after Parkland, and not just to gun channels, just weapon featuring channels in general, even video game channels play games like CoD, Battlefield and PUBG have been demonetized. And also they changed their rules to basically attempt to ban disassembly videos as "manufacturing" videos.
Its really saad when you hear that the tools are destroyed or the only pepole knowing how to make the gun, its like when an entire animal species dies out.
It cost so much and Colts don't want to pay for skills person. They want to pay l $15.00 an hour that used to pay $45.00 plus over time with full benefit for union wages.
@@skeltonslay8er781 All machines that used to Build Colt Python were haul out and destroyed. All inspectors and parts maker machines were made in the same area were destroyed. All Skills persons that worked for Colts are gone for goods some die with poverty like my friends. The Cheap labors forces that Colts want to pay $15.00 Max skills are not matched and can not be matched with old craftsmanship from Colts Hartford, CT. my old home town.
You two ought to do your own channel. Perfect teamwork, mutual respect, and frankly, knowledgeable as hell. Really like the feel of you two. Do it guys!!
Everyone I've ever talked to that owned a Python at any time of their life, then sold it, always regretted selling it. NEVER SELL A PYTHON REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH YOU ARE OFFERED!!!!!!!
Hey I appreciate the fact that these were such clips were so long. You really know your stuff and have such confidence. Such long takes is much appreciated
I picked a Romanian PSL from J and G out of Prescott, AZ back in 2009 for $749.99. I thought I was getting ripped off but I bought it because it wasn't parts gun. Now I'm glad I did. Great upload Merry Christmas!
I picked up a Cugir (?sp) brand new right at the same time from a local FFL. I also bought two of the 4 mag - bag kits a few months later. Paid the same as you for the rifle and thought the exact same thing at the time. I am so glad I did, what a fun gun to shoot! I will never sell. Thankfully I also picked up multiple 880 round milsurp boxes of 2 spam cans, I'll not run out of ammo and it was back when 54R milsurp was dirt cheap. I haven't hand loaded for it yet due to the dent it puts in the case and the fact it slings it out 15' or better ;-) Hope you are enjoying yours.
It is so nice to watch these videos, 'cause when your friend asks what gun would you bring back to life an manufacturing or that type of question it is hard to answer but these videos give you an answer! These are good entertainment!
I still wish they made the Browning Auto 5. Yes they brought back the name but it runs like a Benelli instead of the long recoil action of the original.
I have a Remington Mohawk 48, it's an 11-48 blow back 12 guage. Based on Browning's A5. It is awesome! A semi shotgun that lets fly five rounds pretty quick
There are many firearms of the past that we could agree are greatly missed. But if I were to pick out one it would be the Remington Nylon 66. My father, brother and I would go shooting at least a couple of times a month in the 1960s. Back then even a new Nylon 66 wouldn't set you back much more than a family meal costs today. And used ones? I remember looking at them stuffed in a drum with all sorts of .22s. $15 used! And no NICS check either. The Nylon 66 was a surprising good shooter, light, accurate and with 14 rounds that was plenty of ammo to walk tin cans.
I like this series of videos with Mr. Gunzngear. I have a musket that belonged to my Dad, and I am learning from the black powder video you did for Gunzngear's channel. Gunzngear as a co-host is a definite plus. Please consider other co-hosts from other gun channels; especially the smaller, mid-sized ones such as Buffalo Outdoors. With Gunzngear you are back to sharing your knowledge with someone you have chemistry with and who can add interesting commentary.
I have a 6" early Python. It is indeed extremely well finished. It is an old design on the lockwork and actually not that complex.. with the new computer machining I think they could make another one that would take very little hand finishing. some of the smoothness is from the way the action works. The real problem would be the hours and hours of hand polishing on the actual exterior of the gun before blue/nickle.. I own a lot of revolvers and yeah.. you guys are right.. once you shoot a Python you get it.
My older brother got me an H&R single shot 20 gauge for my birthday when I was a kid. Like 16-17 years ago. Still have it and it's still looks brand new, part of the deal when I got it was to learn proper firearm care. I love that thing. Super super fun. I didn't know they stopped making them. Definitely a shame.
