I’m on the Spectrum myself and had something not that far off happen to me when I was 6. I was placed on the wrong bus and knew something was wrong when I was the last kid on that bus. I kept seeing my House several times. Luckily the Driver stopped the Bus in front of the House of a family friend of ours. I called her out by name and she came right to the bus. My Mom was flipping out when I didn’t come home with my Sisters. My Mom was 10 years younger than I am now and had only been out of the Army for 3 years at the time. My Dad had just retired from the Army himself months earlier. Both were very pissed. This was down in San Antonio right after we moved there from California, months after coming back from 4 years in Germany. Yes, your Daughter is well aware of what was happening more likely. I still remember my incident 32 years later at age 38. Definitely try to get her some counseling if you can and the District should pay for that. They should also be paying for that Hospital Visit. How did the school not call the parents when the child wasn't in class? The parents never called to say she wouldn't be in school so please tell me how only one person was held responsible when it was EVERY PERSON who is responsible for that child at that school!
Idk how this district does it but usually you get a recorded call from the school about 10am or so but sometimes not until 3pm that your child was absent from school today. That would be the only way they’d know.
In school policy, parents are required to inform the school of their child's absence. If at the end of the second day the student did not show up and a notice was still not given, then teachers are required to contact parents to see what's happening. In cases of younger children, parents are usually required to notify a teacher by which means of transport a child will be attending school so the teacher can oversee the safe arrival of the child. Not sure of the process in USA but in most countries that's the school policy on things like this.
The bus driver needs to be facing criminal charges for child endangerment, child neglect, child abandonment and attempted murder. Glad that the bus driver was fired.
You can see and feel the father's pain. She is so cute. 7hrs... no bathroom, no food, no liquids, and scared. It should not have taken 7hrs. After roll call, they should have checked and call the mom. More people should be punished

Luckily a good-hearted black man was kind enough to stop & bring me to authorities, at my age anything could’ve happened, thank God❤
Shameful. How do you not walk the entire bus to make sure all all kids are off? In Northern Virginia, 40 years ago, if a student wasn't there at roll call, parents were called. We have way too much technology for something like this to happen. Especially special needs.
