The car is actually a great little car. When I got mine 7 years ago it had 53,000 miles on it. And have had no real issues maintaining it. I am however replacing the clutch this next month. But after putting on nearly 120,000 miles of driving coast to coast, mountains and city driving. And I have drove this thing hard I can’t complain. It’s not the easiest thing to fix. But hey nothing is easy anymore. It is by far one of the best cars I have ever owned. And that’s saying a lot. I’ve had a chevy Malibu that thing was shit, a Suzuki swift 4speed manual drove it till we had to push start the poor thing and watched it hit 750,000 miles and a few Jeep’s, and a Ford. But the little aveo5 has out lived most of them. And still goes. Sure it’s not the most expensive most flash high tech thing out there. It’s simple. And simple can be great too. And I’m not poor. I just choose to not spend money into a item that when you leave the lot with it. You loose 40 percent of its net worth. I’d rather save the money I would spend on a 50,000 dollar hot rod and travel the world and go to nice hotels and see and meet amazing people and enjoy my life to the fullest and not worry what happens if my cars touch screen goes out. But i also grew up without cable tv till the age of 16 and didn’t get my first smart phone till I was 28. And still don’t use it every minute or everyday. Look up and see that the world around you is better then what money can buy. I will drive this car for about 20 years. Oh and my mom her Aveo is 30 years older then mine. And it’s still rolling and getting great gas mileage.

No he is making up for the lack of something in his jeans! If you need a V-8 turbo lifted truck, you are lacking something:) Grow up. Probably hates the Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, but LOVES the Mini, since it is made by BMW, its all about the name to him. You buy a BMW, to make up for a HUGE lack of,.....power.