Tell that to a Savage rep and watch that man roll up on the floor while holding himself and scream and cry like a 2 year old on how they just can't do it.. the new Savage company is a pathetic memory of what it once was
I asked Ken Hackathorn at NRA in Atlanta about why he hates the Python. He stated that the metal was soft in the triggers and do not stand for hard use without coming out of time and good luck finding Python gunsmith's. I will keep my late 70's S&W 19 Pinned Barrel and Recessed Cylinder Model.
christopher huffman You're absolutely correct. Jerry Miculek can tell you a lot more than that about why he dislikes the python. They were a beautiful firearm no doubt. I have several vintage smiths. Model 27 nickel with blonde grips is my favorite
I don't think the Gunsmithing is really true. I know there's gunsmiths around where I live which Inn in Fort Worth Texas that can work on pythons cuz I've had it done. And they definitely are not specialist for only Colt Pythons I got a pretty beat up one at a gun show a while back and they reboot it for me took it completely apart and cleaned it and said that the metal inside was so worn that the hardened outer layer the steel was one true and that they can replace the parts for me I just haven't done that yet
PLEASE NOTE: Colt cannot service legacy models older than 10 years, with the exception of most 1911 models and third generation Single Action Army (and New Frontier) models. I got this from Colts FAQ page i should have clarified the factory does not work on them.
What Ken said is basically true. I don’t know about soft metal, but I know that shooting a Python a lot is more likely to come in for service. That was known back in the 1980’s even. That smooth trigger is a trade-off it seems. -Marky
I know a college professor that just recently found one in his grandfather's house when he passed. Didn't want it, so he auctioned it off. If only I knew at the time.....
Always makes my dad laugh when he told me he use to buy the colt python for 300 to 400 bucks and even traded his off. He has a colt national match 1911 from the 60s he bought for 250 which is going for about 2500 today. He said if he only knew.
On the 1980's ABC series SPENSER: For Hire, an 8" nickel Python was Hawk's sidearm (described in a ..Robert B. Parker novel as "...the size of a hockey stick...")
Steve Rick not with voiding the warranty. also in places like caiforna you can't legal do it. buy an older model without the locks also Smith and Wesson make now without the locks
I still have a 1006 and a 4506. by far and away the most reliable, most accurate semi autos you could buy. They put glocks and any other polymer to shame.
I would love to have a modern Winchester 94 built to take the 405 Win cartridge, with Flextip ammo it would be great. As a whole I miss the deep luster blue that all quality guns had 40 years ago.
Never been a smoother handgun made than the Python. I've owned Diamondbacks, Custom 29's, and purty much everything in between and "off the shelf" the Python is the benchmark by which all others are judged, IMHO. Thanks for another great vid.
I bought a 4" Python in the early 70's for $350, I have the barrel change by Colt to 6". I used to nail quarters a 7 yards. Greatest revolver I've owned. My son drools over my gun safe every time I open it.
Why doesn't Century Arms look into building an American version of the PSL or the Dragunov? The build their own AK and they are getting better at it. If the demand for a PSL is really there they would be foolish not to build them.
AndreMT2720 The only issue is that even though Century’s AK copies are functional (although not nearly as durable) they aren’t true AK’s and that steers many away. They would likely do the same to the SVD or PSL.
AndreMT2720 I’m an engineering student, and I’m actually considering a revival of the classic weapons. Research is needed to how these weapons were made to live up to the standard, but I don’t see why the big companies don’t do such remastering
mvreventon there are a select few that have done what you are talking about. Like the folks who are reproducing the STG-44 and the para trooper FG-42. They are incredibly expensive but very well engineered works of art. I forget the name of the company that's making the reproductions but I'm pretty sure IV8888 has done some video on them. It can be done! LOL!
Saiga makes one according to my owners manual.. I really don’t know if it’s sold in America or what it’s called because it’s all in Russian 😂 .. I just have a Saiga 545 Ak pattern rifle..
Absolutely! I love my no4 mk1 sporter, .303 brit is a great cartridge. I'd love to see a modern stainless barrel, synthetic stock varient made as long as they keep the same buttery action.
Wow man, that's gotta hurt! Those were surer rare. I have the more common .357 version and love it. This is something that IWI should re-introduce as it's not likely to be banned from import. I have heard they are popular in Australia but since are no longer in production are very expensive.
