Hey everyone, I know I said that I would be doing a Part 3 for the AT&T Globalyst. However, as I've been messing around with it I've ran into a few oddities.
The first odd thing was that anytime I tried to install Quake from my legit retail CD, it would error out during the unpacking phase. Quake ran fine in Phil's Dosbench pack and if I copied the install folder from a different computer it also would run fine. I've never had issues with that CD before, but maybe it's just an oddity with that drive.
The second was there seems to be some sort of VGA compatibility issue with the S3 chip onboard. On some 2D elements, it will garble the graphics and have them wrapped around the screen in a weird manner. Doesn't affect actual usability, but still odd. I tried using the S3 VESA driver, but since none of the stuff I was testing (Quake's menu, Epic Pinball's menu, etc.) were actually using any VESA modes, predictably it didn't help. Could just be some weird thing with the VBIOS or the way it's wired up on the motherboard, but I'll need to look into it more.
The third and final thing, is that WFW 3.11 is really unstable. It's not usable in the slightest with near constant errors. Could be one of the disks I was using is bad, but I need to investigate further. I have already ran Memtest86 on the system and that came back with no errors, so it's not that. Could be that all of these are coincidences, but often in my experiences if you're getting three or more weird things happening with a system, there tends to be a common cause between them all. But I'll find out if that's true with more testing.
All of this is to say that I'm just going to work on these issues on my own time and maybe I'll make a Part 3 at some point down the road. I'd rather move onto other videos and deal with the system when I feel like it. Sorry to anyone who was really looking forward to the benchmarks. Hopefully you understand.

It would be so cool to max this system out like MJD's 98 PC. I think it would be cool to see how far you can push this system. Hell, try upgrading it from 1.0 all the way to windows 7

Windows 7 probably isn’t possible, but XP definitely is. Unfortunately there’s not a ton of great upgrade options for Socket 5 that are still priced reasonably.

@@NTGTechnology Yeah. I am not entirely sure how much RAM and CPU Windows 7 actually needs. edit: I looked into it and Windows 7 is definitely not possible without modifications to the installer given the fact that the PC does not have ACPI.

    Remember Vibra 16
If Vibra16 Has IDE Cd Or creative/panasonic(matsoshita) Header
You can Plug Generic IDE CD Drive Or If You Have Creative/Panasonic(Matsoshita)
I don't Know Windows 95 Or 98 Can Be Detect Generic IDE CD Drive/Creative/Panasonic(Matsoshita) From Vibra16
