I have a garland of little gingerbread men that were my grandmother’s. My kids don’t like them but they remind me of her. They are from the 30s or 40s. BTW one of my early best memories is of her and my mom baking gingerbread cookies. They decided to quintuple the recipe as there were several happenings that season that we were to take desserts. It was only after they made the dough and there was a lot, that they looked closer at the recipe, it made 4+ dozen cookies, lol! They were up past the early morning hours baking ginger bread cookies😅😂😂😂😂!

Your dad is right! We raised 3 kids in a modest size 4 bedroom home. After we became empty nesters we moved to a 5 bedroom home that was twice the size. Now with 7 grandkids and our first great grandchild on the way we are so happy we have the room to host everyone!

It's nice to see where your mom put all of those antiquing purchases over the years!!! I remember several of her purchases and wondered what she was going to do with them. I can see where you get your creative talent. Your parents home is beautiful. Isn’t it amazing how past generation talents , such as the painting of your grandparents, seem to continue on in other ways. My Dad was an amazing artist and my daughter and her children have picked up that ability. Christmas is such a wonderful time to bring everyone together and remember the past. I always enjoy seeing Laura and her mother together. Loved the home tour. I have to smile because the "vintage" ornaments her mother pointed out near the end of the tour are the same ornaments that we bought our first or second year of marriage. We didn't have much money and they were only ones we could afford 40 years ago.

I’m not sure that you’ll see this, but I was watching a proven winners video and noticed how things look very different. What if you did a through the years video, what the garden / estate looked like then and then showing us how it has evolved. It might be a lot of work for Ken to do, I think that’s his name, but I for one would love to see a detailed evolution. And maybe every couple of year you could do the same. Just a thought and maybe it isn’t even possible. ❄️⛄️💚🙃

I know it’s LATE so you probably won’t see this, but I ended up in the hospital the day after Christmas last year (2022) and was on and off hospitalized/very ill physically and mentally. I have been really struggling this whole past year since. I’ve been a loyal viewer since you still lived in the townhouse, and ever since I first got sick in the beginning of December of 2022 I’ve barely been able to watch any of your videos. As my strength picks back up and I feel better, I still have the trauma from how bad last Christmas season was for my family and me… but I saw the video of your new barn pop up on Facebook and burst into happy tears. Ever since that video I’ve scrolled ALLLLLL the way back and have finally caught up with last year’s Christmas season videos. It has been SO incredibly therapeutic and cathartic. I keep tearing up and am very grateful I have the strength to move forward and I just hope you know Laura… as well as your mom and Monica… y’all really have brought me so much joy over the years. Even though I don’t know y’all- this past week, you’ve helped me heal and where I’ve missed out on very special moments in my life with my own family… just seeing y’all be so sweet to each other and for y’all being so open and sharing each other with all of us is such a blessing. Merry Late Christmas and I look forward to catching up on all of last years videos as well as this past Christmas to now too. I really have missed watching your videos every day. And when my husband noticed that I was watching your videos again, he went and bought me a whole armful of bouquets from the grocery store to make some flower arrangements of my own… I was so surprised and I’m over here bawling just typing it out. My mom started collecting White House ornaments since it started in 1981. My Dad worked at the White House in the Secret Service. I have kept up her collection since she passed and display them on a black wrought iron tree. I don’t see too many people who also collect and your display is beautiful.
It is wonderful to enjoy memories of Christmas ! I inherited my moms nativity, her gold ornaments and other Christmas favorites . 🎄It warms my heart as I use her pumpkin pie pan and and my grandmas rolling pin.

we have all the White House ornaments. It began in 1988. They are a delight. We now have a dedicated 4 foot tree for them. Seeing your mom's house in June makes me want to be her for our family...I can't wait for Christmas!