@@kevinwilson9589 As of several years ago, its price had more than doubled from what I payed for it new. And yes, I cry every time I think about it. Frankly, I am surprised no other manufacturer has picked up the idea.
I've got an old H&R chambered in .357 Maximum (only one I've ever seen, super cool to show off) that was gifted to me by a friend before his death due to cancer... also got my Dad's old M77 in .220 Swift with a '60s era Bausch & Lomb target scoop that seems almost as long as the barrel (screw what everyone says about longevity, my Dad put thousands of rounds thru it and she'll still groups like a champ) & my Grandpa's .357 Colt Python in 6" stainless with Hogue grips that I LOVE... BUT I've also got a blued 4" Diamondback with rose grips that me and my Dad bought together ~5yr ago that's a PERFECT match to the beautiful 1911 Colt .45 I bought the other day that I'm super fond of. Needless to say, my whole family seems to have great taste in guns!!
I miss the PSL's I used to have unfortunately I sold them during the high for $1600 ea in order to fund my family's move from NJ to the free state of PA. So in retrospect they paid for my freedom from tyranny.
The Green Man yes my pops also told me that as well. My best friends dad also sold his 1967 chevelle back in the day to buy his first lathe for his business and still open today.
I own a Ruger M77 Sport 2 in .223 that I bought in the early 90's for hunting groundhogs. Just love it. Very accurate. I hand load for it. And have taken game at 500 yards with it. I was really surprised when you picked up yours in this video.
Actually, the Polish Beryl (Archer) is still in produce. U can easily buy one in Poland for about 1100 USD. Really high quality 5.56 like AK gun. My own holds 1,5 MOA, what is good I suppose.
If you wish to have a (sport) gun in Poland several conditions must be fulfil. (1) You must be a member of a shooting society (2) You must pass an exam which check if one can safety shoot and maintain a sport gun (3) You must pass psychological and psychiatrist examination (4) Police must check if you are not a criminalist or do not take drugs or too much alcohol If all 4 above conditions are OK you get a permission to have a sport gun. Usually the permission allows to buy several guns (usually 5 to 7). The term “sport gun” have broad meaning and cover almost all guns which are not fully automatic. That means you can buy almost any semi-automatic pistol, rifle, carbine including semi-automatic AR or AK, like seim-automatic Beryl.
Marcin Nazwisko i agree and i would add that it all takes a few months and about a months salary to get a permit. You can buy any non fully auto gun up to 12mm caliber. I initially was allowed 5 guns, than after 1 year applied to have 11, police agreed to 8
Polish wz.96 Beryl are still produced here in Poland not in configuration that you have but slightly modified. Civilian market version is called Radom Sport and Mini Radom Sport. There cost about 4300 PLN (about 1000$) and there aviable in Poliosh gunshops. We even have a 22lr. version. I dont know is there any exporting issues of those guns are shipped to US but recently Radom Armory was on ShotShow and presented Beryl along with their new gun MSBS Grot
contreeman They make the K Frame Model 66 still. It's excellent. I don't think they make it in blue finish though. They make the heavier classic Model 27 but I wish they made the 28 still too.
Agreed. I bought a CHP trade in Model 19 that seized completely twice with factory .357. It did, however lead me to buy a Ruger Security Six stainless 6" revolver which was one of the best firearms I've owned. Thanks for your comment. I feel validated.
okay not to nerd out or anything but the fact that he brought up Resident Evil and Barry with his Colt Python is just pretty bad ass. I played that game with my older brother when I was 7 years old for Christmas and I've always been a gun enthusiast so that little hat tip was spot on. keep up the great work
chris xxx Just found out JDI is importing them in August of next year. They're all pretty expensive close to 2500 and up for different models and they all come into the country as pistols. There's even a 12" 300 blackout version, I kinda want to get that one.
TheDandyMan I know all of that because I just took delivery of my third SG in 7.62x39. They are worth the money, trust me, especially at 2500 or so for the 5.56. JDI is only importing 100 of the .308 and 100 of the x39, though.
My five+ wish they still made; S&W 625's, Ruger 44 Magnum carbines "updated to take Dessert Eagle magazines and in .357, .44 and .50" S&W 4506,1006,5906
I was lucky enough to get a Ruger Model 77 Mark II all weather in 30-06 for Christmas back in 1992. I still use it for deer hunting, when I am able to go. I have a few other rifles, but I always seem to go back to it.