In the area I'm in, they seem to be susceptible to rust since I have not seen many pre 2008 models, and those that I do see have rust, usually on the bottoms of the doors.
Actually these small cars were design in such a way to provide max of the comfort/reliability and to be as cost-effective as they can. The logic behind these cars is that owners are going to keep it stock and just use it from location A to location B. Due to the fact that buyers of such cars are not interested in the "latest and greatest" complications, factory makes these cars with tried and tested equipment. So you get a simple and reliable bullet-proof basic gasoline engine + all the working switches, nobs, buttons, the most simple undercarriage with tried and tested setup. Oh you ain't gonna win no prizes for style or gonna brake records for speeds, but this car is going to get you places for the FRACTION of the cost compared to other cars. Once you try these cars you will be hooked. After 180 000 miles WITHOUT any PROBLEM, I have cherished my Aveo. There is just something about having 180 000 miles at odometer and being 100% certain that car is going to get you from location A to location B anytime any weather day or night. That kind of reliability is intoxicating and a fact that this car saved me a shitload of money (so I got to enjoy other things in life instead of buying overpriced mechanic labor or spare parts) makes me appreciate it even more!
I have a 06 Aveo lt hatch. I’ve had it since 2006 and it’s still running amazing. 146k miles on it. My dads the original owner. Very reliable vehicle. Doesn’t have much aftermarket support sadly.
I have a 2006 with 250,000 miles. It runs great. I bought it new, paid it off, used it to go back/forth to work. Then the teenagers used it for school/work until they could buy their own car. Now I'm using it again. Works great so stop bashing a good car. You sound like a spoiled brat who doesn't save a dime. I have not had a car payment forever, so f-u. I tell you what... When this car does break down, it's an easy fix.you can do yourself! Not like the cars today.
I have an 06 Aveo and love it. It was my mom's car but after she passed away I inherited it. Love this lil go cart car, cheap to maintain and great on gas. Granted everything is basically manuel like the windows, mirrors, and locks but still a great car. Just wish it had cruise control lol
I have a 2006 Chevy Aveo with 255,000 miles on it and the whole underbody have new parts. It's been running great for me for 6 years and I'm going to keep it going I just got to replace the EGR valve now and it'll be good as new again.
I have a manual transmission 2007 aveo, it’s cheap as hell but it runs forever- in the case that it does break, its pennys to repair. I call it stubby just because it looks a foot too short in length. I’ve chalked every funky thing up to character (manual everything, no interior back panel, being stolen only *once*, ect) and after a few years I started getting excited about introducing my car to my friends. I mean where else are you gonna get a car with this much ~flavor~? Is it a budget car? Yes- but it’s gotten me through countless road trips, mountain passes and flat plains alike. It was the cheapest car on the (used) lot but is worth it’s weight in gold plated copper with its stories and not having a monthly car payment. The resale value is maybe nonexistent, but hey! There’s always a parts shop, donation center, or a teen looking for a car on the cheap. If you want something reliable, will run forever, and to save some money, this is car for you. Until then- if you’ve got car problems I feel bad for you son, I’ve got 99 problems but stubs ain’t one.
After I bought my 2005 Aveo in 2004 for my wife being more full efficient it became the vehicle of choice for nearly every trip since it was one of the most dependable cars we ever had Dailey driver and long distance from New York to Texas to Michigan to Tennessee to Chicago to Kentucky to Arkansas to Ohio to Oklahoma to Pennsylvania to Indiana to Mississippi to Missouri to a lot more places the only issues we had was replacing tires until it was rear ended at a stop light after a replacement tailgate we gave it to my sisters teenage son and it is still going to day I would buy another in a heartbeat 💗
Those repeaters are a requirement for the internatuonal (especially in the EU) market .... thus its there. No point making fenders for the North American market simply because theres no such law here is there? Removing it will make the cost of the car more vs leaving it. 🤔 Already they had to mod the front and rear bumpers for us .... due to diff bumper regulations. Dont think the kid knows that🤔
I have this exact car but mine is a 5 speed..I wanted to smack that dude for talking shit about my girl..she had 168k on her when I took the wheel..I've been driving her for a little over a year and shes at 232k..
I had an 07 Aveo. My dad made me buy it when I was 16 brand new, payments and all. Lets just say I haven't bought a new car since then because I don't see the point. Go used, go nicer, and drive something with seats designed for actual people, an engine that can actually achieve speed, and better gas mileage. The shitty gas mileage is the crap cherry on the turd cake.
I have the 2006 LT hatch, was told the clutch would last maybe two weeks since I was just learning manual and that was half a year ago and I have the whole clutch kit just layin around still waiting on this one to go out😢 there cheap, reliable and good on gas. And when he said you must be poor, he obviously didn’t have to work hard for anything growing up.
There’s not a pop bottom for the trunk the door handle to open it is on the right side you have to use the key to unlock it. And there are also speakers in the back trunk.
My mother had one of these for 5 years, she drove that damn thing into the ground, had 130,000 miles. She loved her aveo. Had a 2006 in white, best car she ever owned. She trucked that damn thing 15 miles to work every day on I-10.
Honestly though I've never seen a more honest car review, man isn't trying to sell us anything just giving his honest opinion on the car. Love to see it
I've owned two aveos. Had them for years. The biggest bonus to owning one is their parts are super cheap, and junk yards have a ton of them. You can get repairs for next to nothing. Tires are barely bigger than donuts. So replacing them is absurdly cheap too. Lol.
Well dang this video from a year ago and I own the car! I like it but yea it is kind of cheap it’s a very good first car though🤷🏾♀️ I also have to do a lot of work on it and it’s a 2007 and I only had it for a year😒
These are good cars, even if they're just basic. Definitely not worth 7k. My 2007 was car fax'd at 4k, I bought it for 2.9, and it does have about 1k worth of work (struts, alternator is now starting to go out) but for something I'll have for a few years it's not bad at all.
I have a 2004, 4 door, white base model, 5 speed manual. Got 432,000 miles on it. Use it as an a-b doing 300 miles a day, so don’t want to use my newer vehicle or diesel truck. I’ll never sell it haha
Its clear this boy doesn't see the potential for these cars and he never turns on the car to hear how well it runs and the audio system yes is old but it still puts out really good sound plus these cars fucking go like theres no tommarow
Man all he did was complain about a cheap bare bones car and said if you're buying one you're probably broke. It's just such a low effort opinion on the car, especially considering he's looking at an off the lot price where's the car is of course going to be overpriced. I picked up a 2010 (not from a car sales lot) for $3000 at 60k miles because 1. Its a good deal for my wallet not because im broke 2. its chevy so parts are on the cheaper side 3. If parts brake or need replaced its a simple and easy car to work on 4. And because i know the car is going to be reliable if i maintain it regularly Dude walked in like he was expecting a top of the line ground breaking car. Curb your expectations and look at who the car might be for
I understand this isn’t your ideal car, but I have this exact car, has less than 45,000 miles, auto windows and it’s a reliable car if you take care of it. I have three cars and this car is comfortable and reliable. With gas prices this my favorite car.
I remember seeing this video 4 years ago when I had got one as my first car , felt super embarrassed and this video made it 10x worst. It’s ok though. I now drive an s5 🤷♂️.

