Because of the length of these videos and the limited time I have, I always watch them at 1.5 speed and Biskuwi is my current favorite Happy Hardcore producer.
Yalcin besides a huge producer and teacher, you are a greater human being for putting out this knowledge and material for us. Thank you man, from my heart
Few tipp that helped me: 1. Use Sonarworks Reference. That flatens the curve for Headphones and Speakers. 2. If you use Kick2 you can tune your kick very easyly and much faster 3. use shaperbox 2 to duck bass with different curves on multible bands. like a multibandcompressor maybe. That works for me and it can do a lot more.
you're such a generous producer to not only make comprehensive guides and suggestions toward proper mixing, but to also make samples for everyone to use (: i wish i could support you but i'm not old enough to really be donating and all that. thank you so much
Ive watched SOO many hours of Yalcin! Every video is full of knowledge (for my level), and the complexity of the explanation of everything is brilliant. Thank you for the effort, it's really appreciated. And what's more, you're my wife's favourite as well ! Even though she has absolutely no idea about what your talking about :D
This video legit made me a better music producer. Like finding the last piece of the puzzle . Now my music sound way cooler and professional, awesome, thank you Yalcin!
Music producer saying 'don't trust your ears'? Finally! I work in a non-treated room sometimes and this is the most valuable piece of advice you can give someone in that scenario. Yet another brilliant video from the best channel on youtube. Love your work. Edit: Bought the kick pack, some fantastic work involved making these, a steal at that price.

I don't know how you do all of this with a daytime job, making those vids, sample packs and releasing your own tracks, which by the way are sounding awesome, but the content you drop in UA-cam each time is just so great and helpful, just the best learning curve of my live for the moment :), keep on doing this, it drives me through Corona :) !!!
Hi for the issue you explain at "tune your kick" check the plugin Chop Suey from Sinee out! There you can drag&drop your kick and have it separated in transient, body, and tale and you can edit/change them separately and move them around to avoid artifacts. Great videos by the way. love what you do
Low end has definitely been my biggest struggle. I feel like I can never get it right or the way I want it. This definitely gives me a better understand.👌🏼