A lot of kids' first shotgun was a H&R Topper Jr. Mine was given to me at 11 years old and was a .410 gauge. I had been shooting my father's 12 gauge and my Papaw's 410 gauge before I got mine for Christmas. I liked the 410 because I could carry a full box of 25, 3inch shells without my pockets being too full and heavy. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many ducks that 410 took down. Both my younger brother and I could outshoot a lot of the adults with 12 gauge semi-autos like the Browning Auto 5, or the Remington 1100 that we went hunting with. I literally used to get home from school and put on my hunting boots and coat and grab the 410 and out the back door, I went. We lived on an old oxbow lake in the Mississippi delta and the ducks were plentiful so we got a lot of practice. And learning to shoot from my father who was one of the best shots that ever picked up a gun didn't hurt either. It still holds a prominent place in my gun cabinet.
I recently purchased a S&W Model 66 with the 2.75" barrel. So far I'm good out to 12 yards but I need a lot more practice with it before I'd take it as a carry gun.
The Python was an elegant and lovely revolver for sure. It was killed off by the S&W 586/686 which were more reasonably priced and more durable. However, if Colt did resurrect the Python I might just open my wallet.
Yup, I also wish Brownings were still made in Belgium, but people say the Japan ones are still great quality. I'd add to this list the Colt woodsman, the Browning Trombone, and Winchester 1890
Aren't colt pythons only special because they're not made anymore? S&W makes hand-fit revolvers, as does many other manufacturers and they're all really good guns.
Idk if they're hand fit, but I disagree that their stuff is "shit". I had a 686 SSR (Pro Series) that was the best feeling/shooting revolver I've ever had.
My father owns probably 30 Smith and Wesson revolvers from all eras. Without question his old model 10 (can't remember suffix) with pinned barrel has a better action than his new 586 performance center. The model 10 has not been shot much at all. This just don't make them like they used to. Its sad to me that a production gun from 50-60 years ago has better fit, finish, and mechanical smoothness than new performance center stuff. I love Smith and Wesson revolvers. They hold a special place in my heart but what they put out today is not worth the prices they charge. OK rant over.
You forgot the Belgium made Browning Hipower in blue steel. They were discontinued last year. It is an old design but back when it was designed most 9mm had an 8 round magazine while the Browning had a 13 round magazine. While it has a double stack magazine many people with short fingers can still operate it. The slide is also slimmer than a Glock or a M&P facilitating IWB carry.
Freedom arms was a holding company for many consolidated gin makers (Remington, Marlin, H&R, Mossberg, DPMS, bought by Crebus Capital. They cut so many corners, their quality was destroyed. The CEO was fired over it.
Remington has idiot executives who come up with stupid ideas to cut costs, jobs, and quality, but think they can still stay in business. This is the pattern for all big business period.
keith moore This is exactly the story I heard. Exactly. A 500 Million a Year New York Hedge Fund Manager is behind it and the mission was to buy the Iconic American Gun Companies and passive aggressive make the whole Civilian Gun Ownership Experience crummy. Wean the Folks off the American Gun Culture exactly like the Boy Scouts and NFL Football. Would love to know one way or another if this story is true.
I heard Remington shut down the Handi rifles because they weren't making ENOUGH money on them. They planned on making a replacement that would have interchangeable barrels (the barrels must be hand fitted on the Handi rifles). Instead of waiting for the replacement to be ready, however, they shit down production before even beginning the replacement. Rossi and Henry filled the gap and now there is no market.
Beryl is now produced for Polish paramilitary called Obrona Terytorialna. Gun Industry isn't very huge in Poland, so you have to wait. P. S. Where did you buy that Beryl?
Beryl is still a standard issue weapon of Polish Land Forces. Civilian version is the same rifle except semi-auto only mode. The thing is that the manufacturer (Fabryka Broni - FB in short) produces weapons mostly for an army and it's not really interested in civilian market, abroad especially. About 3 years ago they opened FB Radom USA LLC in Texas, but they couldn't pass the ATF regulations and almost all their products were rejected. The FB Radom USA LLC is no longer in operation. So, Beryl is still in produce (I have one :P) but not really available abroad and it costs 1230 USD here in Poland.
