I don't live anywhere near Tampa Bay, or even Florida. I just am so intrigued by this sheriff's news conferences, that I watch the videos when they show up. He has a way of relaying the events that make them interesting and relevant. Again, I don't know anything about his politics or the way he runs his department, but when he describes the situations, I can picture everything he is relaying to the people listening.
I love him and he's been an fixture in Polk county a long time. I used to read about Sheriff Arpaino in Arizona until what appeared to be dirty politics got rid of him. Sad cause he was a lot like Sheriff Grady.

The kids are underage. If the parents don’t want their children’s names broadcast, they aren’t allowed to release them. As far as the deceased, if the family hasn’t been notified of their loved ones death they won’t release the names.
1. They haven't been convicted, and the public loves to pretend they're the jury and condemn people despite any evidence. 2. Some of them are minors, and minors' names are never released to the public.

Many move away from urban areas for safety, but now raiding parties made up of gang members are leaving those areas for distant suburbs in the next county looking to steal mostly, but shootings are also becoming more common. The shootings are mostly for now by minority people that are shooting others of their same social group plus any bystanders that happen to be collateral damage. There was one party not too long ago in a small Alabama south eastern town that had over 40 casualties plus IIRC 4 dead. Two of the dead were armed and all were less than 21. I believe that a glock switch (Full auto sear for a glock) was involved. The killers were from out of town. This is something where the communities that spawn these criminals and killers need to act. Law enforcement only acts after the crime occurs. These young people needed to be reached one way or another within their communities prior to them committing these atrocities. Often drugs are also involved.

They know. They just refuse to help police and then cry about how police don’t care about them and don’t solve crimes.
To be fair I’m sure some people are scared of retribution if they narc. We need to pass laws that protect victims and witnesses more than the animals who commit these crimes.

Many move away from urban areas for safety, but now raiding parties made up of gang members are leaving those areas for distant suburbs in the next county looking to steal mostly, but shootings are also becoming more common. The shootings are mostly for now by minority people that are shooting others of their same social group plus any bystanders that happen to be collateral damage. There was one party not too long ago in a small Alabama south eastern town that had over 40 casualties plus IIRC 4 dead. Two of the dead were armed and all were less than 21. I believe that a glock switch (Full auto sear for a glock) was involved. The killers were from out of town.
This is something where the communities that spawn these criminals and killers need to act. Law enforcement only acts after the crime occurs. These young people needed to be reached one way or another within their communities prior to them committing these atrocities.
Often drugs are also involved.
ALL YOU DO NOTHING CHIEFS, SHERIFF'S, that won't "ALLOW "officers to enforce the law, and you have "TRADED" your badge for stripes or bars ,you were worthless when you pinned on a badge. Take lessons from a TRUE LAW ENFORCEMENT SHERIFF.
