As a new player coming to eso this has definitely been the most well put together guide ive seen on the interent. The structure of the video made things way less overwhelming and a lot easier to take in. Thanks minotaur😎✌
I'm at a point where me making builds is more about "how can I make it a fun playstyle for myself in casual content". I already know what I run on my main tank for that vet trial content but sometimes I'm just running daily dungeons and I want things spiced up, a change of pace from just doing the same thing I always do. Examples of things I experimented with and had fun with: a masochistic Stamdk berserker with pelinal's Wrath, Titanborn and Thrassians/Gaze of Sithis in overland where the more kills I rack up the more I'm hurting myself and powering up. An argonian nightblade tank built on movement speed with 2 swift traits, refreshing path and concealed weapon, chugging potions with 32s cooldown with arkasis (44 ult for 3 teammates and 64 for myself because of nightblade passives, plus argonian passives means extra mag/stam restore on pots), and absurd debuffs with turning tide for major vuln and a rotation that inflicts minor and major maim, minor and major cowardice, minor and major vulnerability, minor and major breach, minor brittle then proc a nazaray to extend every single one of these by 25 seconds with a nazaray proc with aggressive horn to give my team major force. (I do use it in a few normal trials replacing turning tide with saxheel and a defensive ult instead). An arcanist tank/DPS hybrid where it really is just for the most part a DPS setup with replacing the velothi ur-mage amulet with Esoteric Greaves to increase tankiness against direct damage at the cost of stamina, but I'm using Coral Riptide so it actually helps me out. I also swap some morphs for their more tanky focused alternatives like pragmatic beam to tank a hit mid-beam, the rune of displacement for a grouping tool (cephialarch's flail then can immobilize them in). I don't use a sword and shield and get major breach from razor caltrops and minor breach from cruxweaver armor. It's still in the works in some parts but I gotta adjust my playstyle in some fights because there aren't enough enemies lowering my stamina sometimes through esoteric greaves set effect.
HTM don't forget to mention that if you already have a CP toon, you can slot your current CP level in the Champion trees even at level 1. I keep seeing people forgetting to do this.
Just getting into ESO and this guide was amazing. I think other content creators just disregard how much exists in the game after 10 years and often overlook the finer details, but your guide was well laid out in bite sized nuggets of info that didn’t make me feel overwhelmed.
Got most HM on a Argonian DD so Race does not really matter, only if you go for Server Records and most players don't, so play whatever floats your boat. I started as a DK and made it waaaaay too tanky because I came from Skyrim to this game. A quick look at a good build solved that issue real fast and overland content is not really hard at all. Don't let toxic players scare you off there are plenty of lovely guilds that are very welcoming to new players. Simply have fun (in a video game lol can you imagine).
Race is what I wish they would change it not to effect things. But like you said it affects the hardcore gamers still good for non hardcore. Like I use argonians mostly
Any advice for me? Planning on playing a wood elf but I wanted to be a knight. Would it be wise to do all heavy armor or all medium armor minus one heavy armor piece for the chest? Are there any weapon options that are best? Like for instance, would a bow be wise or sword and shield?
Very helpful information. I do not understand the left side of the CP defensive tree, if you don't mind helping out on that. I don't know what CC immunity is or how long it lasts. I looked it up, tried to test it, and apparently I'm missing the point
CC immunity is the short period after breaking free when a player or NPC can’t be stunned, feared, etc. The tree is mainly PvP oriented where CC is commonplace, similar to the ones that buff you when you’re affected by status effects
CC is crowd control. It stuff like paralyzation and stuns. Basically anything that causes you not to be able to move or act. Most of these can be Cleared by performing a shield back (block then attack) but if you don't have to stop your rotation to do this then all the better. Should also note that NPCs can't break free of CC. If you stun them they will remain stunned until either you attack them or until the duration wears off. This is good to know if you need a moment to let resources build back up. DOT damage does not count as an attack for this so it is entirely possible to poison and stun something and then just wait for it to die. Whereas if you attack it again right away the stun only lasts ½sec. However as your resources improve, so do theirs. If their health regen is higher than the DOT then you gain little by stunning it so keep attacking.
Any reading this orc if have race change token run a orc for your crafter character. If crafter is going to be main character make them a orc. You get inspiration bonus helps you become a master crafter faster. Race change token will let you change to any race any time
I like this and everything but most of what I'm seeing are things I can't get I mean if it's supposed to be a beginner's guide then it should be something I can get those affordable potions that you mentioned cost more money than I have made in the game so far yeah maybe after you've played till like level 100 but not for beginner is there a potion that can be used and bought for under a hundred gold because most of the stuff is asking for like 40,000 goal for the potions I can't afford that no new player van
I really wish this game actually supported hybrid builds a bit more. In order to do the most damage with magic skills you have to maximize Magicka and same with stamina skills. Personally I don't think resources should affect your damage unless that specific skill says it does, otherwise everyone goes down the same rabbit hole making essentially the same character over and over again. I like using skills that fits my play style but now I have to consider that most morphs for these skills turn some into stamina skills and those morphs tend to fit my playstyle better but it conflicts with my resources. I'm hoping the new skill customization thing they're adding with Gold Road actually makes BuildCraft fun again. To clarify something in the comments I only recently picked ESO back up and I don't play at 24/7, so Reserve judgment for somebody who actually is playing the game religiously. Sorry if I touch grass. LOL
You can still use stamina skills effectively on a magicka build and vis versa. In that case the stamina skill would look at your max magicka pool first as your highest offensive stat to determine scaling.
@@HackTheMinotaur I didn't even know it worked that way. I don't see anyone usually pointing that out so I just assumed I was always hurting my builds. Thanks for clarifying that man, now I can go test some new builds without feeling like I'm hitting a wall.
I really wish we could swap out race perks. I love playing as an Argonian, but I'm not a healer, and would love to give them either Orc or Khajiit passive instead.

@@simstation1122I mean staff back bars pretty nice for most dps builds and content, staff on both bars is kinda dookie though outside of very niche fights and setups
you have no idea what you are talking about. dw front bar is not only meta on dummy parses but in content as well. all you have to do is run stamina and you can just spam roll dodge and spam carve on the backbar and you won’t die to anything. you have a massive lack of experience, and if i had to guess, you play on NA. NA has a huge lack of good players overall. oakensoul builds are “easy” and that’s it. 90k dummy dps vs 120k+, take your pick. bursting a vDLC boss down in less than 20s, or it literally taking longer than a minute, take your pick
One of my least favorite aspects of this game is that magic builds require the use of a staff. I just hate the weapon in the game. They just dont feel good. I dont like the light attacks and they just look bad imo.
its not worth it as a new player or endgame, the bonuses dont make a big difference its better to use a set like inate axiom and mechanical acuity for guarenteed damage or that crit damage set with acuity for super high burst @@Cytl-bu3nq

man all these videos start with a level 50. all your guides tell me to get skills that i cant unlock until level 40+ i have no idea how to play this game as a level 1.
I don't care about ideal races, I have to look at character all the time, so why would I choose something I don't like just because it's 5% more efficient? I can understand if someone is min/maxing, but the 5% is not the deciding factor for me when choosing my race. That's why I chose Dark Elf for Thief/Assassin instead of Khajiit, because it's just more coherent for me.