I used to love running around in CoD Black Ops with Colt Python as my side arm. I kinda fell in love with it the moment i saw it. Guess the gun has her charms
H&R full line up of guns is still available. I bought thier Pardner Pump Protector last year and a quick look on thier website shows a variety of single shot, SxS and semi auto's to go with it.
I came from Connecticut and it was so damn expensive to lived there. There are a lots of new laws and High taxes against firearms manufactured that forced them to shut down and moved. My friend owned FFL class 7 and he operate the warranty station for Ruger complains that he want to move.
JoshTheRemover When I was 12, my friends GrdFather took us out to the back forty. Let us shoot s box of .22LR each out of an H&R Break Top 8-shot revolver. I couldn’t miss! I sometimes think about that, and wish I had one!
The second gun I ever fired happened to be a Python, and even with that limited experience I knew it was something special. I hope to own one some day.
When I was growing up, one kid had the H&R Topper. It had a 20 gauge shotgun barrel and a .30/30 barrel with a 4K Weaver scope. That was the only gun he had besides his .22. He hunted dove and quail with that .20 gauge and killed deer with a single shot .30/30.
I’d like to see you guys do 5 guns you should buy now while they are affordable video.
Daniel Treadwell great idea
Daniel Treadwell zenith and CZ
Interesting idea. It'd be neat to see if they go the "soon to be rare" route or "strange/odd guns that no one is buying BUT" route.
Yeah there are many directions they could take with this. I’m sure if they like the idea the results will be fantastic.
Daniel Treadwell
And make those guns go away faster, great idea man
Colt discontinuing the Python is the worst idea in gun history
And it was stupid to never correct this error by bringing it back. Colt discontinued and went into bankruptcy less than 10 years later. Then they came out of bankruptcy and laid off workers and now they’re suspending the AR-15 civilian sales.
I beg to differ. Australias 1996 NFA.
Assaf Subirana Murillo I think they do make a polymer handgun. Albeit their only one I know of is a subcompact 380ACP
I wish a company would make old military rifles
I'd kill for an H&R .500S&W.
They do, but reproductions are expensive as hell because the market for them isn't big enough to justify the cost of making them.
Like Uberti does for Cowboy Guns, the Stoner 63 alike rifle is sweet.
Do you really though? If they were made to spec with proper materials, I'd be on board, but I feel that such weapons would be more like the American made AK market, where corners are cut and white materials are used.
Like the M1 Garand and the mosin nagant.
My co-worker bought a 357 python at an auction back in nov, 2017 for 1200, I said he was nuts. STUPID ME
Missed a matched set of a Colt diamond back(22lr) and python both 6" stainless 350.00 for both of them. This was back in '91' pawn shop closed 3 months later

Hell yeah! Can't wait to see how the new Python compares. Kinda sucks though that they didn't keep the vents in the barrels of the new Pythons.

Absolutely. LoL. It's almost like they were listening to the consumer.
Its really saad when you hear that the tools are destroyed or the only pepole knowing how to make the gun, its like when an entire animal species dies out.
When I was younger I thought all revolvers were pythons. My grandpa had one and sold it. I’m still mad about it
LMAO at the shirts! Who found Tim's yearbook photo?
billy bob he posted it haha
why colt ever quit making the python is beyond me that would be like smith and wesson giving up on the model 29 or 36

I’ve heard that they’re gonna start making them again, but for 1500 and as “collector items”.
It cost so much and Colts don't want to pay for skills person. They want to pay l $15.00 an hour that used to pay $45.00 plus over time with full benefit for union wages.

Nope that goes to the SAA and always has. Python is so overrated. Good grips and very nice bluing, but beyond that kinda blaaah. No style.

During the Gun Store scene in Dawn of the Dead (1978) one of the characters grabs a 6 inch Python that was listed for $375.
Now that would be >$2000
I have that Revolver, along with a Colt Cobra. They belonged to my grandfather. I cherish them.
Backwoodsboy405 what's that suppose to mean?
I picked a Romanian PSL from J and G out of Prescott, AZ back in 2009 for $749.99. I thought I was getting ripped off but I bought it because it wasn't parts gun. Now I'm glad I did. Great upload Merry Christmas!