Poor or broke people like me drive a $1500 dollar 1994 camry with an engine that is not uncommon to see 300k to 500k miles before a rebuild or needing an engine swap. And my work truck is an $800 1994 f150 long bed with the 300 inline six with an engine that is also known for going 300k or more, make good decisions people don't spend $7000 on any car. I don't mind the manual mirrors and manual parts on this Aveo less parts to break(hopefully the cheap plastic doesn't break), I wouldn't give more than 2k for it. But I would still choose a camry over this unless I just wanted to try out an Aveo.

This was my first car and I took pride in it. Yes it was cheap at $2,800 but it lasted me from 2018-2021. I'm getting rid of it because it keeps running hot. I would recommend for ppl who go to a few places but not very busy ppl. I just replaced the radiator and throttle so let me know if interested.

@@mrpoohbearlvr Lol, he does make good points, though, If the car was so nice, why did Chevy change the name of its successor for NA?
@@toyoscio I don't care. He makes no good points. Cant even open a hatchback, the lever was right where his hand was. 'Why is the gas filler door locked from the inside'? He cant figure out that at the time, gas was $4 a gallon?! Makes it harder to steal. DUH!
The Sonic is a bigger car, it is like why did they make and name the 'Spark'? It is a totally different car. GM stopped their partnership with Daewoo?, I dont care. I was stating the FACTS of MY Aveo. I have better things to do than argue with 20yo old guy wants a big V-8 car or a truck or a freaking Mini, i dont care. MY Aveo is a great little car ,and thats my point. Period. This is my last reply to this post. The Aveo is long gone, so is the CRUZE! Why did GM stop making it and SO many others? It and they are shit cars. So...go from there.
@@mrpoohbearlvr Lol some owners have had very good luck with the car, some have not. In the Aveo's case, the latter was more than the former.
3:01 dude pulled up with his mom in a shit box mini van and talks about being broke🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️he shoulda bought himself that aveo
Ha got'em
Exactly lol
Lol like a ford focus 2001 wagon or something
It’s a economy car. If you want luxury go look at those.
The narrator is not being objective.
It’s a great car for students or for delivering. They seem to hold up well.
Poor or Broke,I Feel Highly Offended,I love My Black Stella.
Got a Aveo Hatch for 2k and it was an 2011. Got me through alot the last two years but I suspect its gonna need alot of little maintenance here soon.
I actually like this car. It's basic and cute in my opinion lol I do agree that the hubcaps are bad though lol
Bought my aveo as a cheap beater in this same spec.... since I bought it I gotta say it's awesome! I have put no $ into it and it costs close to nothing to insure. 10/10 if you want a basic reliable car. Cheaper to buy used than a civic with 1/4 of the miles too. Big recommend if you need a cheap commuter
This car in manual is great tho lol
wouldn't trade mine for the world

@@johnbolander3588 Yeah man, the only reason I gave mine up was the car was literally rusting through the bottom. But I already had redone suspension and new clutch, gave it 6 more months till the rust started causing other issues. Man that little thing would get a week of gas minimum tho, my mazda 3 now if I'm lucky gets 4 days without filling up
just picked up my second one after rolling my last one. love this little shuttle.