Been Following you for more than a year now and the amount of knowledge I've gained in this period from you is insane!! Thank you and never stop these amazing tutorials!
Been watching your videos for a while, first comment ever but you deserve it: thank you for everything. You can't imagine how many things I have learned. Greetings from Finland!
Just wanna add that you have now awesome (and affordable) softwares like Realphones that allow curbing of the frequency response associated with your specific pair of headphones (via custom profiles). That makes for a MUCH smoother mixing-that and getting higher end speakers with room correction feature really changed everything for me.
Yalcin, another great video man! Glad to see your channel getting the attention it deserves. I just wanted to provide some additional insight around the 10:18 mark. I know it's just an easy tip to pick a quick strong sub note, but in a way that advice can work as a constraint. I'm not sure if you mentioned this, but picking a square wave as a sub (or any waveform with more harmonic content than a pure sin wave) can really help the weaker 'sub frequencies' for notes such as C or D. Just wanted to throw this in there. Thanks again man!
Another way is using the right kind of saturation. Not many saturators work well for low end (at least in my experience), but some do. Using a waveform with harmonics and saturation are two ways to get harmonics into your low notes (or any sound in general). You might prefer one over the other depending on the other sounds in the track. You can also try emulations of analog gear in plugin form: usually, the designer of the plugin will try to model the saturation imparted by the analog gear (e.g., the output transformer). So, you can sometimes use a plug-in in "pass-through" mode (e.g., no EQ change with an EQ plug-in) just to get the saturation of the tubes and xformers. An example if this would be a pulteq EQ with everything set at zero (but a good pulteq emulation will add about 0.5dB to the level, so be mindful of that).
great tutorial..keep it up ..good things will come to u ..for sure ..cause u giving all this knowlage ..to people who need and love music as much as u do ..god bless :D
hey man hope you're doing good! You have a really big heart for teaching stuff like that and giving away samples every video... keep going, its super appreciated
I don’t know if I can thank you enough for all the knowledge you provide! I started playing in ableton when the pandemic started back in april 2020. Browsing on youtube, I found your channel some months ago. It was the best for me! Like the information and inspiration you provide is pure gold! I almost feel bad cuz this is free content, but I subscribed and liked every video to show my apreciation! Thank you! ☺️
Great video with important information. One more idea: I have it on good authority that professional mixers often use *separate channels* with separate instruments (synth or recorded notes) for *each note* of the base and sub bass (if there is one; there's almost always is a sub in EDM). No, not every note, every note value (all the G's are on a channel, all the A's are on another channel, etc.). Then each channel is leveled and EQ'd and etc separately so the sound can be controlled. I think this might be overkill in some situations, but it's a good thing to keep in mind if the level of different notes varies a lot and compression doesn't give you the results you're looking for. Just a thought. You can even vary the cutoff of the filter for each note to achieve a consistent sound *or* to achieve a special sound that you're looking for (automation might be sufficient depending on how fast the bass line moves).
The secret with low is to understand that between 30 and 100 hz there is a world as important between 1000 and 10000. I don’t know why there is not a low end focused parametric eq to make very surgical work (like a pro q but from 10hz to 120 ) .
thank you so much for your content! been a subscriber for over a year now, and you have no idea how much you were helpful. keep up man hope u're safe thx
Personally, I proceed with caution when trying to tune a kick. Most of the time, if I feel I need to tune the kick, I soon realize the problem is that the kick is too long. As deadmou5 says, "a kick is transient. You don't tune transients." When I reduce the length of the kick, I either decided it's now the wrong kick, or it's *much* better being shorter. As for not tuning transients.... I often tune high hats and other percussion, but I wouldn't dare contradict deadmou5!
I noticed phase issues when using regular eq in FL studio a fter I split kick to transient and tail. However using linear eq helps to keep them in phase. Just my 5 cents to people to keep checking the phase.
Yes Yalcin! This is my biggest issue as a producer! I've finally been starting to figure it out, and I'm sure this video will help tons with that process. Deep house is my favorite genre, but mixing the low end has been such a problem for that it's kinda driven me away from producing deep house and more into producing techno, because for whatever reason I have had a lot more success at mixing the low end in techno. I've finally been getting back into producing deep house though, and it's been so exciting. Thanks for posting this 🙏🙏
Thank u! Im a fan of your work. Also, your website is very easy to navigate. Ill definitely book a master w/ u some time and listen to your playlists at spotify right now!
you are an absolute legend! good tutorial and also a very nice gesture with the free kicks besides the pack already being a low price for what its worth! will definitely consider buying the pack and basically never worry about techno kicks again for just 14 euros!!
Absolute "gold" video! I have one question about the Sub-Bass .... you have brilliantly described about the "sweet spot" for subs, and suggest using "E, F or G" if possible .... but what if we are producing a song in another key, for example in "C" .... and we can't change the key, perhaps it's a remix of an existing song, or any other reason. What do we do in this instance? Seems that a lower C is too low, and a higher C is too high .... I come across this problem all the time, and would love to hear thoughts on how to best approach this! Huge thanks.
Great video thanks for sharing! Have you considered or heard the following idea on EQ? Boost to change the sound, cut to make it better? So instead of boosting the highs, take out some of the mid or other area that then brings clarity in the mix?
Yalcin, I just need to thank you. This vídeo is a Gold Mine. But I need to listen your music from this vídeo, where I can to listen that? The Melody from Bass and PAD these are gorgeus.
Thank you very much brother, for everything, especially because you share your knowledge with us, and it is easy to understand, at least for me, from some other producers who complicate things a lot, thank you very much again for that , and of course for free kicks. I am just a poor man from Serbia who loves and tries hard to succeed somehow , in what i loves to do for the last twenty years, funny but true , and poz to all who follow love and learn with bishops , in my country "city" almost everyone says, live rock and roll , I say live techno ! I love you brooo and thank you again ! I apologize to everyone in my not so good English .
Instead of tuning a kick sample, isn’t it best practice to find a kick sample that is already in the right key? I feel like kick tuning tends to destroy what made the sample pleasant to my hears in the first place. Also, which note do you usually tune the kick to? Root, or any note in the key scale ?
bought you kick pack! Excellent work. I normally use Kick 2, whihc is great, but for 14 euros have you pack at hand makes it worth the price. Thanks ;-)
Is it just me or has the quality of not just the videos along with the camera taking it increased🤷🏿♂️... Anyway awesome tutorial just exactly the information I needed 👌🏿

in South America 14 euros is a lot of money! but thank you very much for the free pack, I appreciate it.
One of THE best music production video's I have seen. Also very good idea on that sample pack!
Love the fact you like the darker heavier sub bass frequencies. Great video... love rewatching this one from time to time. Love the examples.

This is such an outstanding video. It's the most important element of techno and most of us are wading around in the dark. So helpful Yalcin