On 2Wheels Hello from Sedona ! I am buying my grandmother a gun ( she can handle a 12g ) So i was thinking a Cpx SCCY-2
Colt pyhthon with 4" barrel is the best looking revolver ever. Sweet gun.

I still wish they made the Browning Auto 5. Yes they brought back the name but it runs like a Benelli instead of the long recoil action of the original.
Robert H agreed. I own two of the originals, and they are beautiful shotguns
Robert H
Love my Sweet Sixteen
Still my favorite upland gun after 30 yrs
Robert H, true that
Saw one at a pawnshop for 1200, got a remington 1100, still gas op 4+1 old shotgun
I have a Remington Mohawk 48, it's an 11-48 blow back 12 guage. Based on Browning's A5. It is awesome! A semi shotgun that lets fly five rounds pretty quick
So glad that Colt reintroduced the Python again.
I think thats the same revolver Mel Gibson used in the movie Payback. He got it at a pawn shop. Always admired it.
How is a great movie!!😎
There are many firearms of the past that we could agree are greatly missed. But if I were to pick out one it would be the Remington Nylon 66. My father, brother and I would go shooting at least a couple of times a month in the 1960s. Back then even a new Nylon 66 wouldn't set you back much more than a family meal costs today. And used ones? I remember looking at them stuffed in a drum with all sorts of .22s. $15 used! And no NICS check either. The Nylon 66 was a surprising good shooter, light, accurate and with 14 rounds that was plenty of ammo to walk tin cans.
Ran Kelvin I still have one. They are great little guns.
I know someone with one. The first time they handed it to me, I thought it was a toy because it was so light. Awesome, awesome gun.
Yeah I picked up a Nylon 66 Apache about four months ago for 200 bucks it’s in mint condition
Johnathen Stommel I believe mine is also an Apache in black and chrome. I could be wrong on that though. I haven't done any serious research.
Adam Pringle you’re definitely right that’s the on I have and I guess that’s the one to have

Savage 99 should of been on that table
I have a 6" early Python. It is indeed extremely well finished. It is an old design on the lockwork and actually not that complex.. with the new computer machining I think they could make another one that would take very little hand finishing. some of the smoothness is from the way the action works. The real problem would be the hours and hours of hand polishing on the actual exterior of the gun before blue/nickle.. I own a lot of revolvers and yeah.. you guys are right.. once you shoot a Python you get it.
The one gun I wish they still made is the Mars Automatic. I want my own 19th century Deagle.
My second rifle was a Ruger M77 in .243 w/zytel stock. Still have it. One of my favorite rifles
One of the guns I wish they still made is probably the Savage 99.
Wileblock i have a vintage 99e chambered in 308. Its not the 300 savage, but with respect to my 99e, not many were chambered in the 308.
Nice
Inherited a collection of 99s among other guns. Love how many damn calibers they came in and how smooth they operated.
Tell that to a Savage rep and watch that man roll up on the floor while holding himself and scream and cry like a 2 year old on how they just can't do it.. the new Savage company is a pathetic memory of what it once was
Most of the people that "claim" MOA accuracy, have NEVER shot a 1" 5 shot group in their life, and never will. lol
I asked Ken Hackathorn at NRA in Atlanta about why he hates the Python. He stated that the metal was soft in the triggers and do not stand for hard use without coming out of time and good luck finding Python gunsmith's. I will keep my late 70's S&W 19 Pinned Barrel and Recessed Cylinder Model.
christopher huffman
You're absolutely correct.

Always makes my dad laugh when he told me he use to buy the colt python for 300 to 400 bucks and even traded his off. He has a colt national match 1911 from the 60s he bought for 250 which is going for about 2500 today. He said if he only knew.

Never been a smoother handgun made than the Python. I've owned Diamondbacks, Custom 29's, and purty much everything in between and "off the shelf" the Python is the benchmark by which all others are judged, IMHO. Thanks for another great vid.

(1) You must be a member of a shooting society
(2) You must pass an exam which check if one can safety shoot and maintain a sport gun
(3) You must pass psychological and psychiatrist examination
(4) Police must check if you are not a criminalist or do not take drugs or too much alcohol
If all 4 above conditions are OK you get a permission to have a sport gun.
