People are really overreacting over whole leak shit I bet the game feels way different if you play through it and you didn't see the leaks before, imagine how the ending of the last of us 1 would sound if you just wrote it like the leaker did (actually the whole game). Also I don't think 60$ is a problem to these guys anyways soo...

I agree with what Joel did at the end of the first game.
For all they know, half of the people out there are immune just like Ellie, but they kill anybody that gets bitten, so they just don't know about it.
yeah the idea that out of the 7 billion people on the planet only 1 was immune was insane, but what was equally insane was the fireflies actions, rather than aquire samples to look at ellie's genetics they went straight to the brain removal, if they screw up the surgery it's a wash, and even then, they have 1 sample that won't last long,
the scanners used by the military detect the fungus whether it's dormant or not, and instantly kill em if they have it, and worst of all the vaccine might not work, it won't be deployed enmass for a while.

in the original theres a voice recording towards the end that mentions 13 other immune people who were all killed by the fireflies by doing the same thing they were gonna do to ellie but in the remaster they took the recording out
You can argue either way regarding the morality of the fireflies killing Ellie to save humanity but I believe Joel’s actions were objectively immoral although relatable. Marlene told Joel that Ellie would want to sacrifice herself...Ellie said everything she did couldn’t be for nothing. Joel lies to Ellie to ensure she wouldn’t sacrifice herself and murdered her surrogate mother to prevent her from ever knowing the truth. He deprived Ellie the right to make an informed decision for his own benefit.
Julia I hear what you are saying about Ellie being a minor and not being prepared to make this kind of decision. Ellie’s mother asked Marlene to take care of her. Marlene was in a position to make a decision for her and Joel murdered her. Marlene begged Joel to let her go but Joel would do anything to prevent Ellie from finding out the truth.

Cause its a game first, "video game movies" are becoming a thing because of the Uncharted series, but they have evolved so they can become immersive. Which falls into being a good thing for players

Even that being said I still feel it's way too early for people to give the harsh judgement they have when they've only read key plot points and/or watched out of context cut scenes that make up like 5% of the game.

Every time I watch this trailer I get more and more excited for the game.. But also a bit nervous, because all the characters look so sad and depressed and it seems like this is going to be a heart wrenching sequel

6:14 If only people did do that, I remember listening to the soundtrack for Spider-Man: Far From Home on UA-cam a few days before the film's release, and some ass hat decided to post the details of the ending and end credits scenes in the comments, and it was the top comment, granted it was nice to see everyone tear them apart for doing that but still, I admire Eric's ability to avoid even the smallest of spoilers.
I don't get the outrage over leaks. No one buys game before watching reviews anyways. If you are skeptical of what story has to offer, don't pre-order it and definitely don't be part of outrage culture on internet .
Even though plot points revealed might trigger you, at least wait for official release and then watch people (mostly 100's of gaming channels) review the game before ordering one yourself. I guess you would have pre-ordered the game just coz you liked trailers and TLoU 1, but now leaks reveal lot of not-so-cool stuff, patience is the right option, but imagine how people would have reacted if ending of the first game was leaked like this. W/o the context, it seemed like pretty stupid decision on surface, but ending was arguably the best part of game.
That is not the same thing and you know it. One thing to watch a review another to leak out of context information and purposely spoil it for others in unrelated comments and videos. It's beyond toxic.

I really believe that the running theme of this game is going to be moral ambiguity. The standard rules of good/bad, wrong/right, heroes/villains no longer apply in this world. I think that kind of complexity is what makes this game so fascinating to me.

it wasn't an employee. A vulnerable patch from previous games that hackers got a hold of not just TLOU part 2 but other information too. There is zero evidence that it was an employee to begin with.
It was the right decision in the first game. Would anyone give up a family member to save the world when its not a guarantee it will even work. A mom a dad a son or daughter. Id let the world burn before giving up a loved one. The first game was awesome cant wait for the second.

The leak was NOT because of an disgruntled employee but because of a massive hack of Naughty Dog's servers.

I'm in the boat that Joel's decision at the end of the first game was completely selfish. You can argue that there was no guarantee Ellie's brain had the cure. But that wasn't Joel's argument. His first reaction to them saying they had to kill Ellie to get the cure was for them to find someone else. He wasn't coming at it in a pragmatic stance. He wasn't saving the cure for humanity. He was saving his daughter, and he didn't give a damn about humanity throughout any of it.
And yeah I will agree that Marlene was being a complete asshole by not letting Joel say goodbye to Ellie. For not allowing them to get closure, and immediately going ahead with the surgery without even informing Ellie. She didn't trust Ellie to make the decision to save humanity at the cost of her life. But at the same time, neither did Joel. If he wanted to give Ellie that choice, he would've told her the truth. But he didn't. And his story he gives her isn't based in fact. The recording people mention doesn't say the others were immune.I went back and listened to it. They've experimented on others, but they weren't immune.
I do want to stress that none of that detracts from Joel's character. Really it makes him all the more interesting. He's not a good man. But he is human. I just think trying to justify his actions as completely in the right is over reaching. Like it's okay to identify with an asshole, lol. We all have that selfishness in us. It's uncomfortable, yeah, but that's the point.
This comment was refreshing to see. It seems like a lot of people are misremembering things from the first game along with oversimplifying a complex situation.

Apparently the reason behind the leaks were security hacks into the Naughty Dog servers. It sucks that the content and whole story was leaked but hopefully everyone stays away from spoilers and gets to enjoy the game how the developers wanted people to play it

Patrick Torres game hasn’t even come out yet man. We haven’t played this all the way through . I’d rather experience it for myself, there are things I’m definitely going to like about this game and things that I won’t be used to in terms of story telling. I’m not gonna follow the majority of people that were turned off due to reading/watching shit they didn’t like.

Troy Baker came out and said to “keep an open mind” in regards to this game. He probably knew damn well, people were gonna resent this game’s story, leaked or not. I’m just trying to ride it out as they present me with a story I may not like cuz of my own expectations and just see where they’re coming from.

First game I played only last year too. Naughty Dog made one of my favourite games. Took what could have been just a generic story and immersed you in the world. Looking forward to returning to that world with Part II. #@$& spoilers and leaks. Doesn't make sense to know what happens ahead of time.
