    Why Em keep his lyrics from original Renegade? Why he ain't rewrote his verse when he heard Jay verse?

      Good point, what do you guys think? Should Eminem have re-written his verse after receiving Jay-Z’s verse back? Or did he do the right thing by keeping it the same original verse because it held up against Jays and was fire already? Let’s talk about it 🔥

      @@hiphopdx i'm too used to em verses on renegade i can't picture other lyrics to it anyway And the 4 verses of that song were Masterfull lyrically but yeah i just feel like Em's flow was more smooth . I like to say that the perfect flow is when your cadence is making love to the beat and that's what it felt like . Jay was more trying to catch up the beat and i know that that"s how he raps but it didn't fit flow wise imo he still killed it lyrically One of hip hop's greatest song

    Eminem followed and matched the beat, while Jay-Z rapped "across" the beat - Jay used the beat as a foundation for a more abstract verse. It isn't as catchy as Em's, but has a lot of syllabic shakeups and hard-hitting emotional lines that are strong in a different kind of way.

    • @PtylerBeats
      @PtylerBeats 4 роки тому +1

      This line is iconic because it’s so accurate to the actual hip hop audience. “Say that I’m foolish. I only talk about jewels? Do you fool listen to music or do you just skim through it?” He mentions jewels a few times and everybody jumps on him about it. And hip hop has ALWAYS done this. Like with the Logic biracial stuff lol yeah, it was funny, but it wasn’t true. He had 1 album where he brought it up. He didn’t mention his race at all on his first two albums, and then he has 3 or 4 songs (I don’t remember without going and looking through the lyrics) on the Everybody album where he has like 1 or 2 lines dedicated to mentioning his race. So in total of 3 albums, he mentioned his race 3 or 4 times tops. And people acted like it was all he talked about. But that’s just one example. People do this for every single rapper. Everybody raps too much about something to everybody. Which is so stupid because if you actually listened to the music, you would know that they DONT only rap about these certain topics lol this is why I love this line by Jay. He hit the nail on the head with, “or do you just skim through it.” Like actually. People skim through it wait to hear him talking about some jewels, and are quick to jump on his case about it haha but it’s not like the people complaining about rappers talking too much about certain topics are ACTUALLY listening to the music. They’re always the people who have heard a couple songs from them or their friend told them that he always talks about (fill in the blank).

      It was either “Rock City” w/Em on the hook or Renegade. Royce’s label at the time would only allow him one feature w/Em on the album. Pretty shitty deal IMO. When Em had a song for Jay due (it was 2002 he was on a time crunch with TES, 8 Mile, 50 Cent, etc) he phoned in Royce to ask if he could use Renegade.

    • @stevieb274
      @stevieb274 5 років тому

    • @visibleconfusion782
      @visibleconfusion782 5 років тому

      stevieb274 yeah I know Blueprint came out 2001 what a year remember trying to pirate it myself. But still relatively the same timeframe. Filming would’ve started in 2000-01. Around that time was the aftermath of MMLP, a D12 album, some lawsuits. Honestly it sounds like Em pushed Renegade out as a last minute effort.

    • @stevieb274
      @stevieb274 5 років тому

      Selene Graham renegade was already made, and Eminem said that jay was basically at a deadline for his album, so he gave him renegade

    • @visibleconfusion782
      @visibleconfusion782 5 років тому

      stevieb274 yah, my point exactly. Remember Rock City, Royce’s album to which Renegade was supposed to be on was released in 2002, a year after Blueprint. So still the same busy time crunch.
      IMO Em could’ve changed his verse or tried to adopt more to Jay Zs if he had more time on his hands, but he didn’t so he threw Renegade at him w/out Royce’s verse, hopefully w/Royce’s consent.

Joe Budden wasn't bad but out of Slaughterhouse he was clearly the weakest and it's not close, his "one-hit" was some lame ass pop-rap type shit with a simple-corny hook. His small number of fans will say he has deep tracks and killed shit on some mixtape shit that never made any national impact and Joe is/was mad because he wanted to Slaughterhouse to be big just because it was on Shady and he wanted to try gleen some shine from Eminem.

    I would personally like to see Eminem talk more about Royce in interviews and not because I feel Eminem owes him or has to, but because I love hearing Eminem talk about Hip-Hop. I’ve seen him have fun and say lyrics to old songs and he is clearly passionate about it. Someone said he should have his own podcast and if he just talked about older gen Hip-Hop or about Hip-Hop artists and music I would listen every day. Not even o my about hip hop, about rock, etc...., but it would be cool to learn about older gen from no other than Eminem himself. Imagine not knowing something like A group or A certain song that has this connection and Eminem puts you on to it. That’s practically what he does today, but with new artists, I would have never listened to much new artists had Em not promoted them. I always hear what Royce thinks about Em, it would be cool not because of the reciprocation, but just for spontaneity to hear or watch Eminem react to people talking of him by him talking of them and say what he sees in them and how he sees their position. I don’t wanna sound like A stan by saying “I wanna listen to him”, he must have A million stories of hanging out with legends and what not, that would be cool to hear too. Has A lot of potential- interviewers always update is with the same questions and it’s boring as fuck and it gets annoying when you can tell they don’t listen to his music at all or watch his interviews. I would ask something else our of genuine curiosity.