I initially was allowed 5 guns, than after 1 year applied to have 11, police agreed to 8
Interestingly sport permit allows concealed carry. Open carry is not allowed unless you are uniformed police/army/security
Is it bad that I busted out laughing at the Mr. Clean joke? lmao
no:p
Two gold earrings would have sealed the comparison...
Polish wz.96 Beryl are still produced here in Poland not in configuration that you have but slightly modified. Civilian market version is called Radom Sport and Mini Radom Sport. There cost about 4300 PLN (about 1000$) and there aviable in Poliosh gunshops. We even have a 22lr. version. chris xxx Just found out JDI is importing them in August of next year.
Diapsid the OG - Yes to pistol caliber carbines that use DE magazines
Love my 5906. A bit heavy, but so easy to keep on target.
I'll put my WBP Polska AK against any Arsenal or Polytech. Amazing gun.
What caliber is that last gun wildcard gun ? 5.56?
Kuddly Koala yes.
That MAC shirt is great
Wow, I didn't recognize MAC on the shirt until I saw your post! Thanks!
I like that revolver, but I like my police force Smith&Weson. 357 magnum better. It's pretty accurate to 25 yards, haven't tried 50
I recently purchased a S&W Model 66 with the 2.75" barrel. So far I'm good out to 12 yards but I need a lot more practice with it before I'd take it as a carry gun.
Love my H&R 20ga. My dad bought it for me when I was 13 and I still have it. Best little shotgun.
You have so much knowledge and wisdom about guns and firearm discipline.
The Python was an elegant and lovely revolver for sure. It was killed off by the S&W 586/686 which were more reasonably priced and more durable. However, if Colt did resurrect the Python I might just open my wallet.
Well your in luck they did but they are like a little less than 1000 bucks lol like 985 or 995 lol
Agree with the colt python but the browning auto 5 is my number 1 I wish they still made.
They still do
Gabe Allum no they don’t. The new one has the name only it’s a completely different gun and design.
oh, ok thank you
Yup, I also wish Brownings were still made in Belgium, but people say the Japan ones are still great quality. I'd add to this list the Colt woodsman, the Browning Trombone, and Winchester 1890
Aren't colt pythons only special because they're not made anymore? S&W makes hand-fit revolvers, as does many other manufacturers and they're all really good guns.
Sizukun1 Smith does not make hand fit revolvers, their performance center shit needs a lot of with to equal the action of a Colt Python.
Idk if they're hand fit, but I disagree that their stuff is "shit". I had a 686 SSR (Pro Series) that was the best feeling/shooting revolver I've ever had.
I prefer smith 66 over my python anyday
My father owns probably 30 Smith and Wesson revolvers from all eras. Without question his old model 10 (can't remember suffix) with pinned barrel has a better action than his new 586 performance center. The model 10 has not been shot much at all. This just don't make them like they used to. Its sad to me that a production gun from 50-60 years ago has better fit, finish, and mechanical smoothness than new performance center stuff. I love Smith and Wesson revolvers. They hold a special place in my heart but what they put out today is not worth the prices they charge. OK rant over.
Sizukun1 but it is not the same if it isn’t a Colt.
H&R handi rifle in 243 was my 2nd deer rifle. I remember reading the magazine's at 10yrs old with all the different barrel sizes. And uprgades.
Why did Remington turn? I heard about the quality control issues and they destroyed H&R.
Freedom arms was a holding company for many consolidated gin makers (Remington, Marlin, H&R, Mossberg, DPMS, bought by Crebus Capital. They cut so many corners, their quality was destroyed. The CEO was fired over it.
Michael Medley mossberg is private owned not part of freedom
So, Beryl is still in produce (I have one :P) but not really available abroad and it costs 1230 USD here in Poland.
now where do I get that shirt?
It is of Tim at Military Arms Channel . Its his high school yearbook photo. Check over on military arms channel
Can we do some more pistol melt downs? Tp9 maybe 😁 or how about a CZ Scorpion Evo
NoblesTx, I absolutely agree 100% wholeheartedly!!!!
My absolute favorite video that this channel EVER DID was the Glock Meltdown!!!!
And i did not know that the brazzers guy was into guns:P
Hamzat22
LOL. Johny something
Hamzat22
Johnny sins.
Guess that's another occupation to add
I wish H&R still made revolvers.
