Great question. The phrase 'law and the prophets' is shorthand for what we call the Old Testament. Jesus is saying that the Old Testament was the emphasis until John the Baptist. Now the Kingdom of God is the main message. However verse 17 reminds us that the Old Testament is not irrelevant in this new era. This verse is not specifically speaking about the gift of a prophet as prophets are mentioned in Acts as still operating.
Disagree that the old testament is nit for today. The whole of scripture is for us. Jesus was a Jew, He quoted the Old Testament only. The Old is the new testalenr is full if the old. The Apostles quoted them all the time. We cannot have the new without the old and vice versa.
YES! We still exist in these end-times! We have been divinely called in a genuine theophany with miracles following God's promised Word which we speak in our Lord God Jesus Christ's name. You don't normally hear about us because we do not go on T.V. nor desire a following. Nevertheless, we have been genuinely called in a theophany and given God's revival message to share with receptive believers.

NO. It’s many self appointed prophets today all doing the same thing. They are pastors holding prayer lines fooling the church
