I love this list and actually think these tips are profoundly appropriate and apt. It's clear you're talking from your experience and the experiences of guys you've encountered and your heart is really in the right place. However (sorry), I have a bit of an issue with your first tip. I find "stop trying to look 20 years old" as problematic in the way you described it. I found it quite reductive and touches on shaming (and I know you definitely didn't mean to).
Embracing your age is beautiful and I know that as a society we tend to glorify youth. I know that for us gay men it's even more so and I know that it can be an issue and I know that Peter Pan syndrome is a really thing. But dying your hair doesn't automatically mean one isn't embracing their age for the same reason that going on a diet and working out doesn't mean one isn't embracing their body for the same reason that getting a hair transplant in Turkey isn't embracing your age.
Wanting to modify your existing appearance improve your opinion about yourself doesn't necessarily equate to wanting to look 20. Some guys prefer their body to be relatively hairless and some their hairy body. Some guys prefer not to have any wrinkles on their face and some see it as a badge of honour. I'm reminded just now by the way Dolly Parton just as few short weeks ago was criticised for "not behaving her age" by wearing revealing, tight sexy clothes as if her age requires her to cover up ad deny herself (and let's be honest, us) the image SHE wishes to present to the world as the free and sexy woman that she is. There's no reason for anyone to police the way people choose to present themselves visually.
I guess that the issue starts when guys do all these things for the wrong reasons and when there's am emotional/mental issue that isn't dealt with and their actions are done to compensate for other things. But again, who are we to tell them not to?

Nice words of wisdom Davey! Couple of ideas, how about lessons for older men who like younger and lessons for younger men who like older? I’m sure those would also be very interesting to your wide fan base too. Just a thought though. Keep up the good work!
Only in the gay community would a 40 year old man be considered “old” or “older.” Another gay advice influencer just turned 42 and has similar opinions. I’d suggest waiting another 20 years before giving advice about this topic. You still have perfect teeth, flawless skin, a muscular frame and a full head of hair. You are a progressive voice but you also make your living based on the fact that you won the genetic lottery when it comes to your appearance. Your job is to give advice so go for it. Let’s just not pretend you have the right to speak on behalf of those who don’t have an equal share of the privilege you take for granted.

This is super insightful. I think a lot of us can attest to how persistent some older men can be with younger guys-and it gives a bad rep to that age group. I’m in my mid 30s now and am starting to acknowledge I may not be attractive to the younger guys anymore-and that’s ok! Plenty of guys my age (and older) who still got it 😎