i just bought a new chevy aveo 2006 at 120k miles should i replace timing belt ?
2:49 hey now! I got a geo metro
If anyone here owns this car just make sure to be on top of the timing belt maintenance. Once it goes out it will toast the engine
Please guys I need serious help. My Aveo 2005 hatchback is consuming too much petrol. I have done the engine but the problem Stil remains the same. What can I do?
“If you’re going to be buying this car, you’re probably broke anyways”
You get what you pay for.. all those manual things are just less things to go wrong. If its priced right, nothing wrong with it.
This is the funniest car review I’ve ever seen lmfao
I wouldn't call that turn signal on the fender "pointless". All cars have been federally required to have them since the malaise era.
Joe Rambo he drives a bmw
Those repeaters are a requirement for the internatuonal (especially in the EU) market .... thus its there. No point making fenders for the North American market simply because theres no such law here is there? Removing it will make the cost of the car more vs leaving it. 🤔 Already they had to mod the front and rear bumpers for us .... due to diff bumper regulations. Dont think the kid knows that🤔
This is a nicer car than mine in Ecuador
My friend got a Chevy Aveo rental spec for her first car and all I said to her when she told me was "Thoughts and prayers".
I have a 2011 Chevy Aveo and I feel like I just got my shit ROASTED
I like the car! People always talk shit that have a "better" car that they can't even afford to keep gas in.
@@scampbell21 How so?
I have this exact car but mine is a 5 speed..I wanted to smack that dude for talking shit about my girl..she had 168k on her when I took the wheel..I've been driving her for a little over a year and shes at 232k..
Hahaha
It hurt when someone tell the truth eh?
Thanks for sharing the video,,, great review amigo.
It might help to review a car if you know what you are talking about
Agreed. The video is old but they have a 4 speaker system. The other 2 are in the back and are 2.5x4" 😂😂
I have this car and it's great!!! Just take care of your car no matter what model it is...
I love me Aveo 🥺
You seem like somebody that’s happy with their life 😂
There’s not a pop bottom for the trunk the door handle to open it is on the right side you have to use the key to unlock it. And there are also speakers in the back trunk.
My mother had one of these for 5 years, she drove that damn thing into the ground, had 130,000 miles. She loved her aveo. Had a 2006 in white, best car she ever owned. She trucked that damn thing 15 miles to work every day on I-10.
I have 5 cars all Honda’s but the 2005 Chevy Aveo Manuel is fun as hell.
It's a shame he didn't test drive it, he would've hated it even more
Just bought an 07 5 speed for a temp they are fun no matter what
Honestly though I've never seen a more honest car review, man isn't trying to sell us anything just giving his honest opinion on the car. Love to see it
😂💀this is so funny
Whell I love my 04
i have a 2009 aveo5 and they changed ALOT from the 08 to the 09 live wow
Love my Aveo
Last one was at 236,000 km and ran perfectly
Rear ended!!
Wanted to get 500,000!
Damn I got this car 🤧. It was free tho and I have the 2009 model, only takes 25$ to fill up from empty
Damn. Was this one of those car tour videos to get you to want to buy it? I sure as hell hope not.
And $7000 for that car with under 100,000 miles on it is honestly a great price lol
I have a 2004, 4 door, white base model, 5 speed manual. Got 432,000 miles on it. Use it as an a-b doing 300 miles a day, so don’t want to use my newer vehicle or diesel truck. I’ll never sell it haha
What color Is ir especially
Car Wizard even says stay away
Its clear this boy doesn't see the potential for these cars and he never turns on the car to hear how well it runs and the audio system yes is old but it still puts out really good sound plus these cars fucking go like theres no tommarow
It was replaced by the sonic if your talking about chevy sub compact. But if your talking about hatchback then you can say chevy spark replaced aveo.
Man all he did was complain about a cheap bare bones car and said if you're buying one you're probably broke. It's just such a low effort opinion on the car, especially considering he's looking at an off the lot price where's the car is of course going to be overpriced. I picked up a 2010 (not from a car sales lot) for $3000 at 60k miles because
1. Its a good deal for my wallet not because im broke
2. its chevy so parts are on the cheaper side
3. If parts brake or need replaced its a simple and easy car to work on
4. And because i know the car is going to be reliable if i maintain it regularly
Dude walked in like he was expecting a top of the line ground breaking car. Curb your expectations and look at who the car might be for
Goddamn go-kart on wheels 😂
I understand this isn’t your ideal car, but I have this exact car, has less than 45,000 miles, auto windows and it’s a reliable car if you take care of it. I have three cars and this car is comfortable and reliable. With gas prices this my favorite car.
Have you done the timing belt, yet?
This is so brutal. I love it

There is a reason it is so cheap
Once they get to that range the transmissions like to blow and even the engines at 100,000 miles.

This is the most entertaining car review I have seen on UA-cam.
This guy is hilarious
I love my 05 Aveo, I mean it’s Ls swapped and on a 12 inch lift buuut
How hard is to sit a LS motor on the aveo I want to do something similar with mine
I know some one with a 2007 model has over 203,000 miles on it.
Bro diss the soul out of this car thou 😔 but i know its good on gas than the one you have now
